THE COMPANY ABOUT US For over 25 years Red Rooster has been supplying our dealers with high quality lifting equipment providing a variety of lifting solutions for all types of industries. As an independent company we have always offered the highest possible levels of service, quality and reliability which guarantees the safety provided by Red Rooster products. We started the business in 1989 as Steve Wright Lifting but over time we were better known by the product name of our air hoists Red Rooster, so in 2006 the company name was changed to Red Rooster Industrial (UK) Ltd, and again in 2016 to Red Rooster Lifting Limited. Specialising in the supply, repair and rental of quality powered lifting and load measuring solutions our product range covers Red Rooster air hoists, EMCE winches, KITO electric hoists, KITO manual hoists, GEBUWIN hand winches and Red Rooster load measuring equipment. We have always sold and hired our equipment through our dealer network in the UK but with Red Rooster hoists now being used globally in the oil industry our supply has extended worldwide. The range of industries has also expanded from lifting equipment dealers to material handling companies, crane manufacturers, maintenance contractors and equipment manufacturers. With our vast experience we can offer technical backup, advice on installation and assistance with breakdowns, spare parts are generally available from our stock or we can offer a full repair and testing service, from our workshop. Our staff are trained and equipped with the product knowledge required to offer our customers satisfactory advice or solutions. Our internal training program allows our experienced staff to assist the newer staff members with specialist training for complex equipment or lifting solutions. Being a progressive company, Red Rooster is continually striving to improve designs, innovation and quality systems ensuring our products and services supplied are of the highest quality. Advancement in technology and increased production mean investment, which is something Red Rooster has always done. Some of our recent investments have contributed towards new buildings in Oldmeldrum (Scotland), West Bromwich (England) and Krakow (Poland). State of the art machining centres and inventor design packages have been introduced along with new purpose built hydraulic hoist and load cell testing equipment Our QHSE management system is fully approved by BSI to ISO 9001:2008 (Quality) and ISO 18001:2007 (Health and Safety) covering all of our operating processes within our company. OUR HISTORY 1988 Steve Wright Lifting was established in Altens Aberdeen 1989 The company moves to a rented unit in Oldmeldrum while a purpose built factory is being built. 1992 Company moves into the new factory designed specifically for the sale and production of lifting equipment with a staff of 6 people. 1994 Acquired DJM engineering in Birmingham, enabling Red Rooster to manufacture their own parts. 1997 DJM relocated to Oldmeldrum. Staff levels increased to 15 people. 1999 New warehouse erected in Oldmeldrum 2005 Extension to warehouse built 2006 Following the retirement of two of the founding directors the company was restructured and the company name changed to Red Rooster Industrial (UK) Limited. 2009 The 20th anniversary of Red Rooster was marked with a grand reception for shareholders and staff of the company at Meldrum House Hotel. New building work is completed increasing our workshop and storage capacity. Staff levels reach 35 people. 2013 A branch in Niepolomice Poland (close to Krakow) was opened to increase our manufacturing capacity and target new customers from Central and Eastern Europe. Red Rooster becomes and official distributor for KITO Japan. 2014 New purpose built warehouse completed in Oldmeldrum. West Bromwich depot moves into a much larger unit along to accommodate an increase of staff and equipment. A new striking company logo which better identifies the individuality of our company is introduced. The new Red Rooster website is completed reflecting a modern and professional image and providing details of all our products and services. 2016 Rebranding to Red Rooster Lifting Limited. QUALITY, SAFETY AND COMPETENCE At Red Rooster we are committed to quality and safety. We believe communication is key to the operation of our systems. All of our staff have the authority to intervene and stop a job if they perceive the risk to be unacceptable. Our company systems are all included within our BSI registration to ISO 9001:2008.The system was first certified to ISO 9001 in 1996. Our planning, design, procurement, manufacture and inspection procedures fully reflect how our company works. Using inventor design software our Manufacturing Director is able to have designs checked to precision and by calculation where necessary. The software is upgraded every year so has the latest standards and updates. Using the most up to date technology and standards, all Red Rooster lifting and load measuring equipment is constantly evolving. We have invested in the latest milling and turning machines to cut production times and give increased control over the tolerance and quality of parts. The conformance with our procedures is a mandatory requirement of all personnel to ensure the company objectives are met. Throughout the manufacturing and assembly processes check lists are used to confirm quality and test results. Our QHSE department is continually monitoring, auditing and improving our systems. HEALTH & SAFETY Red Rooster have always worked to our own set of company safety guidelines but in 2011 we decided to have our systems audited by BSI as the first step to gaining OHSAS 18001:2007 registration. The occupational health and safety management system we now have in place was certified in December 2011 covering all the activities of the company. The extended scope of the system has brought many benefits to the company with the guidance of the BSI auditors. Red Rooster are committed to the prevention of injury, ill health and to maintain a healthy and safe working environment as free from stress as is reasonably practical for it s staff and visitors, both within our works and at other work places where the company carries out activities. Our QHSE department is committed to maintain and improve the company QHSE as laid out in our management systems and company policy statement. COMPANY POLICY STATEMENT The core activities of Red Rooster Lifting Ltd are the supply, repair and rental of quality powered lifting equipment and load measuring solutions. These are delivered whilst ensuring the wellbeing of people, legal compliance, environmental risks and customer satisfaction are addressed. COMPETENCE As a lifting equipment manufacturer, supplier and inspector we are audited by the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association LEEA confirming that our procedures, reports and codes of practice all meet the current standards for lifting equipment and certification. As a full member we have access to LEEA for personnel training, guidance and experience. Red Rooster provides extensive equipment manuals stressing the importance of following the installation and maintenance instructions for all equipment we supply and hire to customers. The checks are based on LEEA guidance and our experience. We also offer our technical and safety training for sales staff and a repair and examination course for technicians working on our equipment. The owner of the equipment should ensure that operators are fully trained in the use of hoists or winches and provide a copy of the manual for the operator. Although Red Rooster has the required safety features built into their equipment and provide a full manual, some hazards cannot be reduced or eliminated. Due to this lifting plans and risk assessments must be in place for lifting equipment operators. The operator should work with due care and diligence anticipating the effects of his actions and the actions of others. We recommend that Red Rooster hoists have a thorough examination every year carried out by a trained technician. During the inspection the technician can decide if the equipment is safe to use. SERVICES Red Rooster has a wide range of standard equipment designed and manufactured in house. Over the years we have manufactured many customised designs to meet special requirements, many of which we can now offer to our customers. With our inventor software we can design and check the integrity of the unit before going into manufacture, eliminating costly re-designs. We are continually upgrading and re-designing our equipment to meet customer requirements, national standards and safety. Over the last 25 years we have continually striven to invest in the most up to date and state of the art milling and turning machines. We machine all the components for our stock requirements and the special units that make up a large part of our sales. Our computer controlled machines and highly skilled operators allow us to work to tight tolerances and produce a consistently high standard of quality equipment. The company production processes are well defined and follow the equipment through manufacture, assembly, testing and final inspection with engineers and inspectors checking all items to ensure the quality of our products. Being certified by BSI for quality and health and safety means we are audited by them 3 times a year and we conduct monthly internal audits on different departments. Equipment calibrations and checks are controlled within the system, machines are regularly maintained and statutory examinations completed. New product development has always been an important part of Red Rooster, this can be our own ideas, customer requirements or from changes in legislation. All new designs go through the same intensive design and testing program before going into manufacture. SERVICES REPAIRS, TESTING, CALIBRATION, SERVICING AND EXAMINATION Red Rooster are specialists in the repair of powered hoists, winches and load measuring equipment. Our detailed knowledge and experience of this type of equipment means we can offer our customers a quality repair and a fast turnaround, from examination to quote and return fully certified after repair. Our highly trained engineers can repair and test all makes of hoists and winches. The Red Rooster repair program guarantee: On receipt, the equipment is booked into the system and the job number attached. The equipment is then examined and dismantled for a full report and quotation to be prepared. Once authorised, your repair will be dealt with promptly and efficiently. We make every effort to make the equipment look like new. After repair the equipment will be function and load tested to confirm it operates as per specification. Red Rooster warrants the equipment against defect in our work for a period of 6 months. Misuse and lack of maintenance are specifically excluded. In stock we have a large amount spare parts to suit all models of Red Rooster hoists. TEST EQUIPMENT Every Red Rooster product is subject to the most rigorous examination and testing prior to release. In our works we can carry out dynamic testing on hoists up to 65 tonne, hoists and trolleys can lift and travel up to 30 tonne on our outside gantry and winches can be tested up to 20 tonne. Our calibration and test rigs include a tensile and compressive calibration machines up to 100 tonne and a 400 tonne tensile test and calibration rig. SITE SERVICES Our site services will install, commission, test, service and examine cranes, hoists and winches. They are qualified to test and examine all types of lifting equipment and have the experience to maintain most makes of crane and carry out statutory examinations. During the examination the engineer decides if the equipment is safe to use or if repairs are required, the site report will highlight any faults to the customer before our engineer leaves the site. We offer a fast response to breakdowns and a maintenance schedule to meet the requirements of your cranes. Keeping overhead cranes well serviced will reduce breakdowns and increase the life of the crane. Breakdowns can be expensive and lead to loss of production as crane spares are not usually kept in stock. Most work carried out as part of a maintenance contract so Red Rooster will advise you when the agreed service / inspection falls due, which can vary between different companies based on the conditions and lifting operations. With our highly trained and experienced team of engineers we can offer competitive rates for servicing and breakdown. LOAD MEASURING EQUIPMENT Our team of load cell technicians have a vast knowledge of manufacture of Red Rooster load links and shackles and the repair of our and other suppliers equipment. From standard units to the most complex weighing systems we can test and trace the defective component before repairing and calibrating. We are mainly a trade supplier but we also supply material handling companies, crane manufacturers, maintenance contractors and equipment manufacturers. RENTAL At Red Rooster we aim to offer you, the customer, the equipment you need when you need it. Our experienced staff will help advise you with your equipment needs and will quickly confirm price and availability. From our stock of over 400 hoists, winches, load cells and other lifting solutions we can offer something to meet your requirements. A large part of our rental hoists and trolleys are between 10 tonne to 50 tonne. Our hire rates reflect the length of hire, the quantity of equipment and specification required. From our head office in Aberdeen, depots in West Bromwich and Krakow Poland and our sister company Red Rooster Norge in Stavanger, we can supply our range of equipment worldwide at the most competitive rates possible. By including only Red Rooster products on our rental fleet we have both the in-house expertise and spare parts available to maintain our rental fleet to the highest standard. We carry in excess of 90,000 of spare parts for pneumatic hoists alone. On completion of every hire the equipment is inspected, dismantled, refurbished and function tested prior to return to store. For every hire, the equipment is prepared as per the customers specification and then tested again before dispatch. TRAINING SERMINARS Red Rooster run three different types of training seminars designed to meet the needs of sales staff and service engineers. The aim of these seminars is to develop a good understanding of Red Rooster products, where they are used and to give assistance in how to sell our products. RRI - Sales Seminar This is a one day course for your internal and external staff to give them an introduction to all Red Rooster products. The course gives an overview of the company, our air hoists, trolleys, accessories, winches, load cells and manual equipment. The purpose of this is to develop a strong product knowledge, gain information required to quote the correct product and how to sell the benefits of Red Rooster equipment. Although questions can be asked during the course it will end with an open discussion and a questions and answers session. RRI - Advanced Sales / Product Training This is a two day course and is aimed at sales and office staff looking for a more in-depth knowledge of Red Rooster products. Day 1 - as Sales Seminar above Day 2 - attendees will be taken through the more technical aspects of Red Rooster equipment, trouble shooting possible problems and learning how to diagnose problems over the phone. They will gain an understanding on how to identify abuse or neglect of equipment and how to improve operational safety. The training session will end with general questions and individual customer problems can be discussed. RRI - Service Course This is a two day course targeted at all engineers who service, inspect or maintain Red Rooster air hoists. Day 1 - attendees will cover all Red Rooster hoist models and the various types of equipment that go along with them. They will learn about safe operation, servicing, operational checks and trouble shooting. Day 2 - will be spent working hands-on dismantling, assembling and testing hoists, learning inspection techniques, safety and how to diagnose faults. You will learn about standard replacement parts and when to replace them. A complete set of parts lists will be given to all attendees. At the end of this course engineers will receive a certificate of attendance and will be more confident in the repair of hoists, cutting down on future repair time and saving on costly returns.
