IMPORTANT INFORMATION March 2014 Supertram Rail Replacement Project service information for the period March 2014 - September 2014 For information on tickets and services: www.supertram.com
What is happening and why? Supertram and SYPTE are investing in the future of Sheffield s tram network by carrying out essential rail replacement work. The next stage of works are planned to start at the end of March 2014 and will be split into four separate phases. For each phase works will be concentrated in one area of the tramway. A dedicated tram replacement bus service will operate on the affected section. Please note that trams will continue to operate from all other tramstops. Works for this year are planned to finish in September. The rail works are to replace worn rail, this is to ensure that we can continue to operate a smooth, reliable and safe system for years to come. Parts of this year s works will also enable new extra trams and Tram Train vehicles to operate on the Supertram system (planned for 2016). How will it affect me? There may be times when tram services will have to be replaced by a dedicated bus service between certain stops on the route. Trams will continue to operate at all stops outside the works area. Information will be at tramstops and online - visit www.supertram.com Tour De France No rail works are planned for the week prior to the Grand Depart stage finish in Sheffield on Sunday 6 July 2014. An enhanced tram service will operate between the City Centre and Meadowhall for passengers wishing to see the finish. For more details visit supertram.com nearer the time.
