Broader reach, more efficient Everything under control Easy operation for improved working Putzmeister specially developed the PUMI large boom for operation on many different types of construction site under the most varied conditions using only one machine. The flexible 4-arm booms can reach the exact spot at even the most remote concrete placement sites. The newly developed lengthways installed core pump with 80 m 3 /h delivery rate and 50 bar delivery pressure provides the necessary power and pressure reserves. Cramped construction sites or narrow access routes pose no problems for the PUMI with its compact design. The support area of the machine is reduced to a minimum because of the dual telescoping support at the front and the T0 support at the rear. 2 The effectiveness of the PUMI depends entirely on the ease of operation of the machine. All control elements should be easy to access and the machine operator should be able to control their function without difficulty. The EGD graphic display integrated in the control cabinet gives the machine operator the option of viewing all important operating data for the machine at any time. All relevant parameters such as the engine speed, oil temperature and possible faults can be viewed on the display at a glance. In addition, the machine operator can adjust the concrete pressure and the engine output to suit the prevailing conditions at the construction site. Should a fault occur during operation, the operator can locate the fault quickly and easily via the display. Failed sensors can be deactivated and the concrete pump can continue to operate in emergency operating mode. Faulty sensors that cause interruptions at the construction site are thing of the past. 6 S transfer tube piston pump An efficient agitator makes sure that no deposits remain in the hopper, even with coarse and stiff concrete, and that the concrete is supplied to the intake area efficiently. Both the hard-faced S-valve as well as the wear plates in the hopper result in a long lifetime of the concrete pump. The slewable hinged elbow on the hopper is ideal for stationary applications. The pipe is positioned centrally on the hopper and can be turned to discharge concrete in any direction. When the delivery cylinders require cleaning, the pipe can be opened in seconds, making the entire intake area easily accessible. The large diameter of the delivery cylinder guarantee a good filling capacity for all types of concrete. Hopper with agitator 3 5 4 Folding elbow pipe for simple cleaning and for connecting pipes and hose lines If the radio remote control poses an obstruction during cleaning work, the concrete pump can be operated via the control panel at the left rear of the PUMI. Other functions such as opening and closing the hopper flap or lifting and lowering the chute both controlled via the control panel are available as an optional extra. Mixer operation from the driver s cab is also optional. With the optional mixer control panel the driver has the possibility to operate various mixer-functions from the inside of the cabin. For example, the slump of the concrete can be estimated based on the hydraulic pressure of the mixer pump, which is displayed on the panel. Accessories It all depends on the right equipment Ergonic Improved safety, convenience and maximum cost effectiveness for your PUMI 9 11 The computer-assisted Ergonic control continuously monitors and controls the most important component groups, such as the concrete pump, mixer drum and engine data for the truck allowing the driver to operate the PUMI with maximum productivity and efficiency while requiring minimal intervention. 14 Water for every occasion The large 750 l water tank on the PUMI can be filled from either side of the machine. The series-standard flushing water pump with 15 bar pressure and a delivery capacity of 230 l/min provides sufficient water for cleaning or construction site requirements. An air-pressurized watertank (650 l) including a high pressure waterpump with 140 bar is available as an option. Functional and safe The PUMI module cabinet houses the hydraulic control and electric control box, and protects them from atmospheric exposure and unauthorized access. It also offers the driver an additional lockable storage space. 10 12 13 Effective storage The storage containers, as shown here next to the core pump, can hold a host of accessories such as couplings and reduction components. Practical: accessories stored in the wire grid container can also be cleaned there. Over the edge Once pumping has finished, the chute can be swivelled to one side and the machine can be operated as a truck mixer. The two extension chutes can then be attached. The EPS Ergonic Pump System controls the concrete pump fully electronically and optimises the pumping process. All pumping data is recorded, evaluated and adjusted by sensors for optimised operation. Pumping becomes quieter, switching noises are eliminated and pressure peaks are minimised. In addition, the smoother pumping process reduces vibrations on the machine and boom. Also, the electric central lubrication of the concrete pump is controlled by the EPS. The free-flow hydraulics (FFH) are a decisive factor for efficient pumping. The closed fluid circuit in the FFH system transfers more power while losing less energy, which in turn consumes less fuel and is therefore more economical. Compared to a conventional system with a back-up hydraulic fluid reservoir where valves limit the flow of oil, an intelligent control unit on the FFH directs the oil to the drive cylinders with minimal energy losses. Expensive control blocks that cause unnecessary heating of the hydraulic fluid are no longer present and the hydraulic system is easier to service as a result. EMC Ergonic Mixer Control The series-standard EMC allows the operator to control the mixer drum via the remote radio control. Machine operators can conveniently control the Mix, Empty, Fast and Slow functions from their current location on the construction site. EOC Ergonic Output Control The delivery rate of the pump is adjusted directly on the radio remote control via a single rotary knob. The electronic system on the EOC then optimises the engine speed, while maximising fuel consumption and minimising wear and noise. Inefficient operation, e.g. full throttle with minimal delivery rate, can be avoided with the EOC. If the boom is not moved and the pump is switched off, the engine reverts to idling speed after 10 seconds. 15 4 5

Robust design and not a gram too heavy Booms The structure of the PUMI booms is carefully calculated and designed for 10 years active operation. Not only are boom maintenance costs minimised, the availability of the machine is increased as a result of minimal downtimes for repairs. Mixer drums from Liebherr Like all components on the PUMI, the Liebherr mixer drum also stands for high quality and maximum durability. The drums are manufactured from high-strength special steel, guaranteeing a long service life. To avoid unnecessary weight on the mixer, the material thickness of the drum was adapted to match the drum s wearing characteristics. The spirals are welded throughout and are also protected against wear. Smooth surfaces make cleaning easier. Hydraulic fluid reservoir Space-saving: The hydraulic fluid reservoir is integrated in the boom pedestal for maximum utilisation of the space available. Robust mechanics All mechanic core components have been conceived to perform in continuous service. Based on Finite Element Calculations, all parts have been optimized to reach a minimum possible weight. Therefore, boom, pedestal, hydraulic cylinders and slewing head build a safe basis for a robust, field-proven machine. 17 16 Delivery line A DN 125 delivery line is attached to the PUMI 28 as standard. This minimises wear and ensures a lower delivery pressure. The PUMI 31 has a reach 3 metres longer and is fitted with a DN 100 delivery line, which consists of straight pipes and standard delivery line bends with a wide radius. Balanced axle loads with compact dimensions The main goal of the PUMI is to maximize the concrete load in the drum without exceeding the total permissable gross weight. This also refers to the single axle weights. It can be achieved by a balanced arrangement of concrete drum and pump on the chassis. Only then the machine can be operated legally and reach a maximum lifetime. Support The dual telescoping support at the front makes sure the machine stands firm and can be extended in the most compact of spaces. The T0 support at the rear does not protrude beyond the vehicle width when fully extended. 6 7
