CONTROL LAMBDA INSTALLATION MANUAL The CONTROL LAMBDA is tailored to be installed on vehicles where the GASOLINE NGV dual conversion has to be done caring for environment with its highest performance. The GAS AIR mixture is controlled by a regulation system through a motor installed on the GAS input hose. This system also controls the injectors emulator (outer device), the ignition advance (outer device), the Lambda sensor emulator (included in the device), the digital switcher (included in the device) by means of a RS232 connection with a PC. Description: To control the GAS-AIR mixture, the device takes the following signals: Sensor Lambda, MAP or MAF, TPS, RPM and keeps its control through a follow-up system. Sensor de mariposa MAP RPM PC DIGITAL Display Injectors Emulator FOLLOW-UP Motor Timing Advance Processor 1

Installation: See the device diagram. Software Installation: Programming: Software Description: If this is the first time you use Control Lambda system, please check the software as shown below: a) Principal Screen Tools Bar Real Time Chart Gas or Gasoline mode Permitted Functioning Range underneath 1000 RPM Follow-up Mode Display Permitted Functioning Range over 1000 RPM Advance Display TPS Display Sensor Lambda Display Curve Adjustment Bar Cylinders Configuration Auto Manual Selection RPM Display PICTURE 1 2

You can enter any of the program parameters from the principal screen. To enter the parameters in the chart Apertura RPM, mouse-click on the chart arrow icon. b) Peripherals Adjustment You can enter this screen mouse-clicking on the advance display (see PICTURE 1) or going to Seteos and to Periféricos (see PICTURE 1) and you will enter the following screen: Mouse-click here to adjust the chart TPS Cut: it eliminates the advance when the TPS is below the programmed value. It can be adjusted clicking on it with the mouse and keeping the left button pressed or with right-left arrows for an accurate adjustment. Emulation Time: is the GASOLINE GAS superposition time for the fuel-mode switching. Fixed Advance: is a fixed advance along the curve when the vehicle is working on constant mode. If you choose this option, specify the desired fixed advance on the text chart. 3

There are three types of Emulation: a) Normal Sensor Emulation: mouse-clicking on it, emulation parameters are automatically adjusted. b) Build-up Sensor Emulation: the user has to select High Time, Low Time, High Level and Low Level. c) Cut Sensor Emulation: sensor will be automatically adjusted as if it were cut. 2) Lambda Sensor: desired sensor values for the Follow-Up functioning are programmed here. Normal-Inverted Lambda Sensor: 0 = normal sensor 1 = inverted sensor. Rich Lambda Sensor: shows the rich mixture over values in mv (millivolts). The Follow-Up motor will start to close itself when Lambda Sensor values are superior to the programmed ones. Poor Lambda: shows the poor mixture under values in mv (millivolts). The Follow- Up motor will start to open itself when Lambda Sensor values are inferior to the programmed ones. 3) Lambda Sensor in acceleration: mixture parameters are changed in acceleration to balance the gas switcher. Delta TPS: displays the value in mv (millivolts) over which the device recognizes acceleration and turns on the Sensor in acceleration. Time: displays the acceleration time in ms (milliseconds). 1000 ms = 1 second. Rich Lambda Sensor: displays the new value considered Rich Sensor. Poor Lambda Sensor: displays the new value considered Poor Sensor. 4) Ignition: this dialog box enables you to set the vehicle ignition time. Time Switching: if this is ticked, GAS switching will not be done during the Time box programmed time. If this is not ticked, GAS switching will be done while motor is working on the calibration line (yellow line on principal screen, see PICTURE 1) until Time box programmed time is over. 5

d) CUT-OFF Adjustments: This system has 2 programmable CUT-OFF. 1) Minimum CUT-OFF: this CUT-OFF works when the RPM are over the Minimum CUT-OFF programmed RPM and under the Maximum CUT-OFF programmed RPM. RPM: displays the RPM over which the CUT-OFF is on. Position: displays the position on which the Follow-Up Motor will work when this function is on. Keeping Time: displays the time in ms (milliseconds) this function will be kept. Opening Speed: displays the Follow-Up motor speed at programmed position on Posición box. Closing Speed: displays the Follow-up motor speed when the CUT-OFF finishes. TPS: displays the TPS position value below which the system will switch to CUT- OFF. Important Note: two conditions must be fulfilled so that the device CUTs-OFF, RPM must be over the programmed RPM and the TPS must be below the value programmed in the TPS. 2) Maximum CUT-OFF: idem. 3) Sensitivity: with this parameter the vehicle does not CUT-OFF when the motor is empty. It could happen that if the motor is accelerated and decelerated, it is stopped. 4) RPM of cut: this parameter shows that over these RPM the vehicle will switch to Gasoline automatically. e) Acceleration Sets: They are used to compensate the GAS mixer at acceleration. Click on Seteos and on Seteos de Acceleration. The below screen will appear: 7

Delta TPS: displays the TPS movement and its functioning. Position: this value can be positive or negative (add the sign in front of the number). The device will increase or decrease its transfer curve. Keeping Time: displays time in ms (milliseconds) of this function. Opening Speed: displays the Follow-Up motor time speed to the programmed position on Posición box. Closing Speed: displays the Follow-Up motor speed when the CUT-OFF finishes. f) Speed: These parameters define the Follow-Up motor speed. To go to this screen, click on Seteos and then on Speed (translation: speed). 8

Speeds are defined in ms (milliseconds). They indicate how often the motor will move. For instance, if it is programmed 40 ms, it means that every 40 ms the motor will be opened or closed. Speed in Apertura/Opening: displays the speed the motor will be opened over 1000 RPM Speed in Cierre/Closing: displays the speed the motor will be closed over 1000 RPM Speed in Ralentí Apertura/Opening: displays the speed the motor will be opened under 1000 RPM Speed in Ralentí Cierre/Closing: displays the speed the motor will be closed under 1000 RPM System Functioning: Once the device is installed on the vehicle, connect it by means of the cable RS232 to the computer on which you will programme it. Control Lambda programming can be easily done: a) Programming can be started when the vehicle is in contact. First check the parameters. Notice the device is already programmed with a general programme. b) c) When you open the PC system, the principal screen will appear. Start the verification. d) Go to the parameters as explained above, verify the Advance values, Lambda Sensor, Acceleration, motor speed. e) Verify the CUT-OFFs are deactivated entering the CUT-OFF screen and set the TPS regulators in 0 so that the system is deactivated, once the stating programming is done, the CUT-OFFs can be activated. 9
