Issue 144 UK & EIRE 2 Guineas (2.10) USA $5.00 Armstrong Siddeley Lancaster The third livery of the 1:43 scale Armstrong Siddeley Lancaster brings us a Langham Grey version. This elegant immediate post-war sports saloon was made by Armstrong Siddeley between 1945 and 1952. The four door, 6 light saloon body was made of steel and aluminum panels fitted over a wooden frame, bought in from the famous Mulliner company. With a sunshine roof fitted as standard, a rare wire wheel option and four-speed gearbox, it was the epitome of style after the dark days of WWII. Armstrong Siddeley Lancaster - Langham Grey ASL003 1:43 20.95 Bentley S1 Continental Fastback Coupé Prestige, style and affluence are epitomised in the superb, newly tooled 1:43 scale Oxford replica of this 1950s car. At first glance the S1 type did not appear much different from its predecessor the R type but it was entirely new, with a host of improvements. The S type was officially introduced in April 1955 and our version is based on a car launched a year later in 1956. The bodywork features the famous Mulliner fastback styling in shell grey to give it the original paint colour - but it is in effect silver, with a black interior. In real life, the majority had automatic gearboxes although a very small number only about 16 were fitted with a manual gearbox. Power steering also became an option from 1956 onwards. Our model, with registration 490 JLC, has had some illustrious owners in the past, including Sir Alan Sugar and Elton John. Bentley S1 Continental Fastback - Shell Grey BCF001 1:43 20.95

Tonibell (with cow) Bedford CA Ice Cream Enthusiasts collecting the Oxford series of Ice Cream Vans will agree this is an absolute cracker! The latest all over pink liveried Tonibell van represents one of the most famous ice cream vending companies of the 1960s. The Tonibell vans, launched in 1960, were originally blue but changed to the hot pink colour in 1969 and have remained in this colour scheme ever since. The Tonibell ice cream chimes were unique, as was the Tonibell cow on the roof, although this feature disappeared in the 1970s when the vehicle suppliers to the company changed. Their slogan was famous too - Make Mine a 99 which was emblazoned on the sides of the van. There were lots of other colourful images to attract sales, including windows full of pictures and prices of the different ices on offer. Many of these have been faithfully reproduced on the Oxford replica, including the cautionary signs on the rear of the van Slow and Watch that Child. The model carries the registration number DTU 250F and we wonder how many of you may have queued up for your 99 at this particular van, with the Tonibell Cow chiming and looking down on you from the roof. 1:43 Tonibell (with cow) Bedford CA Ice Cream CA027 1:43 11.95 Happy Birthday Mini Car MIN017 1:43 7.95 Just Married Mini Car MIN016 1:43 7.95 Gift Minis We are adding to our range three minis as gift items. Heinkel HE162 AC019 1:72 11.99 AVIATION Heinkel He 162A-2 Salamander (Volksjäger) II/JG 1 Einsatz Gruppe 1, Leck, Germany 1945 The Heinkel He 162 Volksjäger (People s Fighter) was a German single-engine jet-powered fighter aircraft used by the Luftwaffe in WWII. It was designed and built very quickly, taking its first flight in December 1944 and entering service in 1945. Only around 170 were built but it was one of the fastest of the first generation of jets. The German Air Ministry named it Volksjäger but other names included Salamander - the construction codename, and Spatz (Sparrow), which the manufacturers Heinkel called it. The Oxford Aviation replica recalls the final days of WWII in Europe and the final combat operations involving the He 162. Our model comes in the authentic He 162A-2 livery of dark green with blue grey underside. Arado AR196 A-3. 2.SAGr 125 Crete, Eastern Mediterranean, 1941 The Arado was a German reconnaissance seaplane which served aboard many of the famous German Navy ships of the day, including the cruiser Graf Spee and battleship Bismarck. It was designed by Walter Blume and over 500 were built by the German firm Arado between 1939 and 1944. The Arado AR 196 enjoyed great success and was loved by the pilots for its easy handling both on land and on water. The new Oxford Arado release of the A-3 variant comes in the livery as it was operated by 2.SAGr (Seeaufklarungsgruppe) 125 based in Crete, in 1941. The Arado was deployed as a reconnaissance plane escorting merchant ships in the area. Our model is decorated in the dark green camouflage livery with duck egg blue underside. Black Prince moved into scheduled service operation, launching a number of routes centred on Morley in competition with Yorkshire Rider. A variety of second-hand vehicles were acquired to operate the routes, and a livery of red and yellow introduced.
