Stock Class Rules 2018 EVENT RULES DISCLAIMER The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all events, and by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM PUBLICATIONS OF OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND OR REGULATIONS. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator, or official. The race director shall be empowered to permit reasonable and appropriate deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his/her opinion does not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. Any American made full size car except Chrysler Imperials, Hearse, Suicide Lincolns, 4x4, Limousines. 1. Body: A. Remove all glass, chrome, mirrors, plastic and decking in wagons B. Lite creasing allowed on rear qtrs ONLY. (Trunk has to open for inspection) Quarters must stay in the vertical position. NO tucking, NO pre bending. C. Hood must be open for inspection. No Exceptions! D. No Bolting of body panels. E. No welding or patching of body panels anywhere F. NO WELDING unless stated in rules G. Driver s door may be welded solid all other doors may be chained, welded (3 spots on vertical door seam, 3 square plates) or wired in 3 spots only. Roof signs are strongly recommended for scoring purposes. a. One spot only, per door, may be wired or chained around frame 3 wraps max b. No lacing of windows with wire or chain c. 3/8 max size if chained d. Drivers door plate may be used may not exceed size of drivers door. (this is not mandatory, unless you don t have a cage) H. Hoods-may have four tie downs. 5/8 max all thread from inside frame and core support (2 max spacing between core support and frame) thru hood with 4 x4 square plate ¼ Max thickness as tie down plate on hood (1 per side), wire wraps on sheet metal only on side of hood. Hoods must open at inspection. NO half hoods. I. Trunks may be wired or chained in 6 spots with a 12 inspection hole, wagons 4 spots on tailgate, no welding. You may change back 2 body bolts with 5/8 max all thread from inside frame to top of trunk pan. 4 x4 square plate ¼ max thick plate on top of trunk pan. May run ½ trunk lids. Note: Wire must be sheet metal to sheet metal, NOT around frame
J. All body mounts must remain original factory with exception of front 2 core support bolts 5/8 max. 2 rear trunk body bolts 5/8 max only to top of trunk pan. Any other broken body mounts may have #9 wire 2 strands ran through the body and frame. No changing, replacing or repairing body bolts. K. Windshield wire or chain from cowl to roof, prevent hood from coming through windshield. This is Mandatory!! L. You can wire (3 wraps max) core support to bumper in 2 spots. Nothing in front of radiator. M. Washers may be welded on to keep wire from ripping sheet metal on hood and trunks. Washer for ¾ inch diameter bolt max. ¾ inch hardware store washer, no bigger. 2. Frames: A. Stock frames. NO WELDING ANYWHERE, NO EXCEPTIONS!! B. No creasing of frames. C. No tilting in any way D. You can notch frame. But NO pre-bending!! E. Hump plates will be allowed. 3 wide X 12 long and ¼ max thick, place in middle of hump face only. No Shaping plates. NO cutting will be allowed after inspection. Plates too big, you don t run, NO REFUNDS!! F. You are allowed 2-4 x 6 patches on frames; no more than a total of 2 patches per car, minimum of 4 apart. That s fresh car or pre-ran car. Once they are installed, they CANNOT be moved. No angle for patches or overlapping. Patches must be painted white and declared. Flaps on Fords CANNOT be cut and re-welded PERIOD. Not even on a pre-ran car. Tech inspection has final say on patches! G. You may re-horn a car. Butt weld only from the A-Arms forward. Horns must be from same make and model of car. 3. Drive Train: A. Any engine may be used in any make of car. B. Mounts may be factory stock style or after markets. (if you choose to run after market mounts, they can be no bigger than stock mounts.) C. Stock frame mounts may be welded to cross frame only! D. ¼ plate may be welded to cross frame in Chryslers and rear steer cars. Nothing to frame! (No Exceptions!!) E. NO protectors other than engine (motor mount) cradle on engine (5 bolts per side 10 bolt cradle) No ultra-bells. Nothing coming off of cradle (chains plates etc.). No front plates. F. Slider drive shafts are allowed. G. Any factory stock rear end allowed 5 lug 31 spline max size axles. Any gear allowed (No metal added to strengthen) Questionable axles will be pulled. H. Stock factory trailing arms. I. You can weld spider gears J. You can wire or put hose clamps on rear coil springs to keep from coming out, not hold rear of car down. K. Leaf spring cars must use only factory spring clamps and number of leafs. No flat leafs L. Headers allowed, but if stock manifolds are used you must have holes in hood in case of fire.
M. Any factory stock OEM car cross member or sq. tube no bigger than 3 x1. You may weld 2x2 angle by 6 in. to frame to mount cross member (6 away from crush box). But cross member Must be bolted in. (No Welding) If cross member is homemade it can be no longer than the one that came with that make or model of car. N. Radiators in stock position. P. You can run electric fan 4. Driver Compartment: *Cage allowed in driver s door side only Minimum 12 above floor* **Cage allowed in passenger door FOR 2018 ONLY. Side bars can t exceed dash bar** A 4 point floating cage; dash bar, two side bars, rear bar. (4 x4 material max size) B. No Front down legs of any kind. C. 60 max door bar length, rear bar 6 max behind seat. D. Roll over bar permitted. May go to floor and welded to sheet metal only. Cannot be welded or bolted to roof. No farther back than 6 from rear seat. E. You can weld cage to door post, cowl and steering column to secure cage F. Gas tank and battery must be moved, secured and covered. (1 battery only) G. Battery holder bolted to sheet metal or in seat. Limit size of battery holder. Proportioned to size of battery. Not to cover whole floor board. H. Gas tank holders must be 6 from rear sheet metal point. Don t beat metal back. Secured to sheet metal or to cage (6 off floor pan) I. 10-gallon max fuel tank size J. Steering column: After-market steering column allowed. No more than 2 knuckles in column. Steering wheel may be removable. K. Transmission coolers are permitted. Must be 6 above the floor if attached to cage, or bolted to sheet metal floor only. Must be covered or enclosed. L. Floor shifters are allowed M. After market throttles allowed. Bolted to sheet metal ONLY N. You may run aftermarket brake systems. (Plate MAX size 17 long x 10 wide. Must be bolted to sheet metal ONLY! 5. Bumpers: A. Any stock OEM car bumper or 4 x4 sq. tube 1/4 thick is permitted. You may bolt bumper to a stock bumper shock. (Maximum bolt size is ½.) Or you may weld bumper on. You may weld bumper shock face plate to bumper (Front & Rear) no adding metal allowed. You may weld bumper to frame (Butt weld only, NO adding metal.) NO WELDING OF BUMPER OR BUMPER SHOCKS PAST RADIATOR SUPPORT. Back bumper has to be stock OEM car back bumper. Can butt weld bumper to frame no added metal of any kind or back shock can be collapsed and welded to frame and face plate to bumper. B. No bolting all the way through bumpers and/or bumper shocks C. No welding of bumper skins. Bumper shocks may be collapsed and welded. D. Homemade bumpers (front only) will be allowed. 4 x 4 square tube 1/4 thick. NO POINTS, NO CAPPING ENDS. No loaded bumpers
Page 4 E. Stock bumper brackets. No altering brackets, no rear brackets on front. F. Max bumper height is 20 no lower than 14 G. May slot bumper to bolt on. NO adding metal H. May chain or wire (3 wraps max) bumpers to secure in no more than 2 spots. One 10 long 3/8 link chain per bumper shock. One bolt to attach chain to frame, ½ max diameter. Chain may be welded to bumper by one link only! 6. Tires & Rims: A. Any pneumatic tire allowed 16 max to 14 min. No foam filled or press on tires. B. Stock car or truck style rims only, Uni-lug center s (6 max dia.) ok. NO Full Centers. Valve stem protectors ok, but make them just around valve stem. C. No screws in tires or screwed to rims. NO split rims. D. You can use 1 lug nuts 7. Suspension: A. Factory stock only B. No kicking spring s, blocks or clamps on shocks. All cars must bounce. No wrapping wire around A-Arms, no welding A-Arms to frame. You will not be allowed to cut any welds, you won t run. C. No strutting D. Stock steering components, Tie rods etc. Welds only allowed on: Drivers door(solid), rest of doors 3-3 square plates per vertical seam, Cage, Spider gears, Frame mounts to cross frame for engine, Hump plates, Drive shaft and Bumpers Always ask, never assume. If rules don t say you can, then you can t!!!! Drivers only allowed in inspection area, no other crew allowed. You will pre-pay before inspection, If, your car does not pass inspection NO refunds! ***No cutting of any welds on frame or body to run unless otherwise stated in the above rules unless approved by Tech crew. IF IT DOESN T SAY YOU CAN THEN YOU CAN T.!! Drivers must wear DOT helmet, eye protection, long pants, long sleeve shirt and closed toed shoes. Fire suits are always recommended, but not required. Helmets stay on the entire time in car. Only get out of car if told ok to do so.
