Remarks 1 kg of diesel or Petrol is equivalent in terms of energy to 60 kg of battery When the petrol indicator of your car lights up, you still have 100 km of autonomy And your electric vehicle is full 11

There are different types of electromobility vehicles 4 levels of hybridation Micro hybrid stop and start Micro hybrid stop and start with energy regenaration from braking Mild hybrid Plugin hybrid or full hybrid Electric vehicule 12

Diesel or Petrol vehicle engine 120 kw Around 2 kw electrical motor (starter) 5 kg of battery Autonomy is around 800 km with 50 kg of diesel or petrol The average CO² is around 120 g/km 13

Micro Hybrid ( stop and start ) engine 120 kw Around 3 kw electrical motor Autonomy is around 800 km 7 kg of battery with 50 kg of diesel or petrol CO² reduction: 3 to 5% 14

Micro Hybrid ( stop and start with energy regenaration from braking ) engine 120 kw Around 3 kw electrical motor/alternator CO² reduction: 10% 7 to 10 kg of battery 15

Mild hybrid engine 100 kw Around 5 to 10 kw electrical motor Autonomy in electric mode: 3 to 10 km 50 to 100 kg of battery CO² reduction: 15% 16

Plugin hybrid thermal engine 100 kw Around 15 kw electrical motor Autonomy in electrical mode 10 to 60 km CO² reduction: >15% 100 to 250 kg of battery 17

Electric vehicle composition Range extender (thermal engine and alternator) 10 kw to 40 kw electrical motor Autonomy 60 to 100 km 250 to 400 kg batterie 18

Road transport priorities Development of electromobility presents a triple opportunity for the EU: To fight against climat change, To reduce dependency of the transport sector on oil To restructure the automotive sector in crisis. The low-carbon vehicle could represent 27% of the market in 2025[1]. [1] The European market is estimated to be between 50 and 90 billion euros. 19

Electromobility and Europe ERANET + The program ERANET Transport is supported by the European Commission (10 millions - WP 2011) to improve the cooperation between national programs France try to get the leadership of this action Next eranet meeting 24 of march 2010 Discussion with the commission, Predit and GTN 25 of march 2010 during the GTN meeting The green car initiative Also supported by the Commission ( 30 millions - WP 2011 =, ERTRAC is defining the program Deufrako The French/German collaboration in research mainly oriented towards rail transport is also a good support for electromobility Cross border experiment Between french and germany Leader german 20
