The key to trouble-free long-term compressor operation lies in the correct combination of cylinder ring and packing materials and design which both have to be perfectly adapted to the compressor type, the operating as well as the process conditions. The continuous vertical integration of our worldwide proven HY materials with development blending and production guarantees the highest quality standards for these critical key components throughout the entire manufacturing process. In our research laboratories engineers develop and test our continually improved HY materials and ring and packing designs for operation under a wide variety of different process conditions. New solutions to old problems OT oil wiper packing Thermosleeve packing BOT ring pair Leaking oil wiper packings may induce massive problems in applications where oil-free service is required. In addition, they cause an unnecessarily high level of oil consumption as well as increased recycling and disposal costs. Thanks to their special design, OT oil wiper packings offer a truly efficient oil seal since oil can hardly enter the packing and potential oils residues are removed completely. OT oil wiper packings have proven themselves in numerous applications all over the globe and contribute a big share to safe, economical and environmentally friendly reciprocating compressor operation. In many applications our Thermosleeve packing replaces the need for a cooled packing. The frictional heat from the Thermosleeve packing is conducted into the main compressor cylinder cooling system via direct contact with an expanding sleeve. Traditional designs can result in leakage of coolant where corrosion is present or space is limited. This in turn can contaminate internal systems. Thermosleeve packing cases can be easily retrofitted into existing units and are ideal partners for our BOT ring pairs. Packing rings have to evenly reduce the whole cylinder pressure throughout the packing. In traditional packings the first ring typically seals most of the pressure and shows higher friction and wear than the rest of the packing rings. The BOT rings special design enables even load distribution across all the ring pairs as well as further pressure reduction by means of the pressure balancing groove. This means lower friction and less heat generation thus significantly extending the operating life time of the rings and the whole packing.
