This information document is provided such that interested firms may understand the possible scope of works and the associated opportunity. PROJECT BACKGROUND Fiji Airways as Fiji s national airline are based at Nadi International Airport. Fiji Airways wish to reduce their carbon footprint and their electrical costs through the installation of solar arrays on the available sites and buildings both within their Nadi headquarters and hanger complex and the new Fiji Aviation Academy building which is to be constructed in Namaka, Nadi. The relative site locations are detailed below with the main headquarters circled in blue and the new Fiji Airways Aviation Academy in green. Both sites are adjacent the airport and located within 1 kilometre of Nadi Bay. Installations therefore need to be mindful of the marine exposure of the site.
Page 2 of 8 EXISTING FACILITIES: NADI HEADQUARTERS The existing Nadi Headquarters and Hanger provides a large area and site for a roof mounted Solar PV installation. MAIN BUILDING The main hanger has three separate roofs with main hanger roof having lower roofs to the western and northern sides.

Page 6 of 8 EXISTING ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION The power supply to the premises is via 2 x 500kVA Fiji Electricity Authority (FEA) substation transformers connected in parallel. These transformers are housed within a substation building and located adjacent to the carpark area. There is a site main switchboard (SMSB) within the Hangar Building from which all loads are distributed. The mains power to the SMSB is currently backed up by 2 standby generators rated at 181Kva and 400kVA and the loads within the SMSB are separated by two essential Bus Bars with separate Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) on each bus bar. The generator installation is to be upgraded to 1 MW in the next 12 months. All outgoing low voltage sub main cables to all electrical distribution boards are reticulated from this SMSB via perforated cable trays and cable ladders to all levels. The total forecast peak load 600 kva at the maximum compared to an installed capacity of 1000 kva. Average load is 277kVA based on logging results over two days.
Page 7 of 8 NEW FACILITIES: FIJI AVIATION ACADEMY The new Fiji Aviation Academy building is intended to incorporate solar arrays in its design. The below preliminary roof plan has the likely solar array panel locations nominated on the north facing roofs with each array area being approximately 250m2.. Preliminary roof plan : Fiji Aviation Academy. SCOPE OF WORKS: SOLAR INSTALLATION The work carried out shall comprise the design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning and defects liability and maintenance of the proposed Solar PV installations located at the sites as previously nominated. The respondent shall be responsible for submitting all technical information for their proposed panels, inverters, protection relay, controls system, structural supports and accessories as part of their proposal submission. The documents show the general intent and do not show all equipment and scope required to complete the works.
Page 8 of 8 The work includes but is not limited to the following main elements: Liaison with FEA, Fiji Airways, Airports Fiji Limited and CAAF for the proposed Solar PV installation including pre-approval. Temporary builder s power. Installation of PV panel, inverters, protection relay, control system and all accessories for a fully functioning grid system. Switchboard upgrades, alterations and additions to cater for the Solar PV installations. New metering to cater for Solar PV installation. Cables, installation and termination. Cabling and cable support systems. Roof penetrations and decktite seals on roof penetrations. Earthing. Accessories and appliances. Equipment supports and bracing. Liaison with other trades. Maintenance Manuals. As-Installed Drawings. Training. Maintenance during 12 months defects liability period. Safe Roof access systems for Maintenance Purposes where panels are installed within 3 m of roof edges. The above scope is preliminary and subject to development and change by Fiji Airways. The delivery methodology is as a Supply delivery and training (and potentially operate) solution incorporating the following hold points: 1. Proposal submission 2. Proposal approval 3. Design submissions and preapproval phase. 4. Technical compliance review 5. Site delivery 6. Site acceptance testing 7. Training 8. Acceptance/Handover 9. Operations and Maintenance phase. Proposals from respondents are expected to include the following ownership options: Capital procurement and outright ownership by Fiji Airways. Lease costs per annum. Purchase of power supplied per kw/hr.
