R&D Center 18 R&D Center was launched in 2010 to faciliate precursor and carbon fiber development. Objectives of R&D Center: development of new processes; increasing operational performance of existing production facilities with new equipment and technologies; R&D testing facilities: polymerisation: A laboratory for synthesis of PAN polymer dope and development of PAN precursor spinning technologies. two pilot-scale PAN spinning lines (a third pilot spinning line will be launched in 2012); carbon fibre technology testing lab: lab-scale oxidation, carbonisation and graphitisation line.

Polyacrylonitrile fibers (PAN) 1.1. study of different polymerization methods; 1.2. study of different polymer dopes; 1.3. study of different spinning methods; 1.4. analysis of different fiber stretching and orientation methods; 1.5. modification of fiber with nanoparticles. 19 2.
