SeedCommand Ag Leader Technology Preliminary Installation Requirements Implement must be lowered to ground or resting on hydraulic safety stops before beginning installation. Do not rely on hydraulic system alone to support implement. Hydraulics can fail resulting in serious injury or death. Read these instructions completely before beginning installation. They cover multiple clutch setups, so a thorough understanding is essential before beginning. Pay particular attention to Figures 1, 2 & 3. They may help to clarify any questions that arise about the installation. 4 January 2017 Rev D

SeedCommand Ag Leader Technology Installing Clutch and Output chain Step-by-Step Procedure Required Parts: Part Number: (1) clutch 4001624 (3) Carriage bolt 1/4 in. x 1 in. 2002021-25100 (3) Hex nylock nut 1/4 in. 2002055-25 (3) Flat washer 1/4 in. 2002071-25 (10) Flat washer 3/8 in. 202071-38 (2) Carriage bolt 3/8 in. x 1-3/4 in. 2002021-38175 (2) Hex nylock nut 3/8 in. 2002055-38 (1) Drill bit 9/32 in. 2001036-281 (1) Transfer punch 11/32 in. 2001003-34 (1) Output chain 4001700 (1) Drill template Case IH 1200 4001714 (Above quantities are for one row unit) 1. Remove seed hopper and seed meter assembly from row unit. 2. Find connecting link on seed meter drive chain and remove outer retaining clip. Next remove tension from chain by pressing top of chain tensioner down and remove chain from seed meter drive sprocket. Finally remove connecting link and remove chain from row unit. 3. Remove chain tensioner assembly and chain idler from row unit. All pieces from chain tensioner assembly and chain idler will be reused in later steps except for the through bolts and retaining nuts. (See Figure 4.) Chain tensioner assembly and chain idler 4. Find template included in kit. Install template on inside of row unit as shown in Figure 5. 5. Using supplied center punch; mark three holes in row unit. Remove template. 8 January 2017 Rev D Figure 4: Case IH OEM Chain Tensioner and Idler Assembly
Ag Leader Technology SeedCommand 6. Using drill and supplied 9/32 in. stubby drill bit, drill out holes that were marked in previous step. After holes have been drilled, check to see if any burrs are left and remove as necessary. Figure 5: Drill template installed inside of row unit Note: Align bottom of template with bottom of row unit side. Align left side of template with right side of seed meter drive sprocket mounting bracket as shown in Figure 5. 7. Install clutch on inside of row unit using 1/4 in. x 1 in. carriage bolt, 1/4 in. washer and 1/4 in. lock nut. Do not tighten nuts at this time. PN: 2005942 January 2017 Rev D 9
SeedCommand Ag Leader Technology 8. Remove two (2) bolts and two (2) nuts from seed meter sprocket mounting bracket. Install two (2) 3/8 in. x 1-3/4 in. carriage bolts into same holes. NOTE Bulk Fill - Install five (5) 3/8 in. flat washers on each bolt then re-install seed meter drive sprocket. With bolts tight measure the width of the installed washer stack and then remove that amount from the tangs on the drive sprocket as shown in Figure 6. The amount removed should be about 3/8in. Seed Boxes CAUTION Less than (5) 3/8 in. flat washers may be required for proper chain clearance. Install five (5) 3/8 in. flat washers on each bolt then re-install seed meter drive sprocket. Hang the short chain on the gear as shown in Figure 6. Place the seed meter onto the row unit to insure that the chain does not make contact with the seed box. If the chain hits the box then remove an equal number of washers from each bolt until the chain clears. With bolts tight measure the width of the installed washer stack and then remove that amount from the tangs on the drive sprocket as shown in Figure 6. 9. Reinstall seed meter and check for clearance between tangs on seed meter drive sprocket and cog gears of seed meter. If tangs interfere with seed meter cogs, remove additional material from tangs. See Figure 7. for proper engagement. 10. Install output chain on seed meter sprocket and inside sprocket of clutch. Tighten chain by sliding clutch towards front of row unit and tighten three (3) nuts that attach clutch to row unit. DO NOT over tighten chain. The chain should have 1/4 in. of play midway between the two sprockets as shown in Figure 6. 10 January 2017 Rev D
