Installation instructions for Bailey Motorsport DV30 Diverter Valves Porsche 996 Twin Turbo Thank you for purchasing your Bailey Motorsport DV30 bypass valves. With the Bailey Motorsport DV30 bypass valves, we believe you have purchased the finest diverter valves currently available. Bailey Motorsport were the inventors of the piston type diverter valve, and have perfected its design over years of track and street testing. Follow these instructions, and you ll have your new Bailey valves installed quickly and easily. Included with your Bailey valve kit: Two Bailey Motorsport DV30 diverter valves Four 20-32mm size hose clamps Two short length zip ties Tools required for this install: Medium flat blade screwdriver Pliers 6mm socket 10mm socket Medium length socket extension with universal swivel Install time: Approx. 1 hour Installation of the Bailey Motorsport DV30s requires accessing the engine from above. Please install the valves only on a cool engine to avoid chance of injury. Open engine compartment On the driver side, locate the positive battery terminal and remove its mounting bolt with the 10mm socket wrench, at points A Stock diverter valves are located at points B. Remove the large boost hose fastening clip with the flathead screwdriver. Pull free boost hose from throttle body y-pipe. Cover opening of the boost hose and the throttle body y-pipe with rags to prevent accidentally dropping parts into the intake. Copyright 2003, 2008, A.W.E. Tuning. On a fully cool engine, remove the coolant reservoir cap to relieve any residual cooling system pressure. With the pliers, pinch the hose clamp at point A, and slide down the hose away from the reservoir. Gently pull the hose free from the reservoir. Disconnect the 10mm vacuum hose. Press down on the gray button with the thumb of your left hand and pull apart. Disconnect the 20mm vacuum hose by first removing the grey plastic c-clip with the screwdriver. Then push on the black ring with the screwdriver while gently pulling back on the hose. Gently move both the 10mm and 20mm hoses out of the way towards the passenger side of the engine compartment. Disconnect the the 3.5mm vacuum hose from the top of the rear (towards rear of car) stock diverter valve. With pliers, pinch the hose clamp fastening the F-hose to the y-pipe. Slide the clamp away from the y-pipe. Loosen the bottom hose clamp of the rear diverter valve with the 6mm socket on the universal swivel and extension. Loosen the side hose clamp of the rear diverter valve with the 6mm socket on the universal swivel and extension. Fully remove the rear diverter valve. Disconnect the the 3.5mm vacuum hose from the top of the front stock diverter valve. Loosen the bottom hose clamp of the front (towards front of car) diverter valve with the 6mm socket on the universal swivel and extension. Remove the entire F-hose with the front diverter valve still attached. Loosen the side hose clamp of the front diverter valve and remove from F- hose. Copyright 2003, A.W.E. Tuning. Installation of the Bailey Motorsport DV30 diverter valves is essentially the reverse of removal. Note the different orientations of the angled vacuum fittings on the top of the valves in the picture. Use the enclosed short zip ties to fasten the 3.5mm vacuum hoses to the Bailey Motorsport DV30 diverter valves during reassembly.
