Karachi Transport Improvement Plan 2030 In order to improve the transport situation in Karachi city KARACHI TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT STUDY PROJECT 2010 12 was conducted by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in association with Karachi Mass Transit Cell (KMTC), Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) including preparation of Transport Master Plan with 2030 Vision
Karachi Transport Improvement Plan 2030 The JICA Study Team has reviewed the corridors and the systems in previous plans and analyzed alternatives corridors and systems. The master plan network consists of Karachi Circular Railway (KCR), Two Mass Rapid Transits (MRTs) named as Blue Line and Brown Line and 6 Bus Rapid Transits (BRTs) along major corridors.

BRT Yellow Line JICA identified Red, Green and Yellow Line as priority corridors and completed technical feasibility study for Red and Green Line. Feasibility Study of Yellow Line being undertaken by the Advisory Consortium of In order to implement the JICA Master Plan, BRT Yellow Line has been launched (as Pilot Project) for International Competitive Bidding. EoI for Pre-Qualification has been published on 1 st January 2014.

Project Implementation Plan The project is being procured as three separate contracts for the three major components of the project Party A Infrastructure Development Party B Bus Operation Services Party C Revenue Collection & ITS Services Development and Maintenance of Infrastructure Compensation Annuity Payments over Concession Period Procurement and Operations of Buses Payment on per km basis with elements of inflation and pass through items built into formula Revenue Collection (Fare and Non-Fare) and ITS Service Compensation based on % payment surcharge Prospective Bidders are welcome to participate in more than one category of the above three components
