4 International Training & Competence Center The new International Training & Competence Centre of Snap-on Equipment opened at the Bavarian Snap-on location in Unterneukirchen / Germany, halfway between Munich and Salzburg, offering an ample space of more than 1000 m 2. Snap-on Equipment offers a variety of trainings, all customised to suit the prior knowledge of the candidates. Training conditions are ideal because the training centre is furnished with the complete line of products of the Hofmann, John Bean and Cartec brands. Well-trained technicians are the backbone of a garage. In the International Training & Competence Centre our customers are trained by professional trainers. The International Training Centre has been approved by wdk (Association of German Tyre & Rubber Industry) to carry out training for mounting and demounting of UHP and run-flat tyres in line with wdk requirements.
International Training & Competence Center 5 In addition to product and user trainings for everyone from the beginner to the professional user Snap-on offers special trainings such as training in line with German Health and Safety at Work regulations for automotive lifts, or trainings for service technicians to carry out single conformity inspections on brake testers and test lanes. The trainings are adopted to the prior knowledge of the candidates, theory and practice are combined in the best possible way. So the candidates come to know and to use the full potential of wheel aligners, wheel balancers, tyre changers and brake testers. Professional seminar rooms, small groups and experienced trainers guarantee a high level of satisfaction amongst candidates who will afterwards perform their work with increased efficiency and professionalism.

Special Training 31 Tyre Changing on UHP and Run-Flat Tyres in Line with wdk Requirements Advanced Level Target group: Candidates with completed vocational training / apprenticeship as car mechanics or the like, or at least 3 years experience in tyre service. Access conditions: Certificate of training / advanced training of tyre mounting operations with tyre manufacturer or the like, knowledge in tyre technology, mounting procedures of conventional tyres, knowledge of legal standards and directives, tyre and wheel tests and fundamentals of suspension, wheel and axle geometry. Access conditions to be proved by wkd certificate. Access test (verification of theoretical knowledge), theory (system components, legal requirements), practical training (mounting run-flat and UHP tyres of various sizes on various certified tyre changers). 34 Special Training Proof of Competency for the Use and Service of A/C Units in Line with German VDA, VDIK and ZDK Standards Target: According to the regulation on certain ozone-depleting halogenated hydrocarbons (CFC regulation) the use of certain refrigerants is no longer admissible in air conditioning systems of motor vehicles. The use of refrigerants in air conditioning systems of motor vehicles is subject to the provisions of the clean air act. Consequently the safe and reliable use of various A/C service equipment is very important. Proof of competency for service of automotive A/C systems in line with 5, chapter 2, no. 5 of the chemicals climate protection regulation. Special Training 35 In-Depth Diagnostics with the Scope Objectives: Target group: About 80% of fault codes defined by the automotive industry do not refer to the relative components, but to their electric circuits. Reading of fault codes with a scan tool is consequently only the beginning of in-depth diagnostics. In order to reliably diagnose defects in car / electronics, the expert requires additional diagnostic tools such as a VOM and/or a scope. Therefore, the reliable use of a 2/4-channel scope is a must for every diagnostic technician. Organisational Details 37 The application will have to be submitted in writing at least 2 weeks prior to training date, specifying the relative course code. Applications will be accepted only with the application form completely filled in. Once submitted the application will become binding. For cancellations within two weeks prior to training we will charge you with 50% of the course fee, in case of non-attendance with 100% of the course fee. Cancellations from our end are possible up to 24 hours prior to training (e.g. nonavailability of trainers). Any costs and expenses incurred to you up to this date will not be reimbursed. The minimum number of candidates is 6 (unless otherwise indicated). If this minimum number is not reached within 2 weeks prior to training, Snap-on reserves the right to cancel the training. Training hours: Training starts at 8.30 a.m. and ends at approx. 5.00 p.m. (depending on course). The course fee includes: Light lunch in our company, coffee, cookies, cold beverages and comprehensive training material. Upon successful participation every candidate will receive a training certificate to confirm the knowledge and skills acquired. 38 Organisational Details Personal safety equipment: Please note that wearing personal safety equipment (PSA) is mandatory for all training courses (safety shoes, ear protectors, safety glasses). While we do have equipment to place at your disposal on a loan basis, we recommend you use safety shoes of your own. Training at customer s location: We are, of course, willing to train your staff at your location; this would be charged at 1,000 a day plus travel, overnight accommodation and boarding for the trainer. Arrival: If required, we are at your disposal for organising shuttle service from Munich or Salzburg airports.
