1. Generl Type WSL OffCircuit Tp Chngers re used for djusting the voltge of oilimmersed trnsformers. It is designed like cge without oil comprtment nd cn e verticlly instlled on the trnsformer tnk cover through top flnge directly. As per different operting modes, there're three types of tp chnger: motor drive, mnul drive nd top hnd wheel Refer to fig.1, fig.2 nd fig.. As per different internl structures, nd regulting mode there re six types of tp chnger: Type Liner offcircuit tp chnger for neutrl ppliction; Type Singleridging offcircuit tp chnger; Type Strdelt offcircuit tp chnger; Type Douleridging offcircuit tp chnger; Type Reversing offcircuit tp chnger; Type Serilprllel offcircuit tp chnger As per different sizes, there re four types of tp chnger: type A, type B, type C, type D There re two type of flnge mounting: tnk cover type nd ell type. Norml service condition of the tp chnger 1..1 The temperture of the trnsformer oil shll e less thn 100, nd higher thn 25 1..2 The storge humidity of the OLTC should e no more thn 85 percent. The service temperture of stndrd designed OLTC is 25 to 40. If the temperture exceeds the rnge of stndrd (25 to 40 ), plese specify when ordering. To meet the ordering requirements nd comply with the operting environment, if the requested service temperture is out of the rnge of 25 to 40, the mteril nd ccessories of the OLTC will e specilly designed nd selected. 1.. 8. Instlltion 8.1 Initil check 8.1.1 Check the tp chnger's specifiction ginst the requirements of the trnsformer nd mke sure the pprovl, operting instruction pcking list nd other technicl documents re ll ville. 8.1.2 Check nd mke sure tht the tp chnger is in good condition nd free of distortion or dmge. 8.1. Operte the tp chnger for one complete opertion cycle to mke sure tht the tp chnger work properly nd the contct work position should e the sme s wht the position indictor shows. 8.1.4 Mesure contct resistnce for ech position,mke sure the results re in ccordnce with those on the certificte. 8.2 Mounting This type of tp chnger doesn't contin oil comprtment nd cn e directly mounted into the trnsformer oil tnk. 8.2.1 Instlltion of the offcircuit tp chnger onto the tnk cover type trnsformer (fig. 7) Clen ll the surfces for the gskets (hed ottom, mounting flnge). Put on oilproof gsket on the mounting flnge. Slowly lower the tp chnger into the trnsformer. Be creful not to dmge the tp chnger terminls.after the confirmtion of its right position, the tp chnger cn e mounted over the instlltion flnge of the trnsformer. 8.2.2 Instlltion of the offcircuit tp chnger onto the Bell type cover (fig. 8) 8.2.2.1 Plce the tp chnger verticlly nd dismntle the cover flnge. 8.2.2.2 Loosen the three hex screws which connect etween the middle flnge nd the supporting flnge. Tke out the middle flnge; mke sure to keep ll the demounted prts. 8.2.2. Lift the tp chnger up nd plce the supporting flnge onto the supporting shelf. Adjust the reltive position etween the supporting flnge nd the cover flnge efore their mounting.if it's difficult to verify the reltive position of supporting flnge nd cover flnge, premounting of 16

HM0.460.602 8.2. Mounting of the motor drive unit or the mnul drive unit Cution! The trnsformer cnnot e energized until the drive unit nd the offcircuit tp chnger re in the sme operting position. Tht is, the connection etween the tp chnger nd the motor drive unit must e checked efore energizing the trnsformer. 8.2..1 The tp chnger is instlled ccording to 8.2.1 nd 8.2.2 8.2..2 Mount the evel ger ox on the supporting plte of the trnsformer hed; mke sure the horizontl output shft of the evel ger ox is lined up with the output shft of the hed ger ox. Set the size of the drive shft y leving 2 mm gp. After mchining the drive shft to its specified length, connect the evel gerox with the tp chnger hedger ox. Py ttention to the djustment of the horizontl position. Mke sure tht the gerox output shft, drive shft nd the evel gerox output shft re ll linedup. 8.2.. Instll the motor drive unit or the mnul unit onto the side tnk of the trnsformer, (cution: the surfce must e flt otherwise the tnk could ecome wrped or even cnnot close fter mounting the olts). The output shft must e verticl to the ground nd in lignment with the verticl output shft of the evel gerox on the trnsformer hed supporting plte. Set the size of the drive shft y leving 2 mm gp. After mchining the drive shft to its specified length, connect the motor drive unit or the mnul unit to the evel gerox nd fsten the olts. 8.2.4 Connection of the motor unit nd the tp chnger 8.2.4.1. The indicted position in the motor unit should e in ccordnce with the indicted position in the tp chnger nd then couple horizontl shft with verticl shft. 8.2.4.2 Mnully operte the motor unit in oth directions with the following method nd record moving turns of the tp chnger: Operte the motor unit in one direction until the red rrow in the center of the tp chnger's cover stops t numer. Then keep on operting nd strt recording the operting turns until the middle of the green zone is shown in the center of the displying window. "m" is the turns needed. Likewise "n" is the recorded turns needed in the opposite direction. (See fig. 9) 8.2.4. Adjustment: if mn or nm.75 turns, no djustment is required. Otherwise, the following method my e pplied: disconnect the verticl shft from the motor drive unit nd operte the motor unit y.75 turns towrds the igger numer direction then reconnect the verticl shft to 19

Drying Procedure The tp chnger is to e dried with the trnsformer; the drying temperture nd time re the sme s tht of the trnsformer. The electric insultion level of the tp chnger cn only e gurnteed fter the drying procedure. Note:. Do not operte the tp chnger without oil fter drying. If necessry, smer ll contcts with some trnsformer oil efore opertion. The tp chnger should e immersed into the trnsformer oil immeditely fter the drying process. c. Loosen the leeder on the hed flnge of the tp chnger to relese gs during oil refilling of the trnsformer tnk. The trnsformer oil should strictly dhere to the stndrd, especilly regrding the insultion level nd the wter percentge level. 10. Opertion The offcircuit tp chnger cn only e operted when the trnsformer is deenergized. 20 10.1 Type hnd wheel on the hed tp chnger opertion Mke sure the trnsformer is disconnected. Loosen the stopscrew on the tp chnger hed so

Check the position of the tp chnger through the inspection window on the tp chnger hed. Align the stop screw with the locking hole nd fsten the stop screw to finish the opertion. (See Fig. 10) 10.2 Type Ground Mnul tp chnger opertion Open the hnd crnk cover, tke out the fixture prt nd insert into the hnd crnk then turn cycles. Oserve through the window whether the position indiction is right. Keep turning until the red rrow lined up with the red line of the indiction plte. Tke out the hnd crnk nd insert the fixture prt so tht one tp chnge is completed, the trnsformer cn resume operting. (See Fig. 5) 10. Operting the tp chnger y mens of the motor drive unit The motor drive unit is designed with cle leds inside. The cle leds re connected to the uxiliry nonsource leds of the trnsformer circuit reker so tht the motor drive unit cnnot e operted when the circuit reker is t its closing position. After mking sure the trnsformer is deenergized, y pressing the rise utton or lower utton on the motor drive cinet, the off circuit tp chnger cn go from one tp position to the next to finish one tp chnge. 11. Mintennce 11.1 Operte the tp chnger through its complete operting cycle t lest once yer to refresh contct surfce. 21

11.2 If the tp chnger hs not een operted for long time, severl prerun operting cycles re recommended efore setting it to the desired position. 11.
