1) Apply the parking brake. 2) Record the customer radio presets. Preset 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 A B C D 3) Make sure the shift lever is engaged in the P position and the parking brake is ON. 4) Turn the ignition switch OFF. 5) Open the engine hood. 6) Disconnect the battery negative terminal. 11) Identify the connector type by inspecting the back of the radio head unit, Type 1 or Type 2. Fig. 5 est connector with the largest wires from the radio head unit. Fig. 5 connect the largest connector with the largest wires from the radio head unit. Fig. 5 1 (green wire with black stripe - reference only). Fig. 12 a) Reconnect cluster bezel connector. b) Reinstall cluster bezel. c) Route housing wire harness pigtail as shown. Fig 12 d) Secure ground eyelet from housing wire harness with screw. Note: For vehicles with a Type 1 connector, secure the housing wire harness ground eyelet to the top right radio bracket in the 9 o clock position. For vehicles with a Type 2 connector, secure the housing wire harness ground eyelet to the top left radio bracket in the 3 o clock position. Fig 15 a) Push the harness connector below the opening between the radio and cluster lid. Ensure that the harness connector does not interfere with the housing assembly. b) Align the housing assembly mounting tabs with the mounting locations on the cluster lid, then press the housing into the cluster bezel. Fig. 17 23) Install the PND in the housing assembly. Fig. 17 a) Open the housing door. b) Fit the bottom of the PND into the cradle by aligning the pins. Rotate the PND toward the front of the vehicle until it clicks into place. Do not remove warning label from PND. c) Close the housing door. Page 9 of 10 999Q5 KV100 II REV 1 12-10-09

8. CHECKLIST: (1) Connect the battery negative terminal. (2) Turn the vehicle ignition switch to the ACC position and confirm the PND powers up. (3) Confirm audio through the mount speakers by adjusting the Navi volume up or down. Reset the default (80%) after volume confirmed. If no audio is present through the housing speakers, confirm the Navi unit volume is not muted, and the software is version 2.30 or greater. To show the current software version, select; Tools>Settings>System>About. If the Navi software version less than 2.30, a software update is required to make the unit compatible with this housing. (4) Turn the vehicle ignition OFF and confirm the PND powers down within 5 seconds. Close the housing lid. (5) Confirm for proper audio operation AM, FM, SAT, TAPE, and CD. (6) Clean the interior of the vehicle. (7) Inspect the vehicle interior and exterior for damage. (8) Confirm the proper operation of vehicle systems. (9) Reset radio presets to the recorded settings. (10) Place the PND Owner s Manual, Quick Start Manual, and accessories in the glove box. (11) If equipped, verify proper sunroof operation and perform the reset procedure, if necessary. Refer to Service Manual requirements. (12) Check the trim for a proper flush fit after re-installing the interior components.
