Emitec: a Brief Company Profile was founded in 1986. Today, the company is a world leader on the metal substrate market for exhaust gas catalysts and metallic diesel particulate filters for vehicles and mobile machinery. Complete SCR dosing systems round off this product range. Since its foundation Emitec has sold more than 170 million metal substrates of zero-defect quality. Emitec is also a long-standing development partner of engine and automobile manufacturers, from two-wheelers to cars and commercial vehicles, as well as of the agricultural and construction machinery industry. The company usually works together with its customers to develop products and systems at its research and test center. Emitec employs around 900 people at its plants in Lohmar and Eisenach (Germany), in Faulquemont (France), in Fountain Inn (USA) and in Pune (India). Development centres are located in Germany, France and Denmark. Further subsidiaries are situated in Shanghai, Tokyo, Seoul and Rochester Hills (Detroit). In 2012 Emitec s new plant with an area of 4,000 square metres and more than 100 employees was opened in Faulquemont/France, which is the company s development and production site for SCR dosing systems. Emitec s most important markets are in Europe, North America and Asia. The company s customers include the major car, truck and motorcycle manufacturers from across the world as well as in the non-road sector producers of tractors, agricultural machinery, construction equipment, ship engines and diesel locomotives. Emitec owns more than 2,700 patents worldwide, a fact that reflects the company s innovative strength. Due to the new EU IV emission limits for trucks and busses in Russia and China, both markets will grow substantially in the future. Emitec is very well positioned with its suitable components. Numerous Eastern European and Asian manufacturers such as the Russian
car producer GM-AvtoVaz, the Minsk tractor plant MTZ, the Chinese motorcycle manufacturer Dachangjiang as well as Weichai, a Chinese producer of diesel engines for commercial vehicles already use Emitec s products today. On 1 January 2013 Wolfgang Maus handed over the management of Emitec to Dr. Berthold Curtius who studied industrial engineering.
