OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL FOR 3002-SERIES ULTRALINER FRAME MACHINES CONTENTS: 1. GENERAL INFORMATION 2. OPERATION 3. MAINTENANCE 4. SAFETY WARNINGS 5. WARRANTY NOTES: Please read this entire manual prior to using the machine. Standard Tools assumes that the operator of this machine is knowledgeable of standard pulling practices. This manual is not intended as a replacement for that knowledge. This manual is a general manual for the various models of the 3002-series of frame pulling machines. Failure to use and maintain this equipment properly can lead to serious bodily and property damage due to the extreme pressures involved. Please retain this manual for instructional, repair and warranty information for the life of the machine. Please contact our Customer Service department at 800-451-2425 if there are questions about this machine. This machine is distributed by Standard Tools (a.k.a. ToolsUSA) of Greensboro, NC. SECTION 1 - MACHINE INFORMATION ITEM # DESCRIPTION QTY PER 1 Tower top - regular 1 2 Tower assembly 2 3 Collar assembly 2 4 Machine bed 1 5 Pinchweld assembly and stand 4 6 Chain 2 7 Top puller (roof pull) 1 8 Hydraulic foot pump and hose 2 9 Fixed leg 1 10 Lifting leg 1 11 Ramp (set = 1 left and 1 right) 1 set 12 Hydraulic ram assembly 1 13 Tower bolt 4 The machine should be located with at least 3-feet of clearance on the sides and nonloading end. The loading end of the machine should have 6-ft of clearance to make room for the ramps. The hydraulic pumps should be operated at 90-120 PSI of air supply, with 100 PSI as optimum. There are two pumps provided for the two towers and for lifting the machine. These pumps should be filled only to the line as shown with 32-36 weight hydraulic fluid. Version 6-Jan-2010 Page 2 of 5

SECTION 2 - OPERATION 1. Move the towers to the non-lifting end of the machine. 2. Remove the pinchweld stands. 3. Unlock the lifting leg and lower the machine all the way to the floor. 4. Install the ramps and secure with the pins on the ramp assembly. 5. Pull the vehicle onto the machine. Stop when centered front-to-back and side-toside. Engage the park brake. 6. Remove the ramps and raise the machine. Lock the lifting leg and lower the bed down on the legs to clear the lifting mechanism from the floor. 7. Jack the vehicle to the desired height. Install and secure the pinchweld assemblies at the desired location. Make sure that the locking foot is used with the stands. Secure the pinchweld height screw with the locking nut. Use the wrenches provided for adjusting and locking the pinchweld screws. Wrenches for pinchweld stand 8. Secure the pinchweld clamps to the vehicle. Do not use impact wrenches. 9. Determine the appropriate pulling process for the specific situation. 10. Move the tower to the desired location and secure with two tower bolts so that the bolts are hand tight. Two bolts should be used for each tower. Pulling with only one locking bolt will damage the machine bed and cause a possible movement of the tower. 11. Run the chain through the collar chain wheel and over the tower top. The roof pull tower top can also be used for normal pulls. Any twist in the chain can create problems in the pulling process and may cause a chain failure. Use the safety steel wire strap as provided to secure the chain in the case of breaking or slipping. 12. Connect the foot pump to the tower and stand out of the line of the pull. Every effort should be made to stand as far to the side of the pulling line as possible. Version 6-Jan-2010 Page 3 of 5

NOTES ON OPERATION 1. Securing the vehicle to the bed against the force of the pull will reduce the strain on the pinchwelds and increase the safeness of the process. 2. Clamps and other accessories are available from Standard Tools. 3. Using multiple light pulls in place of a major, hard pull is the safer choice for most situations. This will also reduce the strain and wear on the machine. 4. No pull should be made with the collar less than 15" from the top of the tower. SECTION 3 - MAINTENANCE 1. Visually inspect the machine weekly for damage or excessive wear, especially at lifting points and hydraulic lines. 2. Visually inspect chains, chain wheels and all points touched by the chains after heavy pulls or monthly. 3. Visually inspect pinchweld assemblies, especially clamping surfaces and bolts, weekly. 4. This machine is not designed for use outdoors or exposure to extreme temperatures. Extreme temperatures will cause the breakdown of the hydraulic fluid and lines. SECTION 4 - SAFETY WARNINGS 1. It is extremely important that no one stands near the tower or in the line of pulling during a pull. The clamping may release, a hook may slip or a chain may fail, all of which may cause significant bodily or property damage to anyone or anything in the pulling path. The foot pumps have enough hydraulic hose to stand clear of this path during a pull. 2. This machine should not be used if the operator has not read and fully understood this manual AND without suitable knowledge of body repair using this technology. 3. Hard pulls may loosen clamping points. Watch for movement of the vehicle when releasing the tension from a pull. Check clamp tension for subsequent pulls after a hard pull. 4. Be aware of vehicle parts that may loose or come off during a pull. 5. Do not perform a pull with the bed sitting on the lifting mechanism. The lifting leg should be locked vertically and the lifting leg pulled up from the floor. Version 6-Jan-2010 Page 4 of 5

SECTION 5 -WARRANTY Standard Tools will, within 5 years of purchase date, replace F.O.B. the factory, any materials which are defective in materials and/or workmanship, except as listed below. This warranty is subject to the inspection of the seller and seller's judgment to determine if the items have been modified or subjected to abnormal use, abuse or a lack of proper maintenance. This warranty does not extend to labor costs or loss of use due to defect. It also does not extend to any collateral or consequential damage due to defect. At the seller's option, the buyer must return the defective items (freight and delivery paid by seller, packaging by item owner) to Standard Tools. The hydraulic ram, hose and pump are subject to the manufacturer's warranties only (typically 1 year). Seller will not be liable to the buyer for any personal injury or property damage arising from the use of this equipment or installation of equipment. This warranty is limited to the original equipment buyer and is not transferable. No officer, employee or agent of seller is authorized to make any oral representations or warranty of fitness or to waiver any of the foregoing terms of sale and shall be binding beyond this written warranty. Standard Tools recommends that the buyer complete the following upon reading of this manual to allow easy access to this information if a call is required to our Customer Service department for any warranty or other relevant concerns.
