FORD FLEET FLASH DECEMBER 207 HAPPY HOLIDAYS! James Morgan 90.230.025 jmorga2@ford.com GOOD TO KNOW LAUNCHED: FIRST PLUG-IN HYBRID VEHICLE FOR POLICE/GOVERNMENT Special Service Plug-In Hybrid Sedan is the first such vehicle from Ford; designed for police and fire chiefs, detectives, and other personnel whose jobs don t require a pursuit-rated vehicle. This is the first Ford police vehicle that can potentially get through an entire shift using no gasoline whatsoever, explains Stephen Tyler, Ford police brand marketing manager. Anyone can plug this in to any wall outlet to run gas- and emissions-free on battery-only operation. The vehicle s 3.3-kilowatt onboard charger allows agencies to fully charge the 7.6-kilowatt-hour battery in just 2.5 hours on a 240-volt, level-2 charger. But Ford is confident most agencies won t need anything more than a regular 20-volt wall outlet to recharge. The lithium-ion battery can move the vehicle up to 2 miles on a single charge and up to 85 mph on battery power alone. Once the battery runs down, the vehicle is powered by its gasoline-electric hybrid powerplant with a range surpassing 500 miles. The custom interior features heavy-duty cloth front seats with reduced bolsters, plus rear anti-stab plates, Rear seating and flooring is heavy-duty vinyl. There s a reinforced top tray. a metal console mounting plate, and red and white task lighting. In addition to unique alloy wheels, there s a police engine-idle feature, and an auxiliary power distribution box in the trunk. This all-new plug-in joins 2 other all-new police vehicles the Ford Police Responder Hybrid Sedan and F-50 Police Responder introduced earlier in the year. Fleet Distribution News Bulletin FDNB 206 SCHEDULING HELPFUL HINTS Fleet orders are prioritized based on two-digit alpha-numeric priority codes indicating month/week orders needs to be built. Numeric priority codes are not valid for Fleet. See Fleet Priority Code Calendar link below for valid priority codes. Please be aware of the following: First available priority codes are calculated weekly based on current order bank, available allocation, controlled commodities, and plant downtime. It is very important to review the Fleet DNB weekly as first available priority codes can sometimes change drastically if, for example, a large influx of orders is received. Fleet receives a pre-determined amount of allocation (production slots) each month for weekly scheduling. Once the amount of orders prioritized for that week/month exceeds the available allocation, the first available priority code is moved out to the next week/month. Orders are selected for scheduling based on priority code first, then by order receipt date. Despite how long an order has been in the unscheduled order bank, if the plant is not yet filling the production week associated with the requested priority code, the order will remain unscheduled. As a general rule of thumb, production dates are at least one month out from order receipt date. Every effort is made to accurately estimate the lead times, and to reflect longer lead times of specific commodities. In the absence of adjusted lead times for commodities, please use the high, medium, or low risk rating as a guide. This document does not apply to VSO orders. Please review specific vehicle line information below to assist in ordering vehicles for timely delivery. Every attempt will be made to honor requested Fleet priority code. Due to unforeseen circumstances such as plant downtime or commodity issues, this may not be possible. The information and estimated timing indicated below are correct at time of publication. Availability and timing are subject to change without notice. Acceptance of an order by Ford Motor Company does not constitute a commitment to build or a guaranteed delivery date. DESIRED PRODUCTION DATE PRIORITY CODES PLACE ORDERS BY December M, M2, M3, M4 November January A, A2, A3, A4, A5 December February B, B2, B3, B4 January CURRENTLY SCHEDULING FOR DECEMBER/JANUARY PRODUCTION SCHEDULING FOR FEBRUARY PRODUCTION BEGINS /8/8 Week 5 Priority Codes The system will automatically change Week 5 priority codes to Week 4 whenever a month does not contain a full fifth week. For example, in the month of May, any unscheduled orders placed with E5 will be changed to E4.
