Actuators Module system Scuck actuators type Borsig supertorc, for 90 adjustment range, ave been deve - loped as a module system. Te basis of te module system is te basic actuator. Eigt basic actuator sizes are available, wit output torques from 1,000 Nm to 350,000 Nm. Bot are made from resistant and toug speroidal grapite cast iron. As an alternativ te ousing and yoke can be made of carbon steel. A complete, ready-to-run actuator is created wit te attacments on te basic actuator. Te attacments are selected depending on te required input power. Input power can be fed in manually, ydraulically by pneumatic or electric motor. All attacments can be fixed in te rigt or left-and universal mounting arrangement. Tis results in te different constructions of te swivel actuator as a manual actuator, electric actuator, ydraulic or pneumatic actuator. Retrofitting using te module system is possible at any time. Actuators Scotc-Yoke principle Via te slide blocks and te guide track, te linear entry motion, e.g. of a ydraulic cylinder, is converted into te required 90 swivel motion in accordance wit te Scotc-Yoke principle. Te linear motion of te attaced components acts via te carrier, te carrier bolt and te slide blocks on te lever arm of te yoke. Te advantage of te Scotc-Yoke principle is te output torque, matced to te ball valve, at a constant input torque or input pressure. Very low friction gives Scotc-Yoke actuators very ig efficiency and allows compact construction. Te actuators are self-locking and jerk-free. All bearings are dry-running syntetic-coated bearings wic run witout grease or oil lubrication. Only for corrosion protection, te internal components are initially grease- -coated. Te basic unit does not require any maintenance. Te actuator as a very long service life. Diagrammatic representation of te actuator and ball valve torque Every actuator is equipped wit an internal, mecanical position indicator. Te ball valve position can be read off as a proportion of te movement over te entire operating range. Limit stops, arranged in accordance wit te maximum torques, limit te swivelling motion. Only te max. input torque, i.e. te max. input force, of te actuator acts on te limit stops. supertorc

Te actuators are designed to allow manual operation witout te need for great force. Conversion or retrofitting is possible at any time to suit customers requirements. All Scuck manual actuators type Borsig supertorc can in addition be equipped wit limit switces. All electrical components are suitable for Ex zone I. AG FG 00/32, 00/42 Scuck manual actuators type Borsig supertorc are available in different designs up to an output torque of 350,000 Nm. Te actuators are equipped wit a andweel for emergency operation. Due to te ig efficiency of te basic actuator, te attaced electric actuator can be very small. Setting times are variable and are matced to customer requirements. All electrical components are suitable for Ex zone I. Conversion or retrofitting is possible at any time to suit customer requirements. AG FG 00/11, 00/12 Hydraulic/pneumatic cylinder type Borsig supertorc are available in different designs up to an output torque of 350,000 Nm. Hydraulic/pneumatic actuators are always operated via a control system. Tis control system is situated in a control cabinet wic is attaced directly to te actuator. Te actuator systems of te control equipment depend on customer requirements. Remote control signals, additional signal pick-ups and auxiliary attacments suc as limit switces can be canged or retrofitted at any time (See type key, page 16). All actuator controls ave ydraulic emergency manual actuation. Te illustration sows a ydraulic actuator wit type X control system (see page 15).

Actuators Sub-sea actuator Actuators Spring return actuator Actuators Planet gear actuator AG FG 00/31/P, 00/41/P, 00/11/P Scuck type Borsig supertorc actuators are also suitable for underwater operation. Tey are designed so tat tey can also be mounted on te ball valve under water. For tis application te actuator is sealed from te outside and completely filled wit biologically degradable oil. A pressure equalising arrangement is provided to balance te internal pressure of te actuator to te external water pressure. Te actuator is used at any dept. An external mecanical position indicator is present, all parts in contact wit water being made of stainless steel. Any possible leak at te stem seal of te valve is discarged via a pressure release valve. In addition, te actuator can be equipped wit limit switces and like all oter type Borsig supertorc actuators, te sub-sea actuator is maintenance-free. Te illustration sows a manually operated sub-sea actuator. AG FG 12/15 Type Borsig supertorc actuators are also available wit spring return in various versions up to an output torque of 350,000 Nm. Type Borsig supertorc actuators wit spring return are operated over a compressed air control system. Tis control system is accommodated in a control cabinet wic is mounted directly on te actuator. Te actuator power supply of te control system depends on te customer s requirements. If te actuator power supply fails, te actuator moves over te spring into te secure position. Remote control signals, additional signal pick-ups and auxiliary attacments suc as limit switces can be converted or retrofitted at any time (See type key, page 16). All actuator systems ave a ydraulic emergency manual actuation. PG incl. position indicator Te Scuck planetary gear actuator as been developed as a module system and can provide a torque of up to 3,000 Nm. Te basis is formed by a basic element; adding modules makes it possible to vary te transmission ratio of te gear unit as required. Te gear saft of te Scuck planetary gear actuator is situated directly above te centerline of te valve axis. Te actuator is constructed as standard to DIN 5211, but is also matced to te order. Te end stop is situated on te gear unit. Te Scuck planetary gear actuator can be actuated by andweel for above-ground or wit extension for below-ground operation. Te gear unit can also be supplied in te form of a slip-on gear mecanism wit a torque support. In addition, te planetary gear actuator can also be operated by electric motor. Te use of ig-grade material and precision manufacture ensures tat te gear actuator operates wit little play and wit ig efficiency. After filling wit grease te unit operates witout maintenance for at least eigt years. Te actuator as a very long service life. Te actuator saft is made from rustproof material. 8 supertorc

Operation In addition to te function of te basic control system, te ball valve is to be closed in te case of line break. Sort-term, sligt pressure fluctuations and slow, continous drops in pressure do not cause te automatic line break control to respond. Te line break control system responds as a function of te pressure drop rate in te pipeline, in relation to te pressure drop period. In te case of a power failure any furter actuation of te actuator is stopped. Te automatic line break control is available wit automatic or manual reset. Emergency sut-down in case of power failure Function 6a Also possible wit control type C. Te solenoid valve 4c is mounted on te basic control system in modular construction wit an adapter plate. Operation In addition to te function of te basic control system, te ball valve is to be closed in te case of power failure. Wen a power failure occurs, any furter actuation of te actuator is stopped. Controls Auxiliary attacments For ydraulic scematics as required by te customer please ring tel. no. +49 7329 950-155 D Torque limiter Te torque limiter protects te actuator and te secondary components against an excessive output torque. If te pressure drops to a permissible value, after te response of te torque limiter, te torque limiter cuts out automatically. Te torque limiter is applicable for te pneumatic and Gas over Oil actuators. L Limit switc Te limit switc is a compact, closed unit wic was specially developed for supertorc. Te limit switc makes it possible to ensure tat no moving parts are situated outside te actuator. Te limit switc contains four mecanical two-way switces wit wic te travel commands can be cut off in te end position and te end positions signalled. For tis purpose te actuator is filled wit biologically degradable oil. Te actuator is sealed off against te external medium over a plastic membrane. In tis way te internal pressure of te actuator is matced to te water pressure. Te actuator can terefore be used at any dept. Q Energy storage mecanism An energy storage mecanism makes it possible to actuate te ball valve several times even if te control power fails. Te size and construction of te energy storage mecanism vary depending on customer requirements and te application conditions.
