A. Vehicle Disassembly 1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (Fig. A1) i. Cover the fender before starting. 10 mm Wrench Battery Negative Battery Cable Be careful not to touch the positive battery cable. Fig. A1 2. Remove the driver side step cover. (Fig. A2) i. Fig. A2 Nylon Panel Removal Tool 3. Remove the driver side cowl cover. (Fig. A3) i. Do not scratch the cover. 4. Remove the hood release lever. (Fig. A4) i. Remove the two screws securing the lever to the lower dash cover. Remove the cable from the lever. 5. Remove the lower dash cover. 6. Prepare a blanket, then place the blanket over the front edge of the center console. (Fig. A5) Protective Sheet Fig. A5 7. Loosen the bracket cover, but do not remove the cover. (Fig A6) i. Remove and save the three bolts securing R/B No. 2 to the body in the engine room. (Fig. B1) 10 mm Socket, Socket Extension R/B No. 2 Bolt (Existing) Bolt (Existing) Fig. B1 2. Locate the vehicle harness gray 2P connector, then remove and discard the black cap. (Fig. B2) i. Locate the 2P connector between the R/B No.2 and the body. 3. Plug in the Piezo Buzzer s gray 2P connector into the vehicle harness' gray 2P connector. (Fig. B3) 4. Secure the Piezo Buzzer to the vehicle s harness with one large strip of foam tape, then secure the Piezo Buzzer to the vehicle s harness with one large wire tie. (Fig. B3) i. V3 Harness Installation 1. Locate and disconnect the white 12P connector from the driver s side cowl area. (Fig. C1) i. Do not pull on the wires; pull on the connector. 2. Plug in the V3 harness white 12P connector into the vehicle s white 12P connector and the driver s side connector block. 2. Plug in the V3 harness ECU connectors to the V3 ECU. (Fig. D2) EXAMPLE V3 ECU V3 ECU Connectors (8P, 12P, 22P) Fig. D2 3. Using 3M Prep Solvent -70, clean the area indicated on the driver s side cowl area. (Fig. D3) 4. Remove the backing sheet, and attach the butyl tape near the driver side cowl area as shown. (Fig D3) i. Do not touch the adhesive surface of the butyl tape. Butyl Tape Fig. D3 5. Remove the backing sheet, and attach the V3 ECU as shown. (Fig. D4) i. 6. Secure the V3 ECU to the driver s side cowl area with one extra large wire tie as shown. (Fig. D5) i. Clip the wire tie. 6. Locate and disconnect the white 22P connector from the Instrument Panel J/B. (Fig. E5) Instrument Panel J/B i. Do not pull on the wires; pull on the connector. Locate and disconnect the white 9P connector from the back side of Instrument Panel J/B. (Fig. E9) i. Do not pull on the wires; pull on the connector. 12. Route the V3 harness up toward the Instrument Panel J/B area, then secure the white 9P connector to the vehicle harness with one large wire tie. 18. Secure the V3 harness to the vehicle harness with one medium wire tie. (Fig. E17) i. Clip the wire tie. 19. Secure the V3 harness with the existing clip. F. Status Monitor Installation 1. Remove and discard the knockout cover from the bracket cover. (Fig. F1) i. Do not scratch the cover. TOYOTA Do not bend the cover. 2. Clean the inside surface of the front door windows. (Fig. G1) 2. Place the warning label on the inside surface of the front door window as shown. (Fig. G1) i. Use a piece of clear adhesive tape to lift the labels off of their protective backing sheet. Warning Label 10mm Do not touch the adhesive surface of the warning labels. Fig. G1 Page 14 of 28 Pages

H. Completing the Installation 1. Complete the reassembly of the vehicle. i. Reconnect any disconnected connectors. Verify the panels fit together properly with no uneven gaps between them. 2. Clean up and remove any trash. 3. Reconnect the vehicle's negative battery cable. (Fig. H1) i. Position the negative battery terminal at an angle of 45 to the battery as shown. Torque Wrench, 10mm Socket Battery 45 Negative Battery Cable Fig. H1 Tighten the nut with 3 ft lbs of torque. i Be careful to not touch the positive battery terminal. 4. Leave the owner s manual, warranty card, and remote controls in their protective bags and place in the glove box. Page 15 of 28 Pages

Section III - Functional Verifications Section III - Functional Verifications Check: Look for: Accessory Function Checks Press and release the remote control s lock button to start the system s arming process. Wait 30 seconds. Press and release the remote control s unlock button to disarm the system. Press and release the remote control s unlock button again within 3 seconds of disarming the system. Open and close the driver's door. Arm and disarm the system with the remote again, then wait thirty seconds. Press and release the remote control's unlock button again to stop the arming process. Open the driver's door, then press and release the remote control's lock button. Close the driver's door. Press and release the remote control's panic button to trigger the panic alarm. Press and release the remote control's panic button again to stop the panic alarm. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. The tail and marker lights flash once. The buzzer chirps once. All doors lock. The LED lights up. After 30 seconds, the LED starts flashing; the system is now armed. The tail and marker lights flash twice. The buzzer chirps twice. The interior lights turn on for thirty seconds. The driver's door unlocks. The LED stops flashing. The tail and marker lights flash twice. The buzzer chirps twice. All remaining doors unlock. The doors automatically relock. The system automatically starts the arming process. Refer to step #3. The buzzer sounds continuously for 5 seconds. The buzzer stops sounding. The horn sounds repeatedly. The interior lights turn on. The headlights flash repeatedly. The tail and marker lights flash repeatedly. The LED lights up. The horn stops sounding. All the lights stop flashing and/or turn off. Page 16 of 28 Pages

Section III - Functional Verifications Section III - Functional Verifications Check: Look For: Sit in the driver's seat and make sure all doors are closed. Insert the key into the ignition switch and turn it to "ON". Roll down all the windows. Turn the key back to "LOCK". Remove the key and exit the vehicle. Insert the key into the driver's door key cylinder and turn it toward the front of the vehicle to start the arming process. Wait 30 seconds. Reach inside and manually unlock the driver's door to trigger an alarm. Manually unlock the driver's door again and hold it unlocked, open the door, then sit in the driver's seat. Insert the key into the ignition switch and turn it to "START" to stop the alarm. Turn the key back to "LOCK", remove it, then exit the vehicle. 11. 12. 13. 14. 15. 16. 17. All doors lock. All doors unlock. All doors lock. The LED lights up. After 30 seconds, the LED starts flashing; the system is now armed. The driver's door automatically relocks. The horn sounds repeatedly. The interior lights turn on. The headlights flash repeatedly. The tail and marker lights flash repeatedly. The LED lights up. The driver's door lock attempts to lock repeatedly. The horn continues to sound repeatedly. The interior lights remain on. The headlights, tail lights and marker lights continue flashing. The LED remains on. The horn stops sounding. All the lights stop flashing and/or turn off. The LED turns off. The starter cranks and the engine starts. Page 17 of 28 Pages

Section III - Functional Verifications Section III - Functional Verifications Check: With the door open, press the lock switch on the door to lock the doors, then close the door to start the system's arming process. Wait 30 seconds. Reach inside and manually unlock the front passenger's door to trigger an alarm. Press and release the remote control's unlock button to stop the alarm. Press and release the remote control's lock button to start the system's arming process. For D-Cab "only", climb into the rear passenger area, then close the door. Press and release the remote control's lock button to start the system's arming process, then wait 30 seconds until the system is armed. Unlock and open one of the rear passenger doors to trigger an alarm. Repeat the above steps with the other rear passenger door (if equipped.) 18. 19. 20. 21. 22. 23. 24. 25. Look For: Tail and maker lights flash once. The buzzer chirps once. All doors lock. The LED lights up. After 30 seconds, the LED starts flashing; the system is now armed. Perform the following check in a temperature controlled environment. Pull the plunger of the striker tool all the way out to tap the center of the driver's door window again to trigger an alarm. Completing the Installation 1. Complete the reassembly of the vehicle. i. Reconnect any disconnected connectors. Verify the panels fit together properly with no uneven gaps between them. 3. Tighten the nut with 3 ft lbs of torque. i Be careful to not touch the positive battery terminal. 4.
