Work Practice - Prior to moving OD&E are notified by the operator of their next well location Neil Mansell Transport are advised of the next location and approximate timing for the rig move. OD&E and the NMT Head Offie communicate and agree to the type of rig move (Fixed price or Hourly rates). NMT Moomba liaise with local ODE Site Office on Rig Move, Number of Km s, move plan, equipment and relative timing for the move. NMT Truck Pusher, ODE Truck Pusher and Santos representative scope the road and conditions and reports to all drivers and personnel involved with the move.
Work Practice - Pre Move Rig move equipment is mobilised from Moomba, Adelaide, Toowoomba or another Rig that is finishing its move. Typical equipment required to move a rig comprises of: 2 x 45 tonne cranes 1-2 50 T winch trucks - typically Pacifics or Road Boss s. Designed and built for oilfield service. 7-8 trucks each hauling 2 x flat bed trailers. Front end Loaders Crew transport vehicles. All OD&E and NMT attend the site inductions. ODE and NMT Truck Pusher advises all employees and make them aware of rig moving procedures in regards to policy statements, OH&S, and relative work procedures with rig moving
Work Practice - Moving Loader and 2 trucks move Santos equipment, 2 loads of mud, Frac Tank, Mixing Tank, GEO Shack and Santos Shack. All Miscellaneous rig loads are moved (B Doubles)
Work Practice - Moving Cranes arrive and do the following Move the Dog House Swing A Legs over and lift all loose cables on to derrick Cranes lift A Legs section with rig truck under crown section If 2 cranes are there at times can lift mask straight down on pipe racks

Work Practice - Moving Rig Truck comes in and pulls out the BOP 2 cranes come in and lift off the draw works Cranes lift top sub base and rig trucks pull out bottom sub bases Cranes lower top sub base where lower sub bases were Rig truck comes in and moves them off the matting and then matting can be loaded Load Rig Shacks Load pipe bins Clean up lease Same procedure applies when rigging up at new lease
Rig Move - Procedures, Policies and Rig Moving Standards OD&E and NMT Documented Occupational Health and Safety procedures in place to ensure the safety of all participants involved Work Procedures Detailed set of Australian Standards for all crane loads. Where there are no specific Australian Standards applicable Detailed written NMT and ODE procedures are used to ensure consistency in quality of job and safety for workers. OD&E Generic Rig Move Procedures and in 2005 we are in the process of developing Rig specific Rig move procedures. Injury management procedures in place to ensure minimal injury and impact in the event of an accident
Rig Move - Procedures, Policies and Standards Medicals conducted on workers to ensure capable workers on site In-House policies and procedures have been developed primarily based on 50 years of rig move experience in the Cooper basin. Permit to work covers localised specific bridging requirements. Other policies + Procedures in place: Western Australian heavy vehicle accreditation process Fatigue management Module standards The National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme Compliance with all State and Federal Highway codes for heavy vehicles.
Heavy Vehicle Maintenance NMT has a Electronic Job Card and Maintenance system implemented across entire company To ensure effective maintenance of all vehicles within company Services and vigorous checks conducted on all vehicles and equipment Special attention paid to vehicles and equipment that work in the desert Mechanics and workshops located at Moomba, Adelaide, Toowoomba and Maroochydore Fleet accredited in National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation (Maintenance Management) and Western Australia Heavy Vehicle Accreditation (Maintenance & Fatigue Management) Schemes
Heavy Vehicle Maintenance Cranes Maintained to set Australian Standards - Including the inspection of all lifting gear. All documentation, standards and rig move procedures are continuously reviewed and improved as new standards evolve.
Conclusion There are set process s and guide lines to cover the pre rig move administration Documented work procedures for safety and consistency of work quality and protection of our environment and reputations. High vehicle maintenance for safety of workers and quality of jobs
