8 SESSIONS & CONVENTIONS SMW 2015 THURSDAY, OCTOBER 29 - MORNING - City & Green Logistics Thursday, October 29, 9:00 a.m. 1.30 p.m. Hall Tower "F1 Track ", 2 nd floor Hospitality Building, Autodromo Nazionale Monza Smart Mobility World 2012 staged the signing of an operative agreement between metropolitan areas and the Ministry for Infrastructure and Transports, regarding the development of new governance models for urban logistics. The following year, a memorandum of understanding between the City of Turin, the local Chamber of Commerce and the 17 principal concerned associations was signed. This agreement gave the greenlight for a pilot experiment that was followed by a period of reflection and debate between the sector s stakeholders. Today we finally witness the conclusion of this initial phase, with the development of regulations for the sector and the application in various metropolitan cities of best practices resulting from pilot projects. Indeed, the growth in the number of deliveries has been followed by a reduction regarding the volume of single deliveries. The result of these two trends determines greater traffic caused by delivery; generates further clashes between the transport of passengers and that of goods both during movement and parking; increments urban congestion and pollution. In this challenging scenario, the session aims to present a new vision of distribution markets to central and local political decision makers, social partners, associates, researchers, big industrial players and citizens. Its objective is, therefore, that of proposing possible solutions and policies that could contribute to a new conception for the future development of our smart cities. The challenge of Smart Mobility World will be that of kick-starting the second phase through cooperation and networking, by exchanging ideas on best practices that have already been successfully experimented in metropolitan areas and cities. The ambition of the session is to encourage the latter to become the standards for urban logistics and the technology to achieve this is certainly abundant. With cross fertilization between players of the sector, it will be finally possible to make the most of the urban and sustainable logistics market and to find innovative solutions to reduce emissions. MAIN TOPICS European and National Policies and regulation Funding plans for the logistics sector: H2020, Regional National Funds National best practices: Smart Mobility World gives the floor to various operators of the sector The new frontiers of logistics: sharing and collaborating

These must take into account the needs of transport, the traffic and parking requirements of residents, businesses, commuters and visitors, all gravitating towards the urban centre. The congestion of urban road networks, which generates significant pollution peaks and creates stress to motorists, is often caused by motorists looking for a place to park their vehicles. Thanks to new technologies and solutions for mobile information, various projects and smart parking systems, smart payment and parking management are emerging, together with more effective measures to regulate and control access to the city. 17 Further speeches on the subject by associations, institutions, sponsors, start-ups and experts of the sector are expected. Smart car & road safety In collaboration with Studio Comelli Thursday, October 29, 2.30 5.00 p.m. Room 1 "Pole Position", 2 nd floor Hospitality Building, Autodromo Nazionale Monza Road safety is a matter of fundamental importance. In 2013, the roads of the European Union registered about 26,000 deaths and nearly 1.4 million wounded, of which 100,000 with serious permanent damage. These numbers can be compared to an armed conflict with a very high social cost: in 2009 it totaled nearly 130 billion euros and it is constantly growing. In 2010 the European Union has set up a program of regulation and investment in research and development, with the aim to decrease deaths on roads below 20,000 by 2020. The program foresees direct assistance and cooperation between States, businesses and citizens. Automotive companies, for their part, are looking for a competitive margin and, under the pressure of regulation, they have long been engaged in research and production of active, passive and structural systems to increase vehicle safety. Member States, however, need to engage with greater effort in the improvement of infrastructure safety with regards to ordinary and extraordinary maintenance of roads, installation and management of systems to monitor and support traffic and education on road safety. MAIN TOPICS European policy for road safety: policies, programs and objectives for 2020 with a focus on the National Plan s corresponding measures in the field of ITS applications and systems for road safety Active safety systems on board of vehicles: from assisted driving to the complete automation of driving Design and materials for safety: the starting point of vehicular safety and solutions to save substance and form Passive systems to limit damage: from air-bags to a more integrated approach Roadside auxiliary systems and integration with on-board systems: technology, solutions and investments. Building and maintenance of infrastructure to safeguard security: the forgotten chapter of road safety Chairman: Gianpiero Mastinu, Professor and Co-founder of the Laboratory for Transportation Safety (LaST) and head of the Section Active Safety, Polytechnic University of Milan Speakers: title to be defined Enrico Pagliari, Executive Manager Technical Area, ACI Automobile Italian Club Rome Urban plans of sustainable mobility as a tool for implement integrated measures of road safety Patrizia Malgieri, Transport Planner, TRT

26 - Sharing Mobility and new forms of urban mobility: changes in demand and market. Focus on car sharing, carpooling, car rental, NCC and Taxi In collaboration with Federmobilità Friday, October 30, 9.30 a.m. 1.30 p.m. Room 3 Circuit, 2 nd floor Hospitality Building, Autodromo Nazionale Monza Sharing mobility is one of the fastest growing areas of the sharing economy, in terms of users and revenue. Its expansion has surely been stimulated by the growth of digital technologies, where access has taken over possession. A recent study by Roland Berger Strategy Consultants has shown, for the four most popular services (car sharing, ride sharing, bike sharing and Shared parking), annual growth rates between 20% and 35% and revenue forecasts from 2 to 6 billion dollars for 2020. Furthermore, Istat datas confirm this growth: the new components of the 2015 updated index of consumer prices now include car sharing, bike sharing (where bikes are increasingly electric) and urban smart mobility. Sharing mobility has become a profitable business because "the conception and the use itself of the car are changing." Users demand a service that is easy, safe and cheap to drive. Therefore, a new kind of demand for mobility is emerging and it is no coincidence that increasingly numerous car, railways, airlines and hi-tech manufacturers are entering the market. Sharing mobility proves to be sustainable not only economically, but also from the social and environmental point of view, guaranteeing an easier access to mobility and helping to reduce congestion in urban areas. There remain several critical issues, including that of an unclear legal framework. MAIN TOPICS Changes in demand and market: from TPL to new forms of urban shared mobility Sharing Mobility: cost, flexibility and ease of access, with a focus on car sharing Sharing mobility services: mobile solutions and devices to access the service and share information among users Other "sharing" Mobility systems: carpooling and car rental NCC & Taxi National and European best practices Development of supply and new business areas: critical issues and opportunities Programme h. 9.30 a.m. Participants Registration and Accreditation Chairman: Annita Serio, Director, Federmobilità h. 10.00 a.m. Opening morning session Introductory Speech Saverio Montella, President, Federmobilità

28 Natural Gas for Green Mobility: focus on methane, bio-methane and LNG In collaboration with NGV Italy Friday, October 30, 9.00 a.m. 1.00 p.m. Room 4 Parabolic", 2 nd floor Hospitality Building, Autodromo Nazionale Monza For several years the number of suppliers of methane for auto-traction has been growing, from 706 suppliers in 2009 to 1020 in July 2014, while the CNG powered fleet goes to more than one million vehicles with more than 3,000 buses and trucks always powered by CNG. Innovations include LNG refueling stations that can be integrated with service stations that offer traditional fuels and the installation of self-service distributors. Furthermore, various Regions envisage policies and network development projects based on incentives. Another great development opportunity for the natural gas chain is represented by the application of bio-methane to auto-traction. Bio-methane has, indeed, various advantages: It represents a renewable and programmable source of energy; It leads to a reduction in natural gas import dependency; It fosters the growth of local economies; It guarantees an increase in environmental sustainability. Therefore, launching the bio-methane chain represents an incredible opportunity for the development of the Italian green economy. In the coming months the government proposal for LNG development will be approved. It will be presented in the consultation table for the development of this chain, coordinated by MISE and in collaboration with MIT. The convention will present, through the protagonists themselves, the contents and course of action expected in the Plan regarding the auto-traction sector. It will also examine the main project and best technologies available for the LNG supply chains. A final discussion panel, with the participation of institutions and interested association, will discuss the critical nodes to be untied and the proposals for growth and improvement of the sector.
