EXCEPTIONS Any bidder who is unable to meet any of the below specifications shall include with his/her bid, a description of the component of their apparatus that does not meet specification, along with a reason why the specification cannot be met. WHEELBASE The apparatus shall have a wheelbase not to exceed 205 inches CAB & CHASSIS The cab and chassis shall be manufactured by Kenworth, Peterbilt, International, Freightliner, or equivalent and shall have all necessary changes made to meet NFPA 1901 requirements for fire apparati. The apparatus shall have a GVWR of not less than 54,600 lbs. The cab and chassis shall include the following: Electric Door Locks LH/RH Keyless Ignition Single-piece Windshield Electric windshield wipers, minimum of 2-speed plus intermittent Electric windshield washers Glove box door with locking latch Turn signal switch with column mounted dimmer Floor mat Inside sun visor, LH/RH Door courtesy lights HEAT PROTECTION The exhaust after-treatment system shall be sufficiently shielded or wrapped to protect the underside of the chassis cab during active regeneration. Heat from regeneration shall not be detected by personnel seated inside the cab. AIR LINE, FUEL HOSE AND ELECTRICAL HARNESS AND CONNECTOR PROTECTION All air lines, fuel lines and electrical harnesses below the chassis frame rails shall be protected with a fire resistant sleeve. All air lines and connectors to air tank located between chassis steps shall be protected with a fire resistant sleeve. CABIN AIR EMBER GUARD The cabin air filter shall be protected by an ember guard with a maximum mesh opening of 0.039 inches. FUEL TANK & EQUIPMENT The fuel tank shall have a capacity of not less than 50 US gallons.

CAB & EQUIPMENT The cab shall have a seating capacity of not less than two (2) personnel The cab shall have the following equipment installed: Cab heater with integral defrosters & air conditioning Adj. telescoping tilt steering column Dash mounted air cleaner restriction gauge Instrument package (speedo, tach, temp, oil press, voltmeter) Warning light for parking brake NFPA compliance kit (seat sensors, seatbelt switches, VDR harness) Seat belts colored to meet NFPA standards Radio AM/FM Self-cancelling turn signals LH & RH NFPA compliant grab handles Aerodynamic heated mirrors Electric window lifts AIR EQUIPMENT The air system shall have a Bendix AD series heated air dryer or equivalent. CHASSIS WARRANTY The chassis manufacturer s warranty shall be in effect and shall commence on the day of acceptance by the purchaser. BUMPER EXTENSION The front bumper shall be a 12 extended bumper or greater. All surfaces shall be polished aluminum or chrome for a neat appearance. The top surface shall be diamond plate. ENGINE The engine shall have a horsepower rating of not less than 330 Horsepower EXHAUST BRAKE An exhaust brake shall be installed on the chassis. This brake shall have a switch to turn it on or off within easy reach of the driver TRANSMISSION The transmission shall be an Allison 3000EVS 6-speed with with provisions for two (2) PTOs. FRONT AXLE & EQUIPMENT The front axle shall have a rating of not less than 14,600 lbs. REAR AXLE & EQUIPMENT The rear tandem axles shall have a rating of not less than 40,000 lbs.

TIRES The tires shall be bridgestone or equivalent WHEELS The front and rear outer wheels shall be polished aluminum The rear Inner Wheels shall be steel and shall be treated to prevent corrosion STAINLESS STEEL WHEEL COVERS The front and rear axle(s) shall have stainless steel lug nut covers. AIR HORNS The apparatus shall have an air horn installed that shall be controlled by a lanyard that is located within easy reach of the driver REAR MUD FLAPS Two (2) black hard rubber mudflaps shall be installed behind the rear wheels, one each side. NFPA COMPLIANCE The completed apparatus shall be in compliance with the latest published version of NFPA 1901. APPARATUS TOP SPEED The apparatus shall not exceed either 60 mph (85 km/hr) or the manufacturer s maximum fire service speed rating for the tires installed on the apparatus, whichever is lower. VEHICLE STABILITY The calculated center of gravity shall be no higher than 80% of the rear axle track width to conform to NFPA 1901-2009. VDR DATA The completed apparatus shall have a VDR Data recorder installed. The following information shall be collected. SEAT BELT INDICATORS Signs that read Occupants Must be Seated and Belted When Apparatus Is in Motion shall be visible from each seated position. Each seating position that is not intended to be used during transit shall be individually labeled as follows: WARNING: THIS SEAT IS NOT TO BE OCCUPIED WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. A seat belt warning system shall be provided. The warning system shall consist of an audible warning device that can be heard at all seating positions designed to be occupied while the vehicle is in motion and a visual display visible to the driver, showing the condition of each seating position. The warning shall be activated anytime the parking brake is released or the automatic transmission is not in park. The seat position display shall indicate conditions in accordance with Table 14.1.3.10.3. The display indication shall be permitted to consist of lights, text, graphical indicators, digital displays, or other methods. TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING Each tire shall be equipped with a visual indicator located on the stem that indicates the tire pressure. JUMPER POSTS NFPA Complaint External Battery Jumper Posts, color coded with protective covers shall be installed on the apparatus. HELMET HOLDERS There shall be two (2) Zico UHH-1 helmet holder bracket(s) provided in the cab. The brackets shall provide quick access and secure storage of the helmet(s). The bracket location(s) shall be determined at time of final inspection. This item shall be priced separately as an option. TOW HOOKS No less than Two (2) rear tow hooks in the front, and two (2) in the rear shall be provided on the apparatus. These shall be fastened to the chassis frame rails.

FLUID DATA PLAQUE A fluid data plaque containing required information shall be provided based on the applicable components for this apparatus, meeting current NFPA 1901 Standards as follows: A. Engine oil B. Engine coolant C. Chassis transmission fluid D. Pump transmission lubrication fluid E. Pump primer fluid F. Drive axle(s) lubrication fluid G. Air conditioning refrigerant H. Air conditioning lubrication I. Power steering fluid J. Cab-tilt mechanism fluid K. Transfer case fluid L. Equipment rack fluid M. Air compressor system lubricant N. Generator system lubricant Location shall be in the driver's compartment of the chassis cab. OVERALL HEIGHT, LENGTH, GVW DATA PLAQUE The cab dash area shall have a highly visible plaque noting overall maximum height of vehicle, length and GVW of the finished apparatus. "NO RIDE" LABEL A label shall be located on the vehicle at the rear step areas, and at any cross walkways, if they exist. The label(s) shall warn personnel that riding in or on these areas while the vehicle is in motion is prohibited. SEATING LABEL A label shall be installed in cab to denote the exact number of passengers to be carried in cab. 500 GPM PUMP The pump shall be a Darley, model HM500, single-stage construction, PTO driven pump or equivalent, and shall comply with all applicable requirements of the latest standards for automotive fire apparatus of the National Fire Protection Association and shall have a rated capacity of 500 GPM at 150 PSI. COLOR CODED LABELS A set of color coded and function described labels shall be provided on the apparatus for the pump operator's controls, gated inlets, discharge outlets, drains, and pressure gauges (as applicable). The labels shall be a high quality material with a durable adhesive on the back.

PUMP PANEL LIGHT The pump panel shall have adequate illumination to be able to easily read all pump panel information for night time operations. PUMP SYSTEM 500 GPM PTO A power takeoff (PTO) driven centrifugal booster pump rated up to 500 GPM @ 150 PSI, shall be provided. The pump shall be placed in gear from the chassis cab. The pump shift shall be clearly labeled. The pump gear ratio shall be selected by the builder of the pump for the application. The pump shall have a nickel alloy casing. A bronze, double hubbed impeller, mechanically and hydraulically balanced, shall be installed on a splined stainless steel shaft. The impeller shaft shall be supported by oil lubricated ball bearings. The pump gear case shall be silent running, with helically cut gears, fully supported by ball bearings, and shall have two (2) replaceable, bronze seal rings. PTO DRIVE The pump shall be driven by integral PTO. The PTO model and gear ratio shall be determined by the prime contractor's Engineering Department. A driveline properly balanced from the PTO to the pump shall be supplied and installed. PUMP SHIFT - PTO Pump and Roll One (1) PTO shall be installed to drive the fire pump. An electrically activated switch shall be installed in the cab to engage the fire pump. Safety interlocks shall be provided to ensure the pump drive system components are properly engaged to safely operate the pump during standard pumping and pump and roll applications. Pump shifting instructions shall be provided at the pump shifting location. PLUMBING SYSTEM The plumbing system shall consist of stainless steel hard piping, or flexible high pressure hose with stainless steel ends, as deemed necessary for the application. Upon completion, the entire system shall be fully pressure tested. The plumbing and valve arrangement shall be capable of delivering water to the pump at a minimum flow rate of 500 GPM while pumping at 150 psi pressure. All intakes shall be provided with suitable closers (valves or caps) capable of withstanding 500 PSI. All discharges and intakes shall terminate with chrome NST adapters, with chrome caps and chains, unless detailed otherwise in these specifications. NOTE: WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE INTAKE RELIEF VALVE, ALL VALVES ADDED BY APPARATUS MANUFACTURER SHALL BE AKRON

MECHANICAL SEAL The pump shall be furnished with a Darley maintenance free mechanical seal. The mechanical seal shall be a non-contacting, non-wearing dual seal design. Seal shall be a Silicon Carbide Mechanical seals with welded springs. The stationary face of mechanical seals shall be made from Silicon Carbide, and be extremely hard and of a heat dissipative material, which resists wear and dry running damage much better than conventional Ni-resist and Tungsten Carbide materials PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE-NONE Pressure controlled by electronic governor. INTAKE RELIEF VALVE One (1) bronze intake relief valve shall be provided and mounted on the suction side of the pump, adjustable from 50-250 psi, on the valve itself. The valve shall be factory preset at approximately 125 psi. The system does not include an on/off control. ELECTRIC PRIMER (FLUIDLESS) The fire pump priming system shall consist of one (1) 12V positive displacement type rotary vane primer of a fluidless design. A single control shall be located on the pump operator's panel. The primer shall not require a lubrication tank. The priming pump shall be constructed of heat treated aluminum and hard coat anodized. MASTER DRAIN One (1) rotary style master drain shall be installed on the lower portion of the side control panel. It shall be of brass construction and use a rotary screw mechanism against a rubber sealing surface. Each port shall be isolated. An "open and closed" label with arrows indicating direction shall be installed. 1/4 TURN DRAINS Each gated 1-1/2" or larger inlet and discharge shall have a quarter turn drain valve installed. The drain valves shall be located along the bottom on each pump panel. Inlets & discharges shall be plumbed to each drain at the lowest point. Each drain shall be plumbed with low-pressure hose to drain below bottom of the apparatus and be directed away from the pump operator. Each drain valve shall have a T-handle control with a recess in the "T" for a color-coded function label. PUMP PANEL ID PLATE An identification plate, prepared by the fire pump manufacturer, shall be installed on the pump operator control panel to identify the fire pump serial number, model number, and performance.

WARNING - PUMP OPERATOR A warning plate shall be installed on the pump operator's panel which states the following: WARNING: Death or serious injury might occur if proper operating procedures are not followed, or similar. INLETS/OUTLETS The apparatus shall have no less than the following: One (1) 4" suction steamer inlet with male NH threads shall be provided on the apparatus. The inlet shall have a removable screen. One (1) 2-1/2" brass suction valve shall be installed on the apparatus. The control handle shall be the quarter turn ball type, of the fixed pivot design, and located along side the suction valve. The suction shall terminate with a 2-1/2" female NST chrome inlet swivel, a chrome male plug, chain, and a brass inlet strainer. Two (2) 2-1/2" discharge outlets with 2-1/2" pipe and valve and chrome NST threads shall be installed. The valve shall be a quarter turn ball type, self locking, fixed pivot design and shall be operated with a lever control from the operator's panel. The valve shall be a bronze valve with a high polished stainless steel ball. The valve shall have a chrome cap and a stainless steel retaining chain. A gauge, as described elsewhere, shall be installed on the operator's control panel adjacent to each control. ANY ADDITIONAL INLETS/OUTLETS SHALL BE CONSIDERED AS VALUE ADDED ITEMS. TANK TO PUMP LINE (ELECTRIC) One (1) 4.00 tank to pump line shall be provided for connection between a water tank and the fire pump. The valve shall be a 4.00" butterfly type. The valve shall be controlled from the pump operator panel using an electric open/closed, twoposition toggle switch with a green indicator light for the open position, and an amber indicator light for the closed position. The Tank to Pump Plumbing System and Valve Arrangement Shall be Capable of delivering water to the fire pump at a minimum flow rate of 800 GPM, while pumping at 150-psi pressure. 2" TANK FILL One (1) 2" pump to tank fill line shall be installed with a 2" inline bronze valve. The valve shall be manually controlled and properly labeled. TWO (2) 1 ¾ CROSSLAYS Two (2) 1-3/4" crosslays shall be installed on the apparatus. The crosslays shall each have capacity for 200 ft. of 1-3/4" double jacket fire hose. Two (2) 2-1/2" liquid filled gauges, each with a stainless steel bezel shall be provided, one for each discharge. The gauges shall be located on the pump operator's panel near the respective discharge control.

CROSSLAY HOSE RETENTION The crosslays shall have a hose retention system that meets NFPA requirements. BOOSTER REEL One (1) HANNAY painted steel booster reel with electric rewind shall be supplied and mounted on the apparatus within easy reach from a standing position on the ground. The reel shall be capable of carrying 150 feet of 1-inch booster hose. The reel shall have 1 Female NPT inlets with 90 degree ball bearing swivel joints. The reel shall have a 1 Male NST outlet. The reel shall have one (1) booster rewind button located next to it. There shall be an auxiliary gear-driven crank rewind that shall be easily accessible. 1 BOOSTER REEL HOSE The booster reel shall be supplied with 150 of 1 lightweight non-collapsible hose. AKRON FORESTRY MONITOR An Akron forestry wildland electric monitor model 3462 Forestry Monitor shall be installed in the front bumper. The monitor shall be plumbed with 2 ½ Class1 high pressure hose from the pump. Drain pit cocks shall be furnished in the supply line to allow for draining the pipe for cold weather operations. This item shall be priced separately as a complete installation, and with the manufacturer providing the plumbing to the front bumper only. This shall also be priced with the quick disconnect option.. MONITOR NOZZLE An Akron flow adjustable electric fog nozzle shall be supplied with the monitor. GROUND SWEEP NOZZLES Two (2) ¾ fixed ground sweep nozzles, plumbed to the on-board foam system, shall be provided and installed beneath the front bumper of the apparatus. One (1) nozzle shall be provided on the driver s side end of the front bumper and one (1) nozzle shall be provided on the passenger s side of the front bumper. The nozzles shall be plumbed with stainless steel piping or flexible high pressure hose. The nozzles shall be controlled from individual switches provided in the cab center console. The nozzles shall be capable of being put into operation during pump and roll operations. Nozzle valves and plumbing shall be enclosed or protected. LED WATER LEVEL GAUGE The apparatus shall have a minimum of three (3) LED water level gauges. One shall be installed in the cab within view of the driver, one shall be installed on the pump control panel, and a large LED display shall be installed on the rear of the tank.

INDIVIDUAL PRESSURE GAUGES Individual pressure gauges shall be provided, one for each discharge. Gauges shall read from -30" Hg. to 600 psi and shall be accurate to within 1%. The gauges shall be located on the pump operator's panel near the respective discharge control. MASTER PRESSURE GAUGE One master pressure gauge shall be provided, reading from -30" Hg. to 600 psi. It shall be accurate to within 1%. The gauge shall be located on the pump operator's panel. MASTER INTAKE GAUGE One (1) master intake gauge shall be provided, reading from -30" Hg. to 600 psi. It shall be accurate to within 1%. The gauge shall be located on the pump operator's panel. PRESSURE GOVERNOR and ENGINE MONITORING DISPLAY A pressure governor and monitoring display kit shall be installed. The following continuous displays shall be provided: Engine RPM Check engine and stop engine warning LEDs Oil pressure Engine coolant temperature Transmission Temperature Battery voltage Pressure and RPM operating mode LEDs Pressure / RPM setting Throttle ready LED. It shall monitor inputs and support audible and visual warning alarms for the following conditions: High Battery Voltage Low Battery Voltage (Engine Off) Low Battery Voltage (Engine Running) High Transmission Temperature Low Engine Oil Pressure High Engine Coolant Temperature Low water supply No Engine Response (visual alarm only). The governor shall operate in two control modes, pressure and RPM. No discharge pressure or engine RPM variation shall occur when switching between modes. A throttle ready LED shall light when the interlock signal is recognized. The governor shall start in pressure mode and set the engine RPM to idle. In pressure mode the governor shall automatically regulate the discharge pressure at the level set by the operator. In RPM mode the governor shall maintain the engine RPM at the level set by the operator except in the event of a discharge

pressure increase. The governor shall limit a discharge pressure increase in RPM mode to a maximum of 30 psi. The pressure governor and display shall be programmed to interface with the chassis engine. FOAM SYSTEM The apparatus shall be equipped with Foam Pro 1600 series single agent foam system or equivalent. An installation and operation manual shall be provided for the unit, along with a one-year limited warranty by the manufacturer. The system must be installed and calibrated by a Certified FoamPro Dealer, or a certified installer of an equivalent system. The system design shall have passed environmental testing which simulates heavy use on off-road mobile apparatus. Testing shall have been conducted in accordance to SAE standards. CLASS A ONLY The foam system will only operate Class A foam. 3000 GALLON POLY TANK Tank shall have a capacity of 3000 gallons and shall carry a lifetime warranty from the manufacturer. The tank manufacturer shall furnish notice that indicates proof of warranty. The purpose of the notice is to inform department personnel who work, store, stock, or use the tank that the unit is under warranty. CONSTRUCTION The tank shall be constructed using polypropylene with a minimum thickness of ½. This material shall be a high impact co-polymer (HIC) non-corrosive stress relieved thermoplastic, UV stabilized for maximum protection. All joints and seams shall be nitrogen welded and tested for maximum strength and integrity. Tank shall be equipped with a see-thru water level indicator at the rear of the tank. All tank baffling shall meet the latest NFPA standard as well as any other applicable standard at the time of manufacture FILL TOWER The tank shall have a vent/ fill tower. The tower shall have a removable polypropylene screen and a polypropylene hinged type cover. Inside the fill tower, approx 4 down from the top shall be fastened a combination vent overflow pipe. The vent overflow shall be a minimum of schedule 40 polypropylene pipe with a minimum I.D. of 4 that is designed to run through the tank, and shall be piped behind the rear wheels. SUMP There shall be one (1) sump standard per tank. The sump shall be constructed of polypropylene. The sump shall have a 4 NPT threaded outlet on the bottom for a drain plug. This shall be used as a combination cleanout and drain. All tanks shall have an anti-swirl plate located approx 2 above the sump.

TANK OUTLETS The tank shall have the appropriate amount of 10 Newton Dump Valve flanges as specified in this document. Appropriate tank openings will be provided for tank suction and tank fills. All tank fill couplings shall be backed with flow deflectors to break up the stream of water entering the tank, and be capable of withstanding sustained fill rates of up to 1000 gpm. All outlets and inlets must meet all NFPA 1901 guidelines in effect at the time of manufacture. CLEAR WATER LEVEL GAUGE The rear wall of the tank shall have a standard built-in liquid level sight gauge. TANK MOUNTING Tank must be mounted in accordance with the most current DOT, NFPA and any other applicable standard. The tank shall be mounted in the safest way possible to help prevent rollover. HOSEBED Tank shall have a minimum 9 high hose bed around three sides of the top of the tank. PAINT Tank shall be painted to match cab. FOAM CELL The apparatus shall have a 30 gallon foam tank. HOSEBED RETENTION The apparatus shall be equipped with an NFPA compliant hose retention system. DUMP VALVE The apparatus shall have one (1) 10 manual dump valve located in the center of the rear of the tank as low as possible to allow for maximum drain. The dump valve and chute shall have the ability to dump straight off of the back of the vehicle, or to either side. 2 ½ REAR TANK FILL (LEFT SIDE) One (1) 2 ½ direct tank fill will be located at the rear of the tank, on the left side of the dump valve. The valve shall be a swing out valve with a 15 degree turndown with a chrome swivel and plug. 2 ½ REAR TANK FILL (RIGHT SIDE) One (1) 2 ½ direct tank fill will be located at the rear of the tank, on the right side of the dump valve. The valve shall be a swing out valve with a 15 degree turndown with a chrome swivel and plug.

COMPARTMENTATION FRONT OF AXLE COMPARTMENTS COMPARTMENT D1: One (1) compartment shall be supplied on the driver s side of the truck in front of the tandem axle. This compartment shall have a volume of not less than 21,000 cubic inches. The compartment shall be constructed from diamondplate aluminum and shall be of sweep out design. COMPARTMENT P1: One (1) compartment shall be supplied on the passenger s side of the truck in front of the tandem axle. This compartment shall have a volume of not less than 21,000 cubic inches. The compartment shall be constructed from diamondplate aluminum and shall be of sweep out design. REAR OF AXLE COMPARTMENTS COMPARTMENT D2: One (1) compartment shall be supplied on the driver s side of the truck behind the tandem axle. This compartment shall have a volume of not less than 11,500 cubic inches. The compartment shall be constructed from diamondplate aluminum and shall be of sweep out design. COMPARTMENT P2: One (1) compartment shall be supplied on the passenger s side of the truck behind the tandem axle. This compartment shall have a volume of not less than 11,500 cubic inches. The compartment shall be constructed from diamondplate aluminum and shall be of sweep out design. All compartments shall be supported by a steel frame and attached to the truck frame with grade 8 bolts. COMPARTMENT DOORS All compartment doors shall be Roll-Up style doors of appropriate size. The securing method will be full width lift bar to be operated with one hand, even with heavy gloves. COMPARTMENT LIGHTING Each compartment shall contain one (1) full length LED strip light. Strip lighting shall provide uniform light dispersion throughout the compartment even when shelves are installed. The compartment strip lighting shall be automatically activated whenever a compartment door is opened.

COMPARTMENT FLOOR MATS All enclosed side body compartments shall have floor mats installed in them, custom cut to fit the compartment floors. The floor mats shall be easily removable to allow the compartment to be cleaned. The floor mats shall be designed to provide ventilation to the equipment stored in the compartment, and to protect the stored equipment from direct contact with the metal compartment floor surfaces. HOSEBED COMPARTMENTS There shall be compartmentation built in to the hosebed area that shall run approximately the length of the passenger s side of the hosebed. These boxes shall be 12 tall and 36 deep. The doors and compartments shall be made of diamond plate aluminum. The doors shall have latching handles and when open shall be supported by a gas strut. The compartments shall be built to prevent moisture from entering when closed. Each compartment shall have an LED light that is activated when its door is open. This compartmentation may be divided up into multiple boxes if necessary for engineering purposes. A description of the dimensions of these compartments shall be included with each bidder s proposal. VENTS Each compartment shall have one (1) louvered vent that shall provided proper ventilation and prevent water from entering the compartment. SCBA WHEEL WELL STORAGE Four (4) SCBA bottle compartments, each with a locking door, shall be mounted within the rear fender areas, (2) each side. Each compartment shall Measure no less than 8 across x 27.50 deep. DROP TANK STORAGE The apparatus shall have an area designated and designed to hold a Port-atank with a capacity of no less than the capacity of the tank of the apparatus. HARD SUCTION STORAGE There shall be a storage area built in to the apparatus to hold two (2) 10 sections of 4 hard suction hose. TAILBOARD The rear tailboard shall be built of a material which is suitable as a walking surface. ACCESS LADDER There shall be an access ladder to access the top of the tank. Folding steps may be substituted for a ladder.

12 VOLT ELECTRICAL SYSTEM The truck shall have a 12-Volt electrical system. All wiring will be run in convoluted high temperature plastic loom. Wiring shall be color and function coded and will be of adequate size to handle the assigned load. All solenoids, relays, and terminal blocks will be located in an easily accessible area. All circuits provided shall have properly rated low voltage over current protective devices. All electrical will be accordance with modern automotive wiring standards. All under side terminal junctions shall be fully enclosed in sealed plastic weather proof boxes. Electromagnetic interference suppression shall be provided as required to satisfy the radiation limits specified in SAE J551/1. ALTERNATOR PERFORMANCE TEST AT FULL LOAD The total continuous electrical load shall be applied with the chassis engine running up to the engine manufacturer s governed speed. The test duration shall be a minimum of two (2) hours. The activation of the electrical system load management system shall be permitted during this test. The activation of an alarm due to excessive chassis battery discharge, as detected by the system required by NFPA (current edition), or an electrical system voltage of less than 11.8 VDC for a 12 VDC nominal system, for more than 120 seconds, shall be considered a failure of this test. Documentation shall be provided demonstrating a completion of this test. MASTER BATTERY SWITCH A master battery on/off switch with shall be provided in the cab, near the driver s door. A green light indicating that the battery is on shall be visible from the driver s position. BACK-UP ALARM One (1) Back up Alarm shall be provided and installed at the rear of the unit. It shall be wired to activate when the transmission is placed in reverse. LOW VOLTAGE ALARM A low voltage alarm system shall be supplied and installed with an audio and visual warning indicator located in the cab. LOAD MANAGEMENT SYSTEM A load management system shall be installed in the apparatus. ADDITIONAL ANTENNA BASES Two (2) additional antenna bases shall be located on the roof of the chassis of the apparatus. These bases shall each have a coaxial cable ran to a location in the cab of the purchasing department s choosing.

UNDERBODY/CAB GROUND LIGHTS No less than four (4) 4 clear ground LED illumination lights, with outward facing angle brackets shall be provided and installed. The lights shall activate with the parking brake or when the transmission is placed in "neutral" or park. LICENSE PLATE LIGHT A license plate bracket with light shall be provided and installed on the rear of the body. It shall be wired to come on with the headlights. DO NOT MOVE APPARATUS A warning system shall be installed in the apparatus to inform the driver of conditions that could create a possible hazardous should the vehicle be moved. The warning shall consist of no less than a red light that is easily visible to the driver. A label that says Do Not Move Apparatus When Light is on or similar wording shall be placed adjacent to the light. In addition, accessories such as a ladder rack (or similar storage rack), any extendable light or tower or a telescoping deck gun device shall also be connected to this ajar circuit, to activate the light when any of these items are not properly stowed, and the parking brake is not engaged. CONSOLE All controls, warnings, and indicators to which the operator should have access or sight, shall be organized to create an efficient and ergonomic layout. The console area of the vehicle shall have no less than three (3) spare circuits, up to 30A each, ran to the area for additional equipment and terminated in a manner so as to render them safe should they not be used. The purchaser may elect to have these circuits to be connected directly to the battery, or powered with the battery switch. NFPA LIGHTING PACKAGE LIGHTBAR One (1) WHELEN LED lightbar shall be mounted on the apparatus. The LED colors and lens colors shall be selected by the purchaser. WARNING LIGHTS, UPPER ZONE The vehicle shall have an NFPA compliant warning light package. All warning lights shall be Whelen LED lights. All lights shall be controlled by a rocker switch on the console and by the emergency master switch. PERIMETER LIGHTS The vehicle shall have an NFPA compliant warning light package. All warning lights shall be Whelen LED lights. All lights shall be controlled by a rocker switch on the console and by the emergency master switch. NOTE: All LEDs shall be red and all lenses shall be clear.

REAR BEACONS Two (2) Whelen model L31H Super LED beacons shall be provided and installed on the upper rear corners of the tank. Both beacons shall be controlled by a switch on the console, and by the emergency master switch. The color of the beacons shall be: Driver s side shall be red Officer s side shall be Amber SIREN One (1) siren controller shall be installed in the cab within easy reach of the driver. It shall have the following options: Hard Wired Microphone Public Address Air Horn Hands Free Operation 100 WATT SPEAKER One (1) cast aluminum speaker rated at no less than 100 watts shall be flush mounted in the front bumper. DOT LIGHTING Exterior vehicle lighting shall meet DOT regulations. All DOT lighting shall be LED with the exception of the headlights. WHELEN TRAFFIC ADVISOR A traffic advisor light shall be installed on the rear of the apparatus. The control head shall be mounted inside the chassis cab and be within reach of the driver. The light shall have the following functions: left right inside to outside flash THIS ITEM SHALL BE PRICED SEPARATELY AS AN OPTION.

TELESCOPIC LED FLOODLIGHTS Two LED model side mount push up telescopic lights shall be installed. The light poles shall be anodized aluminum and have a knurled twist lock mechanism to secure the extension pole in position. The extension poles shall rotate 360 degrees. The outer poles shall be a grooved aluminum extrusion and qualify as an NFPA compliant handrail. The pole mounting brackets shall have a 3 1/2" offset. Wiring shall extend from the pole bottoms with a 4' retractable cord. The lampheads ultra-bright white LEDs. They shall operate at 12 volt DC, and generate a minimum of 14,000 lumens. The lampheads angle of elevation shall be adjustable at a pivot in the mounting arms and the position locked with a round knurled locking knob. The lampheads shall incorporate heat-dissipating fins. The lampheads and mounting arms shall be powder coated white. The floodlights shall be for fire service use. One light shall be located on each side of the vehicle body. THIS ITEM SHALL BE PRICED SEPARATELY AS AN OPTION SCENE LIGHTS Six (6) WHELEN halogen scene lights shall be mounted on the tank, in CAST aluminum bezels. The lights shall be mounted in the following locations: Two (2) Drivers side, one (1) each corner Two (2) Passengers side, (1) each corner Two (2) Rear, (1) each corner All six (6) lights shall be controlled by a rocker switch within easy reach of the driver. LIGHT TOWER A Shadow-RT, manufactured by Command Light, part number SL415-RT-LED, light tower shall be provided and installed on the apparatus. The light tower and its controls shall be installed in a location according to instructions given by the customer and the requirements of the light tower manufacturer. The light tower shall extend 49-1/2" above the mounting surface and shall extend to full upright position in less than 15 seconds. The overall size of nested light tower shall be 48" long x 30" wide x 8-1/2" high and weigh approximately 75 pounds. THIS ITEM SHALL BE PRICED SEPARATELY AS AN OPTION. LIGHT TOWER CONSTRUCTION AND DESIGN The Command Light assembly shall be of aluminum construction, with stainless steel shafts and bronze bushings for long life and low maintenance. The electrically controlled unit shall not require usage of the vehicle's air supply for operation, thereby eliminating the chance for air leaks in the vehicle braking system. Hydraulic or pneumatic type floodlights are not acceptable alternatives to the specified all electric light tower. The light tower shall be tested to in wind conditions of 90 mph (150 kph) minimum. Other type floodlights that have not been tested to these conditions are not acceptable.

LIGHT TOWER ELECTRICAL SYSTEM The light tower shall be a single-stage device capable of 355 degree rotation. The light shall be elevated by an electric linear actuators, the actuator shall adjust the light bank angle from 0 to 110 degrees. The tower base shall have a light that illuminates the envelope of motion during any movement of the light tower mast as required by NFPA1901. LIGHT TOWER CONTROLS The light tower shall be controlled with a hand-held 6 foot umbilical line remote control. The storage station for the remote control unit shall be equipped with a button to activate the "Auto-Park" automatic nesting feature. The controls on the remote box shall be: Two (2) switches for each 2 light bank One (1) switch for elevating /retracting the arm One (1) switch for rotation of the light bank One (1) switch to engage Auto-Park One (1) indicator light to indicate when light bank is out of roof nest position. One (1) indicator light to indicate when light bank is rotated to proper nest position. KUSSMAUL BATTERY CHARGER Kussmaul model #091-56-12-S-KIT, Auto Charge 1000 battery charger shall be wired to the 12 volt battery system. The charger unit shall be mounted in a clean dry area and will be accessible for service and/or maintenance. AUTO EJECT RECEPTACLE Kussmaul model 20 amp "auto-eject" shore power receptacle shall be provided on the apparatus. The shore power plug shall be "ejected" when the chassis's engine starter is engaged. The receptacle shall be wired to any 120 volt A/C equipment that requires shore power. An aluminum enclosure shall be provided with the receptacle for protection from road dirt and damage. The location shall be on the left side on the exterior of the vehicle.

AIR INLET W/DISCONNECT A Kussmaul Air Eject HP shall be supplied and installed on the apparatus. STRIPING A White reflective stripe no less than 6 wide shall be applied around the perimeter of the truck. NFPA Compliant reflective material shall be affixed to the inside of each hinged door. CHEVRON STRIPING At least 50% of the rear of the unit shall be covered with alternating 6" stripes of colors that meet NFPA requirement in an inverted Chevron pattern. Preferred colors are red and fluorescent green-yellow. LETTERING Faux gold leaf lettering shall be applied to each passenger door of the fire apparatus to match existing department apparatus. An allowance shall be included for up to fifty (50) letters. An allowance shall be included to provide and install up to fifty (50) reflective letters up to 12 in height. FOLDING TANK One (1) collapsible frame Fol-Da-Tank shall be supplied. It shall have a 17 oz. HPR High Performance Rubber liner that shall be yellow in color. Grab handles shall be placed on the side wall of the liner to help the firefighter pick up the liner when folding. The tank shall have a capacity of not less than the capacity of the tank of the apparatus. SUCTION HOSE Two (2) sections of 4 X 10 flexible, see thru hard suction hoses shall be furnished. THIS ITEM SHALL BE PRICED SEPARATELY AS AN OPTION. BARREL STRAINER One (1) KOCHEK BS40, 4 aluminum barrel strainer or equivalent shall be provided. THIS ITEM SHALL BE PRICED SEPARATELY AS AN OPTION. THE FOLLOWING LOOSE EQUIPMENT SHALL BE SUPPLIED WITH THE FINISHED APPARATUS: GROUND LADDERS The following fire service ground ladders shall be furnished and installed on the completed apparatus: One (1) 24ft. two section aluminum extension ladder One (1) 14ft. single section aluminum roof ladder with folding roof hooks One (1) 10ft. folding aluminum attic ladder THESE ITEMS SHALL BE PRICED SEPARATELY AS AN OPTION.

LADDER BRACKETS Racks shall be installed on the apparatus to accommodate the above listed ladders. PURCHASER RESPONSIBILITY It shall be the responsibility of the purchaser to supply all NFPA 1901 equipment not listed in this specification before the apparatus is placed in service. INSPECTION TRIP The bidder s price shall include a final inspection trip for two (2) personnel from the purchasing fire department. The trip shall include: round-trip airline from SLC Airport, ground transportation, and hotel accommodations for two (2) nights. DELIVERY Delivery of the apparatus from the factory to the purchasing department s home location shall be included in the price of the vehicle. The vehicle shall be delivered under it s own power. WARRANTY PROVISIONS ONE (1) YEAR APPARATUS WARRANTY All materials and workmanship herein specified, including all equipment furnished, shall be guaranteed for a period of one (1) year after the acceptance date of the apparatus, unless otherwise noted, with the exception of any normal maintenance services or adjustments which shall be required. Under this warranty, the apparatus manufacturer shall be responsible for the costs of repairs to the apparatus that have been caused by defective workmanship or materials during this period. This warranty shall not apply to the following: - Any component parts or trade accessories such as chassis, engines, tires, pumps, valves, signaling devices, batteries, electric lights, bulbs, alternators, and all other installed equipment and accessories, in as much as they are usually warranted separately by their respective manufacturers, or are subject to normal wear and tear. - Failures resulting from the apparatus being operated in a manner or for a purpose not recommended by the apparatus manufacturer. - Loss of time or use of the apparatus, inconvenience or other incidental expenses. - Any apparatus which has been repaired or altered outside of the apparatus manufacturer's factory in any way that affects its stability, or which has been subject to misuse, negligence, or accident.
