Installation of Insulation sets Tee-insulation Longitudinal insulation Corner insulation After installing the coupling, site the bottom of the insulation set and the pipes. Put the sealing stripe around the shell pipe. Note: The insulated part of the pipes must be situated at least 10 cm over the half moon of the 200 mm diameter. Put the mineral fibre mat around the uninsulated medium pipes. Put the sealing mastic onto the flange edge (c. 6 mm thick). Put the upper part of the insulation set onto the lower part. Put the screws in and screw them in tightly. 10

Installation of Pipe Connection Chambers Preparing the trench Lay an even and dense layer of sand at the bottom of the trench. If necessary (e.g. because of ground water) install an anchor plate first in order to secure the chamber against buoyancy Traffic load Occasional temporary load without load distribution plate at 500 mm cover: 3000kg (~ 6000kg/m2), e.g. passage of agricultural vehicles. Permanent load on lid up to 500kg (~ 1000kg/ m2) allowed, e.g. parking car. Installation of chambers Push the shrinking hoses over the pipe ends. Saw off the connection in accordance with the dimensions of the shell pipe on the chamber. Install coupling. Push the shrinking hose over the connection and shrink the cross over with a light flame (first shrink the shrinking hose to the chamber connection and then to the shell pipe). Carry out pressure test of the pipe network and place the lid on the chamber. Screw in screws crosswise. Cover the chamber carefully with sand and seal sand in layers (of c. 20-30 cm). Do not use machinery for sealing directly on top of the chamber. Standard cover for chambers is 500 mm, a minimum cover of 300 mm is allowed if there are no direct loads over the chamber. Installation of cross over couplings Pipes Ø < = 75 mm Cut the pipe at right angles. Push the coupling nut and the clamp ring over the pipe. Push the pipe over the cylindrical connection until you reach the base of the thread. Screw the coupling nut onto the thread of the connection. After installing the fittings heat the pipe system to c. 60-80 C using a heat gun and retighten the coupling nut. Pipes Ø >= 90 mm Cut the pipe at right angles. Push the individual parts over the pipe in the order shown in the picture below. Hammer the supporting pipe entirely into the pipe. Push the pipe into the screwing body until you reach the base of the thread. Push the individual parts towards the screwing body. Screw in the flange. 11

Pipe Laying Transport Loading and unloading should be done using nylon or cloth belt. Forklifts should use protection hoses. Make sure that outer shells and pipes are not damaged by sharp edges. Trenches When digging a trench put the excavated soil to one side of the trench, so that the pipes can be unrolled on the other side and laid directly into the trench. Laying Pipes Unload pipe bundles at the location where you will start unrolling them. Fix the free pipe end to the ground (e.g. using a sand bag) and unroll alongside the trench. For pipe dimensions of 90/125 mm we recommend to couple pipes before laying them into the sand bed. Please note: Do not drag plastic pipes on the floor, Do not unroll them on top of edges or sharp objects (e.g. stones) Do not go below the minimum bending radius. Trench depth/cover without traffic load min. 400 mm with traffic load min 800 mm Laying in concrete Laying under a road 14

Consideration of an absolute distortion of 100mm based on the external diameter. 2. Consideration of a distortion of 5% based on the inside diameter. The tests were carried out under the most unfavourable conditions, i.e. only the PE HD-half bowls in the screwed together state, without insulation or pre-insulated pipes. Therefore, higher set back forces will arise in practice. 17
