Vehicle Disassembly. a. Place the Vehicle in Park with the Parking Brake set. b. Disconnect the Negative Battery Terminal. Note the Battery Cable Position as it will be re-installed in the same position. CAUTION: Do not touch the Positive Terminal. Page 4 of 18

c. Remove the Passenger s Side Step Cover. d. Remove the Passenger s Side Cowl Cover. Remove 1 Nut. e. Remove the Passenger s Side Dash Side Trim. Apply Protective Tape on Pry area. Page 5 of 18

f. Remove the Passenger s Side Dash Cover. Apply Protective Tape on Pry area. g. Dislodge the Glove Box Under Cover. Disconnect Vehicle Connector. h. Dislodge the Passenger s Knee Airbag carefully. Remove 3 Bolts. CAUTION: Do not disconnect the Airbag s Connector. Page 6 of 18

i. Wrap the Airbag in a Blanket or the like and place it on top of the TVIP box. CAUTION: Prevent stress on the Airbag Wire. j. Remove 2 Screws from the bottom of the Glove Box. k. Open the Glove Box. l. Remove the Glove Box Trim. Page 7 of 18

m. Dislodge the Glove Box. Remove 3 Screws. n. Remove the Vehicle s Harness clamp on the top left side of the Glove Box. Rotate Clamp 90 then pull up. o. Disconnect the Vehicle s Connectors. p. Remove the Glove Box Lamp. q. Remove the Glove Box. Page 8 of 18

Flatblade Jeweler s Screwdriver Fig. 2-1 2. V2 ECU Preparation and Installation. a. Set the GBS Sensitivity Value to 8. Fig. 2-2 b. Attach the GBS ECU Bracket to the GBS ECU as shown. c. Install the GBS ECU onto the Vehicle Brace using the supplied Bolt and Washer. NOTE: Make sure the Guide Pin is seated correctly and verify that the Bolt is tightened securely. Page 9 of 18

3. V2 Harness Installation. a. Plug in the V2 White 8P Connector to the GBS ECU. b. Connect the V2 Black 5P Connector to the Vehicle s Black 5P Pre-Connector. c. Secure the 5P Connectors to the Vehicle Harness using 1 Wire Tie. VERIFY: That Connectors do not touch the Vehicle Brace. d. Secure the V2 Harness to the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie. Secure Wire Tie 25 mm from the V2 Harness s Branch Point. Rotate The Ratched End of the Wire Tie as shown. Page 10 of 18

e. Secure the V2 Harness to the Vehicle Harness using 1 Wire Tie. Rotate the Ratchet End of the Wire Tie as shown. f. Secure the V2 Harness to the Vehicle Harness using 1 Wire Tie. Rotate the Ratchet End of the Wire Tie as shown. g. Secure the V2 Harness s White 2P Connector to the Vehicle Harness using 1 Wire Tie. Page 11 of 18

10mm Socket, Extension, Torque Wrench, Phillips Screwdriver Fig. 4-1 4. Microphone Installation. a. Partially reassemble the Vehicle. NOTE: When reinstalling Knee Airbag, make sure to tighten the Bolts to 88.5 in lbf (10 N m). VERIFY: That all Connectors are plugged in. VERIFY: That Panels fit together properly, with no uneven gaps. Do not Install 0mm Fig. 4-2 b. Using the VDC approved cleaner and Cleaning Method, clean the area indicated on the backside of the Glove Box Under Cover. c. Attach the GBS Microphone to the backside of the Glove Box Under Cover as shown. NOTE: Make sure to align GBS Microphone to the edge of the Glove Box Under Cover opening. 15mm Page 12 of 18

Connect the V2 White 2P Connector to the Microphone s Connector. f. Reconnect the Foot Lamp Connector to the Glove Box Under Cover. g. Reinstall the Glove Box Under Cover. Page 13 of 18

Fig. 5-1 5. Complete the Installation. a. Finish reassembling the Vehicle. VERIFY: That all Connectors are plugged in. ALREADY INSTALLED VERIFY: That panels fit together properly, with no uneven gaps. b. Clean up and Remove trash. c. Sealed in its protective bag, place the Owner s Manual in the Glove Box. Use Household Glass Cleaner to clean the inside of the Front Door Windows. e. Use a piece of Clear Tape to lift the Label off its protective backing. CAUTION: Do not touch the adhesive surface. f. Attach the Label as shown. NOTE: Make sure to Align the Label according to Etching or Other Label. REPEAT: steps d-f with the other Window. Page 14 of 18

Fig. 5-3 g. Verify that the Short Pin is installed. If not install now. h. Position the Negative Battery Cable at the original factory position. Tighten the Nut to 48 in lbf (5.4 N m) CAUTION: Do not touch the Positive Terminal. Page 15 of 18

CHECKLIST these points MUST be checked to ensure a quality installation. Accessory Function Checks Roll up all windows, and exit the vehicle with the remote. Take out the Smart Key and the Smart Card Key from the Vehicle. Place them 7 ft. (2 meters) or more away from the Vehicle. Perform 1 Lock the doors to start the system s arming process. Look For The turn signal lights flash once. All doors lock. The Security LED lights up. 2 Wait 30 seconds. Security LED starts flashing; the system is now armed. Perform the following check in a temperature controlled environment (50-90 F) 3 With the tip of a key, or Striker Tool pulled all the way out (PPO only), tap the center of the driver s door windows to trigger the alarm. 4 Insert the key into the driver s door key cylinder and turn it toward the back of the vehicle to stop the alarm. The horn sounds repeatedly. The headlights flash repeatedly. The turn signal lights flash repeatedly. The Security LED lights up. The horn stops sounding. All the lights stop flashing and/ or turn off. The Security LED lights up. NOTE: If the alarm does not trigger during functional verifications the Smart Key and Smart Card Key might be too close. Move them farther from the vehicle and test the system again. NOTE: If the alarm still does not trigger during the section test, increase the GBS sensitivity to the next setting and test again. NOTE: If you do not disarm the system, the alarm will last 20 seconds. It is not necessary to check the alarm duration. Vehicle Appearance Check Perform After accessory installation and removal of protective cover(s), perform a visual inspection of the vehicle. Look For Ensure no damage (including scuffs and scratches) was caused during the installation process. (For PPO installations, refer to TMS Accessory Quality Shipping Standard.) Page 16 of 18
