eco-fev: efficient Cooperative infrastructure for Fully Electric Vehicle Y. KOBAYASHI, M. LENARDI, Hitachi Europe, VIENNA, 06.February.2013 This project is co-funded by the European Union

1. Introduction Smart Mobility City Smart City establishes a well-balanced relationship between people and the Earth. Smart Mobility makes the trip to your destination fun, stress-free, and comfortable with attention to resource waste and environmental problems. Information Technology and Electric Vehicle will be the most important factors in Smart Mobility City 2

2. Aim of eco-fev project Current Issues Smart Mobility City is realized through the coordination of different infras. But each infrastructure is working separately. Project Aim To define a platform to enable information exchanges between multiple infrastructures for more organic ITS services for EV 3 EV: Electric Vehicle

3. Some examples of eco-fev application using this system To reduce EV drivers anxiety for limited driving: EV Backend Infra. Road IT Infra. Traffic event notification Vehicle FEV fleet relationship management management Network EV Charging Station Infra. C/S POI notification C/S booking Dynamic EV navigation E-mobility in co-modality 4 FEV: Fully Electric Vehicle C/S: Charging Station POI: Point of Interest notification EVs

4. An application "Dynamic EV navigation" "Dynamic EV navigation" application can dynamically guide the FEV users to the C/S and its final destination by combining different information. 5

5. eco-fev Architecture The system architecture of eco-fev project consists of 4 layers. 6 C2X: Car 2 X communication

6. Standardization for Connected EV Standardization activities related the road transport connectivity are now in progress. Standardization related to electro mobility is becoming an important issue and a pre-requisite to increase the EV penetration. www.etsi.org/website/technologies/intelligenttransportsystems.aspx eco-fev consortium plans to provide dissemination efforts to relevant standard organizations 7
