For optimum fodder quality Tradition obliges As a medium-sized, third-generation family-owned company, Strautmann has been successfully manufacturing forage wagons for 50 years for a wide application range from hay wagons to high-performance dual-purpose forage wagons; cutting units equipped with 6 50 knives in combination with powerful conveying units offer solutions for most different types of green fodder harvest. The worldwide distribution of forage wagons in countries with various individual technology requirements shows the versatility and reliability of Strautmann products under any conditions. Although Strautmann has been manufacturing forage wagons since 1963, the introduction of the rotor technology 25 years ago was an important step for the international growth of the Strautmann brand. The step into this technology was revolutionary. This system considerably improved both the efficiency and the work result. Many other manufacturers later joined this technological trend, a sign for Strautmann s "trendsetting" capacity. The latest highly innovative solution for forage wagons is called "Continuous Flow System" (CFS) and has enhanced Strautmann s continuous success on the market with this unique technology.

History: Forage wagons and Strautmann Forage wagons and Strautmann 50 years of success story The Strautmann "Ladeblitz" forage wagon of 1963. 1960 1970 1980 1963 Strautmann starts manufacturing forage wagons. The first models are called "Ladeblitz" and enormously facilitate roughage harvest due to the fact that for the first time it is possible to charge larger harvested quantities by machine and transport them over longer distances by means of a tractor. 1966 The first forage wagons from Bad Laer are equipped with a cutting unit for silage harvest. The wagons have a larger ground clearance such that the harvested silage can be ensilaged in a flat silo. 1970 Strautmann manufactures "Ladeblitz" in series production. The "Ladeblitz" is a real allround talent, because this forage wagon cannot only be used for grass harvest but can also be converted for use as a flat wagon and manure spreader. By 2012, more than 40,000 forage wagons with loading wings have been built in Bad Laer. 1974 The first Strautmann forage wagon equipped with dosing unit is built. Over the years, this feature is developing into the standard procedure for the ensilage of grass silage in flat silos in the north-west of Germany. 1986 The Strautmann Vitesse is the first forage wagon with conveying unit equipped with 5 loading wings which ensure a very easy and even charging process. 1988 Strautmann presents a silage wagon to the public for the first time. With its Super-Vitesse model, Strautmann is the first of the still active forage wagon manufacturers trusting in this innovative conveying technology, thus proving to be a clear trendsetter. 1979 The LBF 312 is manufactured for the first time. This model is a short-cut forage wagon with three loading wings, the predecessor of today s rotor conveying technology. 1979: Starting signal for the LBF 312.

A technology with tradition: Over 25 years of Strautmann rotor technology In 2010, Strautmann introduces the promising CFS system (continuous flow system). 1990 2000 2010 1991 When harvesting on 2002 The Giga-Vitesse becomes peaty soils, a smooth-running chassis the new flagship of the Strautmann with large tyres is extremely important. forage wagon fleet. With its 26.5" For this reason, Strautmann develops tyres and the 45 knives at one level, it the Super-Vitesse-H which is available sets real standards in terms of cutting with a 22.5" chassis. quality and driving comfort. Professional use for more than 20 years: the Super-Vitesse-H. 2010 CFS continuous flow system is the name of the Strautmann system of the future, which provides a lot of advantages for the customer: low power required, optimum filling degree, high acreage performance, optimum adaptation to soil, protection of drives and longer service life of the knives are the special features of this charging system which Strautmann has had patented and which first is available on the Giga-Vitesse CFS and since 2011 also on the Super-Vitesse CFS. 2012 The CFS family has grown. The two models Mega-Vitesse CFS and Tera-Vitesse CFS now complete the total number of 4 different Strautmann forage wagon series equipped with this pioneering conveying unit. The Giga-Vitesse has been in use since 2002 and has been available with CFS since 2010.

Vitesse Vitesse 37 knives The gentle kind of grass harvest High harvesting performance and minimum wear are the special features which distinguish the Strautmann Vitesse forage wagons. Whether used as a silage wagon equipped with 4 loading wings (Vitesse E), with 5 loading wings (Vitesse) or as a forage wagon with dosing unit (Vitesse DO), the Strautmann forage wagons are products of technical top quality which convince by their performance and easy towing. Above all, the Strautmann forage wagons with loading wings can convince due to their robustness. Many details contribute to support the user in his daily maintenance work: The patented, low-maintenance and low-wear loading wing bearing, which is equipped with lateral spherical bearings for reduction of wear, is very important in this connection. Vitesse users particularly appreciate the quick-lubrication system of the loading wings. Here, all lubricating nipples of the loading wing and control bearings can be lubricated from one loading wing position within 2 3 minutes, thus saving 90 % of the required time compared to competitor machines. 8 Super-Vitesse Super-Vitesse 37 knives The classic of grass silage harvest Easy towing and prevention of the fodder from damage, these are the features that ought to characterise a forage wagon. The Super-Vitesse has been proving to have these characteristics for more than 25 years. The robust feeder rotor with conveyor fins in offset arrangement, divided into three parts and arranged in four rows, was the state of the art in the forage wagon field in the 1990s. Due to its easy towing, the system is still very popular, because where else can a rotor wagon be used with 66 kw / 90 HP. Performing well in grass silage harvesting for more than 25 years: the Super-Vitesse.

Press report Super-Vitesse Press report Super-Vitesse "Indestructible rotor" The complete article was published in the "profi" magazine, issue 08/2003, www.profi.de "(...) The "Super-Vitesse" silage wagons are a long runner in the Strautmann programme. Fifteen years ago, this successful series was launched. And during our search, we found silage wagons of the "Super-Vitesse" series which were over ten years old and still in use. (...) The most vital wearing items on a forage wagon including the "Super-Vitesse" are the pick-up, the conveying assembly with cutting unit and, of course, the powertrain. Until a few years ago, the "Super-Vitesse" standard model was equipped with a pick-up of 1.60 m of width with five tine rows which was enough to ensure clean picking-up. Due to the fact that the swathers are getting wider and more and more powerful, Stautmann has been offering the "Super Vitesse" standard model with a pick-up of 1.80 m of width since 2000. (...)"

"High efficiency and low maintenance" The complete article was published in the "profi" magazine, issue 07/1990, www.profi.de "(...) [The conveyor drum] proves to be indeed very efficient even in case of a large quantity of swathe. The "Super-Vitesse" is equipped with 25 knives mounted at one level. 13 knives are fitted on a fixed knife row. The silage cutting unit is equipped with another 12 knives and can be folded away by means of a lever if the grass is not intended to be cut so short. The theoretical cutting length when working with 25 knives is 55 mm. If a jam occurs in the conveyor duct, the entire cutting unit can be hydraulically folded backwards, such that the duct can run free. Furthermore, all knives are individually protected against foreign objects. (...)"

CFS CFS The system of the future Strautmann forage wagons surprise by their easy towing, which is confirmed by owners who previously worked with other brands. "CFS" still increases this advantage as our experience of recent years has shown. Forage wagon drivers are relieved by CFS due to the fact that unequal swathes no longer have to be the sole focus of attention. It is the continuous material flow, "Continuous Flow", which makes the difference.

1. Low power required The newly developed pick-up and the "CFS drum" disperse the swathe (spreading-out effect) and feed it over its total width to the rotor and the cutting unit, thus saving energy and reducing the power required by about 10% as well as the diesel consumption. 2. Optimum filling degree The material is loaded into the cargo space over its total width thus improving the filling degree. We measured 10% more weight per cubic metre several times. The tonnage is important, not the volume of the cargo space. 3. High acreage performance A better filling degree also involves a higher acreage performance. The areas to be harvested can be cleared more quickly and the fodder is taken faster into the silo. After all, time is money. 4.Optimum adaptation to soil Due to the design of the "CFS drum", the pick-up is in a very flat position, such that the pressure exerted on the roller feelers is very low which enables the pick-up to better adapt to the soil structure. Furthermore, the green fodder is continuously and gently picked up due to the V-shaped helical arrangement of the pick-up tines. 5. Protection of drives Due to the homogeneous and continuous flow of material, the CFS conveying unit runs very smoothly, such that there are hardly any peak loads. And if there are no peak loads, the complete drive unit will be exempted from "suffering" thus ensuring a long service life of the conveying unit and therefore of the entire forage wagon. 6. Longer service life of knives Grinding of knives: Only if it s worth doing! The spreading-out effect ensures a more even load of the knives. "CFS" allows considerably longer grinding intervals. Grinding all knives is worth doing if all knives are blunt. Grinding all knives if only the central knives were blunt?... grinding only the central ones?... interchanging the exterior and interior ones?

Super-Vitesse CFS Super-Vitesse CFS 36 knives theoretical cutting length of 39 mm Systematical and energy-saving charging Like its larger "sister" models, the Super-Vitesse CFS is also offered with the unique CFS conveying unit, such that even agricultural enterprises that focus on in-house mechanization are able to benefit from the advantages of this almost unrivaled product. This system is setting standards with regard to optimum charging, low power requirement and maximum cost effectiveness which not only farmers, but also contractors can benefit from. The Super-Vitesse CFS excels by its excellent cutting image. The conveying assembly with the double-cut cutting unit equipped with 36 knives offers the best prerequisites for optimum fodder quality. Due to its performance, the Super-Vitesse CFS represents a most interesting solution for grass silage harvesting for professional dairy farms, machinery cooperatives and even contractors. Even for agricultural enterprises that focus on in-house mechanization the advantages of the Super-Vitesse CFS are nothing but benefit. Given the increased energy costs, this forage wagon is able to gain the significant benefit compared to other harvesting methods.

Mega-Vitesse CFS Mega-Vitesse CFS 40 knives theoretical cutting length of 39 mm The specialist in its field The Mega-Vitesse CFS is a pure forage wagon with dosing unit in classical design with 4-strand transport floor and represents a completely new forage wagon series. Here, the technical innovations of the larger Giga-Vitesse CFS series are also included: Both the powertrain with gear drive of the rotor and the available axle assemblies are original features of the larger sister. The Mega-Vitesse CFS is a pure forage wagon with dosing unit in classical design with 4-strand transport floor with round steel chains and with a wooden transport floor. Besides its throughput rate, the Mega-Vitesse CFS scores with its compact design, such that it can show its strength even on small surfaces or in confined enterprises. The wide range of different chassis and steering systems make the Mega-Vitesse CFS also the right forage wagon for any conditions. The double-cut cutting unit is equipped with 40 knives, thus achieving a theoretical cutting length of 39 mm; the ideal machine for producing short-cut silage. The Mega-Vitesse CFS is available both as a pure forage wagon (28 to 36 m³ according to DIN 11741) and as a forage wagon with dosing unit (26 to 34 m³ according to DIN 11741) with two or three dosing drums. Due to its solid body, equipped with brackets and ropes above the cargo space, this forage wagon ensures effective load-securing which excludes the loss of charged material.

Giga-Vitesse CFS Giga-Vitesse CFS 45 knives theoretical cutting length of 35 mm Strikingly versatile The dual-purpose forage wagon Giga-Vitesse CFS represented the top model of the Strautmann forage wagon series for a long time. This forage wagon model sets standards with regard to power, reliability and efficiency. The Giga-Vitesse has been available with CFS since 2010. Three different sizes (from 32 m³ to 42 m³ of filling volume according to DIN) including a comprehensive equipment package offer an individual solution for any application. The wagons of the Giga-Vitesse CFS series are equipped with 45 knives. The theoretical cutting length of 35 mm resulting therefrom always guarantees optimum fodder quality - from the animal nutrition physiological point of view. However, a powerful forage wagon not only excels by its high charging performance but also by quick and effective discharge at or on the silo. Apart from the innovative conveying unit, the quick and exact discharge of the dosing unit has also been emphasized as a positive feature in several independent tests. The Giga-Vitesse CFS is getting even more interesting when possible additional hours of maize harvest extend the period of use of the forage wagon, thus contributing to the vehicle s efficiency. As a dualpurpose forage wagon, the Giga-Vitesse CFS can be easily converted into a forage transport wagon by means of a maize plate.

Erfahrungsberichte Giga-Vitesse CFS Field reports Giga-Vitesse CFS This is what the practical workers say: Switzerland Heinz Gautschi, Herbetswil, Giga-Vitesse CFS 4001 in use since 2011 "Not only during the last cuttings, where there is little growth, but already during the first cutting, the CFS unit is a real vacuum cleaner. The quick pick-up really hoovers the grass from the ground." Australian Paul Zuidema, Leongatha Giga-Vitesse CFS 4001 in use since 2010 "It is a real high-performance forage wagon which I can easily run at a speed of 17 km/h in the plain countryside. For me, there is no forage wagon comparable to the Strautmann model."

Germany Landwirt Erich Weiss, Marktoberdorf, Giga-Vitesse CFS 4401 in use since 2011 "Blockages between pick-up and rotor are a thing of the past since we have been using our Giga-Vitesse CFS 4401. The harmonized interaction of the uncontrolled pickup with its helically arranged tines and the CFS drum ensures charging without any trouble or problems for the driver." Netherlands LU Stuut, Zevenhuizen, Giga-Vitesse CFS 4001 in use since 2011 "Forage wagons with this top performance still remain an interesting and cheap option not only for contractors, but also for the farmer." Ireland Beckett Agri, Mayfield Services Ltd, Kilconnell, Ballinasloe-Galway, 3x Giga-Vitesse CFS 3601 in use since 2011 "When we tested the forage wagon, we were completely convinced. The material is really distributed over the rotor width and conveyed to the cutting unit without piling up", Beckett is pleased.

Strautmann intends to considerably improve the charging performance of the silage wagons by means of the new helical tine arrangement on the pick-up and the additional accelerator drum between pick-up and cutting rotor. Mainly under difficult conditions with narrow, high swathes, the CFS (Continuous Flow System) surely has the largest effect. At the same time, the conveyor duct could be shortened due to the modified rotor position, thus reducing the power required. And the cutting unit has been redesigned as well in order to achieve better cutting quality even with high charging performance. (...)"

Turbocharger The complete article was published in the agricultural magazine dlz, issue 10/2010, www.dlz-agrarmagazin.de (...) The Giga Vitesse with its new CFS conveying unit is a machine for professional use. It offers good efficiency and easy operation via its own terminal. Due to the CFS system, the swathe is well dispersed over the entire width and the cutting rotor is used at its optimum. The forage is evenly cut. (...) "Optimum intake capacity" The complete article was published in the "Agrar-Technik" magazine, issue 04/2011, www.agrartechnikonline.de "(...) The Strautmann Giga-Vitesse CFS 4001 is a forage wagon for professional use. The conveying unit with accelerator drum cleanly picks up the material and equally feeds the rotor with material. The intake capacity of the Giga-Vitesse is impressive. (...)"

Tera-Vitesse CFS Tera-Vitesse CFS 50 knives theoretical cutting length of 35 mm A class of its own The latest and most efficient forage wagon series is the Strautmann Tera-Vitesse CFS. Available in different sizes from 38 m³ to 50 m³ of filling capacity (according to DIN), this is the top model offering top volume and top performance due to the unique conveying unit which meanwhile, in this series, is equipped not only with a pick-up of now 2.12 m of width, but also with a cutting unit consisting of 50 knives for an exact cut of 35 mm. The heart of the Tera-Vitesse CFS : the large-sized rotor and the cutting unit with 50 knives ensure highest performance under any conditions Based on its trendsetting charging performance in combination with some innovative features, the Tera-Vitesse CFS defines its own forage wagon class. The largesized rotor as the heart of the conveying unit ensures highest efficiency under any conditions. The high power not only scores on the field, but also on the road where large loads are transported with utmost safety. The hydropneumatic chassis for a total weight of 24,000 kg is already a standard feature on the 4601 model, just like the tridem chassis of the largest model Tera-Vitesse CFS 5201. This series offers the customer a forage transport wagon which is adequate in every respect. Here, the pick-up and the CFS drum can be easily removed to make the machine ready for long-term use in maize. Many reasons to convince yourself of the efficiency of this Tera-Vitesse CFS model!
