6 STANDARD PUMPS 2. Centrifugal pumps DESCRIPTION AND APPLICATION The R line of self-priming pumps is comprised of horizontal centrifugal pumps specially built for conveying polluted, air- or gas-laden liquids and low-viscosity media. It is sufficient to fill the pump body once before startup. Due to its special design, after the pump has been stopped there is still enough conveyed medium in the pump body to guarantee suction if it is started back up. At the same time, this prevents the pump from dry running. This innovative technology does not require any sort of auxiliary suction support, such as check valves or evacuation pumps. Maintenance is considerably reduced, handling is simplified, and reliability is increased to a maximum. A wide array of designs and drive variants provides design solutions for every application and enhances mobility, when desired. Versions can be made from a large number of materials, such as grey cast iron, spheroidal graphite iron, bronze, aluminium and stainless steel. This diversity makes the R series of pumps ideal for use in industry (general, chemical, petrochemical), inland and ocean shipping, building construction, excavation and mining, as well as in agriculture and home technology. to 80 m water column coverage, and maximum suction lift up to 8.5 m. 12 STANDARD PUMPS 3. Screw rotor pump DESCRIPTION AND APPLICATION Rusch screw rotor pumps are self-priming displacement pumps for conveying lubricating and non-lubricating media. Pumps in the RSP and RSPK model series are recognizable by their bilateral suction ports, which, in connection to two sliders, allow individual suction operation from two different suction lines. The pumps are designed with two spindles and dual flow, and are therefore thrust balanced. Precise play between the screw rotors and the housing means that only the medium subjects the pump to wear. The shafts, bearings and gears are oversized to guarantee vibration-free operation at all times, and to allow trouble-free torque transfer from the drive shaft to the secondary shafts. This design ensures that, due to elevated back pressure, even shaft deflections do not affect the spindle. Output and flow rate depend on the pressure level and viscosity of the medium transferred. 16 STANDARD PUMPS 4. Bulkhead partition duct Our water- and gas-tight bulkhead partition ducts are used for explosionprotected pump propulsion and therefore provide a high-degree of safety. The bulkhead partition ducts are filled with oil inside and thus prevent entry of explosive gases that could ignite during propulsion. To increase this protection further, we recommend using ducts with an additional oil storage tank, which will ensure easy monitoring and permanent filling of the duct chamber. Additionally, our bulkhead partition ducts can be equipped with bilateral temperature sensors for electronic monitoring of the ball bearings against overheating.
