FEATURES AND BENEFITS Y-Pattern Globe and Check Valves MINIMAL PRESSURE DROP A full port design is not commonly associated with globe and check valves. A full port design in combination with a Y-Pattern configuration, like that of the SMITH Bolted Bonnet Y-Pattern, uniquely results in an extraordinarily low pressure drop for SMITH Y-Pattern valves. See Cv rating on speci cation data sheet. LOW FUGITIVE EMISSIONS Most globe valves on the market today are rotating stem designs. It is nearly impossible to maintain low fugitive emission when the stem is rotating because as it rotates through the packing chamber, the packing simply wants to twist out of the stuffing box. The SMITH Y-Pattern Globe Valve is specifically designed to minimize fugitive emissions. Ask SMITH for fugitive emission data relating to the Bolted Bonnet Y-Pattern Valve. POSITION INDICATOR With most globe valves it is difficult to ascertain if the valve is open or closed by simply looking at the valve. The SMITH Y-Pattern Valve has a visual indicator integral with the stem that provides, at a glance, the location of the disc within the valve body. The position indicator feature eliminates guess work and helps the operator precisely return the disc to the desired position after use. DISC/BODY SEATING The disc in the Y-Pattern design is fully body-guided throughout the stroke of the valve. The disc is securely attached to the stem and can be manufactured in a rotating, non-rotating, or stop check configuration. The SMITH Bolted Bonnet Y-Pattern Valve body seat is integral and hard-faced Stellite 6, promoting a long life. BELLOW SEAL Most globe valves on the market today are rotating stems. When a user needs a bellow seal globe, the quality choices available are very limited. The SMITH Bolted Bonnet Y-Pattern Globe was designed from the onset, to be a bellow seal product. SMITH bellow seal design and testing in ormation is available pon re est. 4 SMITH VALVE The Newdell Co The Problem Solver
