(empty weight), it must be titled as well. All trailer caches (e.g., pp-up camper, travel trailer, fifth wheel camper, etc.) are titled and registered regardless f weight. If yu purchased a used titled trailer, bring the assigned title t a Secretary f State ffice t have the title transferred int yur name. A new trailer plate may be purchased at that time. If yu purchased a new r used trailer weighing less than 2,500 lbs., bring ne f the fllwing t a Secretary f State branch ffice t register it: a) Fr a new trailer, the Manufacturer's Certificate f Origin r the retailer's bill f sale. b) Fr a used trailer, a bill f sale frm the seller. Trailer plates are permanent (nn-expiring) and remain valid until wnership transfers. Trailer and Trailer Cach plate fees are: Empty Weight Plate Fee 0-2,499 lbs. $75 2,500-9,999 lbs. $200 10,000 lbs. and ver $300 257.73 Trailer defined.

Sec. 73. "Trailer" means every vehicle with r withut mtive pwer, ther than a ple-trailer, designed fr carrying prperty r persns and fr being drawn by a mtr vehicle and s cnstructed that n part f its weight rests upn the twing vehicle. (3) A vehicle r trailer twed r drawn by a vehicle shall be attached t the vehicle with frms f cupling devices in a manner s that when the cmbinatin is perated in a linear alignment n a level, smth, paved surface, the mvement f the twed r drawn vehicle r trailer des nt deviate mre than 3 inches t either side f the path f the twing vehicle that tws r draws it. The vehicle r trailer shall als be cnnected t the twing vehicle by suitable safety chains r devices, 1 n each side f the cupling and at the extreme uter edge f the vehicle r trailer. Each chain r device and cnnectin used shall be f sufficient strength t haul the vehicle r trailer when laded. In the case f an implement f husbandry with a grss vehicle weight rating r grss cmbinatin weight rating f 10,000 punds r less, the safety chains r devices required under this subsectin shall cnfrm t the federal mtr carrier safety regulatins requirements cntained in 49 CFR 393.70(d)(5). (4) A pickup truck with a fifth wheel assembly shall nt tw a semitrailer unless the fifth wheel assembly cnfrms t the standards prescribed in the mtr carrier safety act f 1963, 1963 PA 181, MCL 480.11 t 480.25. (5) Ntwithstanding subsectin (1), a pickup truck with a twing rating equal t, r greater than, the weight being twed, equipped with a fifth wheel assembly that cnfrms with the standards prescribed in the mtr carrier safety act f 1963, 1963 PA 181, MCL 480.11 t 480.25, twing attached with a semitrailer designed fr recreatinal living purpses may tw an additinal trailer r semitrailer under the fllwing cnditins: (a) The additinal trailer r semitrailer shall be attached as prvided in subsectin (3). The safety chains described in subsectin (3) shall be securely attached at the extreme uter edge f the attached trailer r semitrailer with a lcking mechanism. The twing vehicle hitch shall be f substantial material and shall be attached in a prper and skillful manner t the frame f the twing vehicle.

(b) The ttal length f the pickup truck, semitrailer designed fr recreatinal living purpses, and additinal trailer r semitrailer, and lad, shall nt exceed 75 feet n any highways in this state. (c) The grss weight f the additinal trailer r semitrailer twed r drawn shall nt exceed the empty weight f the pickup truck r the empty weight f the semitrailer. (6) Fr the purpses f this sectin, a pickup truck twing a semitrailer and additinal trailer shall be cnsidered a passenger vehicle and shall cmply with the speed limit requirements f sectin 627(5). (7) A persn wh vilates this sectin is respnsible fr a civil infractin. 257.717 Maximum permissible width f vehicle r lad; extensin beynd center line f highway; permit; designatin f highway fr peratin f vehicle r vehicle cmbinatin; special permit; bat lift r trailer; vilatin as civil infractin; charging wner. Sec. 717. (1) The ttal utside width f a vehicle r the lad n a vehicle shall nt exceed 96 inches, except as therwise prvided in this sectin. (2) A persn may perate r mve an implement f husbandry f any width n a highway as required, designed, and intended fr farming peratins, including the mvement f implements f husbandry being driven r twed and nt hauled n a trailer, withut btaining a special permit fr an excessively wide vehicle r lad under sectin 725. The peratin r mvement f the implement f husbandry shall be in a manner s as t minimize the interruptin f traffic flw. A persn shall nt perate r mve an implement f husbandry t the left f the center f the radway frm a half hur after sunset t a half hur befre sunrise, under the cnditins specified in sectin 639, r at any time visibility is substantially diminished due t weather cnditins. A persn perating r mving an implement f husbandry shall fllw all traffic regulatins. (3) The ttal utside width f the lad f a vehicle hauling cncrete pipe, ferrus pipe, agricultural prducts, r unprcessed lgs, pulpwd, r wd blts shall nt exceed 108 inches. (4) Except as prvided in subsectins (2) and (5) and this subsectin, if a vehicle that is equipped with pneumatic tires is perated n a highway, the maximum width frm the utside f 1 wheel and tire t the utside f the ppsite wheel and tire shall nt exceed 102 inches, and the utside width f the bdy f the vehicle r the lad n the vehicle shall nt exceed 96 inches. Hwever, a truck and trailer r a tractr and semitrailer cmbinatin hauling pulpwd r unprcessed lgs may be perated with a maximum width f nt t exceed 108 inches in accrdance with a special permit issued under sectin 725. (5) The ttal utside bdy width f a bus, a trailer cach, a trailer, a semitrailer, a truck camper, r a mtr hme shall nt exceed 102 inches. Hwever, an appurtenance f a trailer cach, a truck camper, r a mtr hme that extends nt mre than 6 inches beynd the ttal utside bdy width is nt a vilatin f this sectin.

(6) A vehicle shall nt extend beynd the center line f a state trunk line highway except when authrized by law. Except as prvided in subsectin (2), if the width f the vehicle makes it impssible t stay away frm the center line, a permit shall be btained under sectin 725. (7) The directr f the state transprtatin department, a cunty rad cmmissin, r a lcal authrity may designate a highway under the agency's jurisdictin as a highway n which a persn may perate a vehicle r vehicle cmbinatin that is nt mre than 102 inches in width, including lad, the peratin f which wuld therwise be prhibited by this sectin. The agency making the designatin may require that the wner r lessee f the vehicle r f each vehicle in the vehicle cmbinatin secure a permit befre perating the vehicle r vehicle cmbinatin. This subsectin des nt restrict the issuance f a special permit under sectin 725 fr the peratin f a vehicle r vehicle cmbinatin. This subsectin des nt permit the peratin f a vehicle r vehicle cmbinatin described in sectin 722a carrying a lad described in that sectin if the peratin wuld therwise result in a vilatin f that sectin. (8) The directr f the state transprtatin department, a cunty rad cmmissin, r a lcal authrity may issue a special permit under sectin 725 t a persn perating a vehicle r vehicle cmbinatin if all f the fllwing are met: (a) The vehicle r vehicle cmbinatin, including lad, is nt mre than 106 inches in width. (b) The vehicle r vehicle cmbinatin is used slely t mve new mtr vehicles r parts r cmpnents f new mtr vehicles between facilities that meet all f the fllwing: (i) New mtr vehicles r parts r cmpnents f new mtr vehicles are manufactured r assembled in the facilities. (ii) The facilities are lcated within 10 miles f each ther. (iii) The facilities are lcated within the city limits f the same city and the city is lcated in a cunty that has a ppulatin f mre than 400,000 and less than 500,000 accrding t the mst recent federal decennial census. (c) The special permit and any renewals are each issued fr a term f 1 year r less. (9) A persn may mve r perate a bat lift f any width r an versized hydraulic bat trailer wned and perated by a marina r watercraft dealer in a cmmercial bat strage peratin n a highway under a multiple trip permit issued n an annual basis as specified under sectin 725. The peratin r mvement f the bat lift r trailer shall minimize the interruptin f traffic flw. It shall be used exclusively t transprt a bat between a place f strage and a marina r in and arund a marina. A bat lift r versized hydraulic bat trailer may be perated, drawn, r twed n a street r highway nly when transprting a vessel between a bdy f water and a place f strage r when traveling empty t r frm transprting a vessel. A bat lift shall nt be perated n limited access highways. A persn mving r perating a bat lift r versized hydraulic bat trailer shall fllw all traffic regulatins and shall ensure the rute selected has adequate pwer and utility wire height clearance. (10) A persn wh vilates this sectin is respnsible fr a civil infractin. The wner f the vehicle may be charged with a vilatin f this sectin.

257.719 Height f vehicle; liability fr damage t bridge r viaduct; nrmal length maximum; prhibitins; cnnecting assemblies and lighting devices; grss weight; vilatin as civil infractin; applicability f subsectins (2)(a) and (3)(b); definitins. Sec. 719. (1) A vehicle unladed r with lad shall nt exceed a height f 13 feet 6 inches. The wner f a vehicle that cllides with a lawfully established bridge r viaduct is liable fr all damage and injury resulting frm a cllisin caused by the height f the vehicle, whether the clearance f the bridge r viaduct is psted r nt. (2) Lengths described in this subsectin shall be knwn as the nrmal length maximum. Except as prvided in subsectin (3), the fllwing vehicles and cmbinatins f vehicles shall nt be perated n a highway in this state in excess f these lengths: (a) Subject t subsectin (8), any single vehicle: 40 feet; a crib vehicle n which lgs are laded lengthwise f the vehicle: 42.5 feet; any single bus r mtr hme: 45 feet. (b) Articulated buses: 65 feet. (c) Ntwithstanding any ther prvisin f this sectin, a cmbinatin f a truck and semitrailer r trailer, r a truck tractr, semitrailer, and trailer, r truck tractr and semitrailer r trailer, designed and used exclusively t transprt assembled mtr vehicles r bdies, recreatinal vehicles, r bats: 65 feet. A cmbinatin f a truck and semitrailer r trailer, r a truck tractr, semitrailer, and trailer, r a truck tractr and semitrailer r trailer designed and used t transprt bats frm the manufacturer, r a stinger-steered cmbinatin: 75 feet. The lad n the cmbinatins f vehicles described in this subdivisin may extend an additinal 3 feet beynd the frnt and 4 feet beynd the rear f the cmbinatins f vehicles. Retractable extensins used t supprt and secure the lad that d nt extend beynd the allwable verhang fr the frnt and rear shall nt be included in determining length f a laded vehicle r vehicle cmbinatin. (d) Truck tractr and semitrailer cmbinatins: n verall length, the semitrailer: 50 feet. (e) Truck and semitrailer r trailer: 59 feet. (f) Except as prvided in subdivisin (g), truck tractr, semitrailer, and trailer, r truck tractr and 2 semitrailers: 59 feet. (g) A truck tractr, semitrailer, and trailer, r a truck tractr and 2 semitrailers, in which n semitrailer r trailer is mre than 28-1/2 feet lng: 65 feet. This subdivisin nly applies while the vehicle is being used fr a business purpse reasnably related t picking up r delivering a lad and nly if each semitrailer r trailer is equipped with a device r system capable f mechanically dumping cnstructin materials r dumping cnstructin materials by frce f gravity. (h) Mre than 1 mtr vehicle, whlly r partially assembled, in cmbinatin, utilizing 1 tw bar r 3 saddle munts with full munt mechanisms and utilizing the mtive pwer f 1 f the vehicles in cmbinatin: 55 feet.

(i) A recreatinal vehicle that has its wn mtive pwer, in cmbinatin with a trailer: 65 feet r, if the peratr f the recreatinal vehicle has a grup cmmercial mtr vehicle designatin n his r her peratr's r chauffeur's license, 75 feet. (3) Ntwithstanding subsectin (2), the fllwing vehicles and cmbinatins f vehicles shall nt be perated n a designated highway f this state in excess f these lengths: (a) Truck tractr and semitrailer cmbinatins: n verall length limit, the semitrailer 53 feet. All semitrailers lnger than 50 feet shall have a wheelbase f 37.5 t 40.5 feet plus r minus 0.5 feet, measured frm the kingpin cupling t the center f the rear axle r the center f the rear axle assembly. City, village, r cunty authrities may prhibit stps f vehicles with a semitrailer lnger than 50 feet within their jurisdictin unless the stp ccurs alng apprpriately designated rutes, r is necessary fr emergency purpses r t reach shippers, receivers, warehuses, and terminals alng designated rutes. (b) Truck and semitrailer r trailer cmbinatins: 65 feet, except that a persn may perate a truck and semitrailer r trailer designed and used t transprt saw lgs, pulpwd, and tree length ples that des nt exceed an verall length f 70 feet r a crib vehicle and semitrailer r trailer designed and used t transprt saw lgs that des nt exceed an verall length f 75 feet. A crib vehicle and semitrailer r trailer designed t and used t transprt saw lgs shall nt exceed a grss vehicle weight f 164,000 punds. A persn may perate a truck tractr and semitrailer designed and used t transprt saw lgs, pulpwd, and tree length wden ples with a lad verhang t the rear f the semitrailer which des nt exceed 6 feet if the semitrailer des nt exceed 50 feet in length. (c) Ntwithstanding subsectin (4)(d), a truck tractr with a lg slasher unit and a lg saw unit: n verall limit if the length f each unit des nt exceed 28-1/2 feet, r the verall length f the lg slasher unit and the lg saw unit, as measured frm the frnt f the first twed unit t the rear f the secnd twed unit while the units are cupled tgether, des nt exceed 58 feet. The cupling devices f the truck tractr and units set frth in this subdivisin shall meet the requirements established under the mtr carrier safety act f 1963, 1963 PA 181, MCL 480.11 t 480.25. (d) Truck tractr and 2 semitrailers, r truck tractr, semitrailer, and trailer cmbinatins: n verall length limit, if the length f each semitrailer r trailer des nt exceed 28-1/2 feet each, r the verall length f the semitrailer and trailer, r 2 semitrailers as measured frm the frnt f the first twed unit t the rear f the secnd twed unit while the units are cupled tgether des nt exceed 58 feet. (e) Mre than 1 mtr vehicle, whlly r partially assembled, in cmbinatin, utilizing 1 tw bar r 3 saddle munts with full munt mechanisms and utilizing the mtive pwer f 1 f the vehicles in cmbinatin: 75 feet. (f) Truck tractr and lwby semitrailer cmbinatins: n maximum verall length, if the lwby semitrailer des nt exceed 59 feet, except as therwise permitted under this subdivisin. A lwby semitrailer wheelbase shall nt exceed 55 feet as measured frm the kingpin cupling t the center f the rear axle. A lwby semitrailer mre than 59 feet in length shall nt perate with mre than any cmbinatin f 4 axles n the lwby unless an versized lad permit is issued by the state transprtatin department r a lcal authrity with respect t highways under its jurisdictin. As used in

this subdivisin, "lwby semitrailer" means a flatbed semitrailer with a depressed sectin that has the specific purpse f being lwered and raised fr lading and unlading. (4) The fllwing cmbinatins and mvements are prhibited: (a) A truck shall nt haul mre than 1 trailer r semitrailer, and a truck tractr shall nt haul mre than 2 semitrailers r 1 semitrailer and 1 trailer in cmbinatin at any 1 time, except that a farm tractr may haul 2 wagns r trailers, r garbage and refuse haulers may, during daylight hurs, haul up t 4 trailers fr garbage and refuse cllectin purpses, nt exceeding in any cmbinatin a ttal length f 55 feet and at a speed limit nt t exceed 15 miles per hur. (d) Except as prvided in subsectin (3)(c), a cmbinatin f 2 semitrailers pulled by a truck tractr, unless each semitrailer uses a fifth wheel cnnecting assembly that cnfrms t the requirements f the mtr carrier safety act f 1963, 1963 PA 181, MCL 480.11 t 480.25. (e) A vehicle r a cmbinatin f vehicles shall nt carry a lad extending mre than 3 feet beynd the frnt f the lead vehicle. (f) A vehicle described in subsectins (2)(e) and (3)(e) emplying triple saddle munts unless all wheels that are in cntact with the radway have perating brakes. (5) All cmbinatins f vehicles under this sectin shall emply cnnecting assemblies and lighting devices that are in cmpliance with the mtr carrier safety act f 1963, 1963 PA 181, MCL 480.11 t 480.25. (6) The ttal grss weight f a truck tractr, semitrailer, and trailer cmbinatin r a truck tractr and 2 semitrailers cmbinatin that exceeds 59 feet in length shall nt exceed a rati f 400 punds per engine net hrsepwer delivered t clutch r its equivalent specified in the handbk published by the sciety f autmtive engineers, inc. (SAE), 1977 editin. (7) A persn wh vilates this sectin is respnsible fr a civil infractin. The wner f the vehicle may be charged with a vilatin f this sectin. (8) The prvisins in subsectins (2)(a) and (3)(b) prescribing the length f a crib vehicle n which lgs are laded lengthwise d nt apply unless 23 USC 127(d) is amended t allw crib vehicles carrying lgs t be laded as described in this sectin. (9) As used in this sectin: (a) "Designated highway" means a highway apprved by the state transprtatin department r a lcal authrity with respect t a highway under its jurisdictin. (b) "Length" means the ttal length f a vehicle, r cmbinatin f vehicles, including any lad the vehicle is carrying. Semitrailers and trailers shall be measured frm the frnt vertical plane f the fremst transverse lad supprting structure t the rearmst transverse lad supprting structure. Vehicle cmpnents nt excluded by law shall be included in the measurement f the length, height, and width f the vehicle. (c) "Stinger-steered cmbinatins" means a truck tractr and semitrailer cmbinatin in which the fifth wheel is lcated n a drp frame lcated behind and belw the rearmst axle f the pwer unit. 257.721 Passenger vehicle r pickup truck twing vehicle r trailer; drawbar r ther cnnectin; cupling devices and safety chains; pickup truck with fifth wheel assembly; cnditins fr twing additinal trailer r semitrailer; speed limit requirements; vilatin as civil infractin. Sec. 721. (1) Except as therwise prvided in subsectin (5), a passenger vehicle r a pickup truck shall nt be driven upn a highway drawing r having attached t the passenger vehicle r pickup truck mre than 1 vehicle r trailer. (2) The drawbar r ther cnnectin between 2 vehicles, 1 f which is twing r drawing the ther n a highway, shall nt exceed 15 feet in length frm 1 vehicle t the ther. If the cnnectin cnsists f a chain, rpe, r cable, there shall be displayed upn the cnnectin a red flag r ther signal r clth nt less than 12 inches bth in length and width. (3) A vehicle r trailer twed r drawn by a vehicle shall be attached t the vehicle with frms f cupling devices in a manner s that when the cmbinatin is perated in a linear alignment n a level, smth, paved surface, the mvement f the twed r drawn vehicle r trailer des nt deviate mre than 3 inches t either side f the path f the twing vehicle that tws r draws it. The vehicle r trailer shall als be cnnected t the twing vehicle by suitable safety chains r devices, 1 n each side f the cupling and at the extreme uter edge f the vehicle r trailer. Each chain r device and cnnectin used shall be f sufficient strength t haul the vehicle r trailer when laded. In the case f an implement f husbandry with a grss vehicle weight rating r grss cmbinatin weight rating f 10,000 punds r less, the safety chains r devices required under this subsectin shall cnfrm t the federal mtr carrier safety regulatins requirements cntained in 49 CFR 393.70(d)(5). (4) A pickup truck with a fifth wheel assembly shall nt tw a semitrailer unless the fifth wheel assembly cnfrms t the standards prescribed in the mtr carrier safety act f 1963, 1963 PA 181, MCL 480.11 t 480.25. (5) Ntwithstanding subsectin (1), a pickup truck with a twing rating equal t, r greater than, the weight being twed, equipped with a fifth wheel assembly that cnfrms with the standards prescribed in the mtr carrier safety act f 1963, 1963 PA 181, MCL 480.11 t 480.25, twing attached with a semitrailer designed fr recreatinal living purpses may tw an additinal trailer r semitrailer under the fllwing cnditins: (a) The additinal trailer r semitrailer shall be attached as prvided in subsectin (3). The safety chains described in subsectin (3) shall be securely attached at the extreme uter edge f the attached trailer

r semitrailer with a lcking mechanism. The twing vehicle hitch shall be f substantial material and shall be attached in a prper and skillful manner t the frame f the twing vehicle. (b) The ttal length f the pickup truck, semitrailer designed fr recreatinal living purpses, and additinal trailer r semitrailer, and lad, shall nt exceed 75 feet n any highways in this state. (c) The grss weight f the additinal trailer r semitrailer twed r drawn shall nt exceed the empty weight f the pickup truck r the empty weight f the semitrailer. (6) Fr the purpses f this sectin, a pickup truck twing a semitrailer and additinal trailer shall be cnsidered a passenger vehicle and shall cmply with the speed limit requirements f sectin 627(5). (7) A persn wh vilates this sectin is respnsible fr a civil infractin. 257.687. Special lamps fr passenger buses, trucks and trailers. Sec. 687. The sectins f this chapter immediately fllwing relating t clearance and marker lamps, reflectrs and stp lights shall apply as stated in said sectins t vehicles f the type therein enumerated, namely: Passenger busses, trucks, truck tractrs, and certain trailers, semi-trailers, and ple-trailers, respectively, when perated upn any highway, and said vehicles shall be equipped as required and all lamp equipment required shall be lighted at the times mentined in sectin 684 f this chapter except that clearance and side marker lamps need nt be lighted n any said vehicle when perated within any municipality where there is sufficient light t render clearly discernible persns and vehicles n the highway at a distance f 500 feet. 257.709. Windshields and windws; prhibitins; rearview mirrrs; exceptins; windshield wipers; exemptin; ht air windshield defrster r electrically heated windshield r ther device; windshield device; definitins. Sec. 709. (1) A persn shall nt perate a mtr vehicle with any f the fllwing: (a) A sign, pster, nntransparent material, windw applicatin, reflective film, r nnreflective film upn r in the frnt windshield, the side windws immediately adjacent t the driver r frnt passenger, r the sidewings adjacent t and frward f the driver r frnt passenger, except that a tinted film may be used alng the tp edge f the windshield and the side windws r sidewings immediately adjacent t the driver r frnt passenger if the material des nt extend mre than 4 inches frm the tp f the windshield, r lwer than the shade band, whichever is clser t the tp f the windshield. (b) A rear windw r side windw t the rear f the driver cmpsed f, cvered by, r treated with a material that creates a ttal slar reflectance f 35% r mre in the visible light range, including a silver r gld reflective film. (c) An bject that bstructs the visin f the driver f the vehicle, except as authrized by law.

(2) A persn shall nt drive a mtr vehicle if driver visibility thrugh the rear windw is bstructed, unless the vehicle is equipped with 2 rearview mirrrs, 1 n each side, adjusted s that the peratr has a clear view f the highway behind the vehicle. (3) This sectin des nt apply t any f the fllwing: (a) The use f draperies, luvers, r ther special windw treatments, except thse specifically designated in this sectin, n the rear windw, r a side windw t the rear f the driver if the vehicle is equipped with 2 utside rearview mirrrs, 1 n each side, adjusted s that the driver has a clear view f the highway behind the vehicle. (b) The use f a nnreflective, smked r tinted glass, nnreflective film, perfrated windw screen, r ther decrative windw applicatin n the rear windw r a side windw t the rear f the driver. (c) The placement f a necessary certificate r sticker that des nt bstruct the driver s clear view f the radway r an intersecting radway. (d) A vehicle registered in anther state, territry, cmmnwealth f the United States, r anther cuntry r prvince. (e) A special windw treatment r applicatin determined necessary by a physician r ptmetrist, fr the prtectin f a persn wh is light sensitive r phtsensitive, if the wner r peratr f a mtr vehicle has in pssessin a letter signed by a physician r ptmetrist, indicating that the special windw treatment r applicatin is a medical necessity. Hwever, the special windw treatment r applicatin shall nt interfere with r bstruct the driver s clear visin f the highway r an intersecting highway. (4) Except as prvided in subsectin (5), the windshield n each mtr vehicle shall be equipped with a device fr cleaning rain, snw, r ther misture frm the windshield, which device shall be s cnstructed as t be cntrlled r perated by the driver f the vehicle. A vehicle licensed as an histrical vehicle is exempt frm this subsectin if the vehicle was nt riginally equipped with such a device. Each windshield wiper upn a mtr vehicle shall be maintained in gd wrking rder. (5) A truck with a grss weight ver 10,000 punds, a truck tractr, a bus, r a truck regardless f weight carrying hazardus materials n which a placard is required t be psted pursuant t 49 CFR parts 100 t 199 having a windshield shall be equipped with nt less than 2 autmatically perating windshield wiper blades, 1 n each side f the centerline f the windshield, fr cleaning rain, snw, r ther misture frm the windshield. The blades shall be in such cnditin as t prvide clear visin fr the driver, unless 1 blade is s arranged as t clean an area f the windshield extending t within 1 inch f the limit f visin thrugh the windshield at each side. Hwever, in driveaway-twaway peratins, this subsectin applies nly t the perated vehicle. In additin, 1 windshield wiper blade suffices under this subsectin when the driven vehicle in a driveaway-twaway peratin cnstitutes part r all f the prperty being transprted and has n prvisin fr 2 blades. A truck and truck tractr, manufactured after June 30, 1953, that depends upn vacuum t perate the windshield wipers, shall be s

cnstructed that the peratin f the wipers is nt materially impaired by change in the intake manifld pressure. (6) A truck with a grss weight ver 10,000 punds, a truck tractr, a bus, r a truck regardless f weight carrying hazardus materials n which a placard is required t be psted under 49 CFR parts 100 t 199 shall nt be perated n the highways at any time unless it is equipped with a ht air windshield defrster r an electrically heated windshield r ther device t heat and maintain the windshield in perable cnditin at all times.
