The buses in the school district have portholes located on the roof of the bus for emergency evacuations. These portholes are checked on a daily basis to ensure that in the case of an emergency they are in proper working order. The latch to unhook the porthole is located 79 inches above the floor of the bus and gripped using a lateral or palmar pinch. This latch is red and is approximately 6 inches long.
