STEP 1 - APPLYING HINGE BEVELS TO FRONT WING, REAR WING, VERTICAL STABILIZER, AND RUDDER FRONT WING (UNDERSIDE) 45 HINGE BEVEL ROUNDED LEADING EDGE B DETAIL A A 45 DOUBLE HINGE BEVEL ROUNDED LEADING EDGE DETAIL B 1. ROUND LEADING EDGES ON WINGS, VERTICAL STABILIZER, RUDDER, AND WINGLETS. 2. APPLY 6mm 45 HINGE BEVEL TO UNDERSIDES OF WINGS AND AILEVONS (ENSURE TO MAKE LEFT AND RIGHT AILEVONS). 3. APPLY DOUBLE 45 HINGE BEVEL TO VERTICAL STABILIZER AND RUDDER.

STEP 2 - INSTALLING CARBON TUBES TO THE BOTTOM OF THE WINGS CUT 3mm WIDE X 3mm DEEP GROOVE IN UNDERSIDE OF FRONT AND REAR WING. INSTALL AND EPOXY CARBON TUBE IN GROOVE. (21" TUBE IS INSTALLED IN FRONT WING & 27" TUBE INSTALLED IN REAR WING) FRONT WING LEADING EDGE (45~ HINGE BEVEL ON BOTTOM SIDE OF WING) CARBON TUBE CENTERED IN WING 1. CARBON TUBE INSTALLATION IN FRONT WING SHOWN. 2. CARBON TUBE INSTALLATION IN REAR WING SAME AS FRONT WING, BUT WITH VALUES SHOWN.

STEP 3 - ASSEMBLY OF THE FRONT WING, BOTTOM FUSELAGE, FRONT LANDING GEAR SUPPORT, AND REAR LANDING GEAR SUPPORT REAR LANDING GEAR SUPPORT (TOP) FRONT LANDING GEAR SUPPORT (TOP) BOTTOM FUSELAGE REAR LANDING GEAR SUPPORT (BOTTOM) EPOXY BOND FRONT LANDING GEAR SUPPORT (BOTTOM) FRONT WING 1. ENSURE BOTTOM FUSELAGE'S CENTER-LINE IS SQARE WITH THE LEADING EDGE OF THE FRONT WING AND BOND TOGETHER. 2. FRONT LANDING GEAR SUPPORT ARE FLUSH WITH THE LEADING EDGE OF THE FRONT WING AND CENTERED. 3. ORIENT FRONT LANDING GEAR SUPPORT SO MOUNTING HOLES ARE TOWARDS THE FRONT WING'S LEADING EDGE. 4. EPOXY PLY LANDING GEAR SUPPORTS TO BOTH SIDES OF THE FRONT WING AND BOTTOM FUSELAGE AS SHOWN. 5. DRILL MOUNTING GEAR HOLES IN FOAM ALIGNED WITH HOLES IN PLY LANDING GEAR SUPPORTS.

STEP 4 - INSTALLATION OF LANDING GEAR (CARBON TUBE ON UNDERSIDE OF WING) 6-32 NYLON NUT (4X) FRONT LANDING GEAR 6-32 AL SCREW (4X) REAR LANDING GEAR 1. INSTALL 6-32 FASTENERS SNUG AND EPOXY NYLON NUTS TO LANDING GEAR SUPPORTS. 2. ENSURE BEVELED HINGE AND CARBON TUBE ARE ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE ASSEMBLY.

GWS 400 MOTOR MOUNT STEP 5 - MOTOR MOUNT INTALLATION (OPTIONAL METHOD) 1-2 RIGHT THRUST POPSICLE STICK SHIM EPOXY MOTOR MOUNT STICK TO FRONT LANDING GEAR SUPPORT PLACE.25" SPACER WASHER ON THIS SIDE TO ACHIVE RIGHT THRUST 1. MOTOR PLACEMENT: LEFT TO RIGHT - PLACE MOTOR MOUNT STICK SLIGHTLY TO THE LEFT OF THE FUSELAGE CENTERLINE SO THAT THE PROPELLER IS CENTERED AT THE FRONT OF THE FUSELAGE AFTER THE 1-2 RIGHT THRUST OFFSET IS APPLIED TO THE MOTOR. UP/DOWN - ENSURE MOTOR MOUNTING HEIGHT PLACES THE MOTOR OUTPUT SHAFT AT THE PROPELLER AT THE MIDDLE OF THE FUSELAGE COWLING. 1-2 DOWN ANGLE MOTOR MOUNT SCREW

STEP 6 - ASSEMBLY OF THE FUSELAGE SIDES AND FUSELAGE FRAME RIGHT FUSELAGE SIDE EPOXY BOND FUSELAGE FRAME EPOXY BOND EPOXY BOND PLY LANDING GEAR SUPPORT TO FUSELAGE SIDE TRIM FUSELAGE NOTCH FOR REQUIRED CLEARANCE 1. LEFT FUSELAGE SIDE NOT SHOWN FOR ASSEMBLY CLARITY. 2. INSTALL LEFT FUSELAGE SIDE USING SAME METHOD AS THE SHOWN RIGHT SIDE. 3. POSITION THE FUSELAGE FRAME SO THAT THE AFT SIDE IS UP AGAINST THE FRONT OF THE REAR LANDING GEAR SUPPORT. THERE SHOULD BE A GAP OF 6mm BETWEEN THE TOP OF THE FUSELAGE FRAME AND THE TOP EDGE OF THE FUSELAGE SIDES.

STEP 7 - ASSEMBLY OF THE REAR WING REAR WING 1. ENSURE REAR WING'S LEADING EDGE IS PARALLEL WITH THE FRONT WING'S LEADING EDGE. 2. ENSURE CARBON TUBE AND HINGE BEVEL ARE ORIENTED TOWARDS THE UNDERSIDE OF THE SKYRIDER. 3. APPLY EPOXY TO THE FULL LENGTH JOINT OF THE FUSELAGE & REAR WING (WING UNDERSIDE ONLY).

STEP 8a - INSTALLATION OF THE FRONT AND REAR AILEVON SERVOS SERVO CUTOUT SIZED FOR YOUR MICRO SERVO 1. THE ORIGINAL SKYRIDER DIDN'T HAVE THE SERVO CUTOUTS IN THE FUSELAGE (THIS MODIFICATION IS ONLY FOR LOOKS) 2. THE FRONT AILEVON SERVO CUTOUT IS.06" ABOVE THE SURFACE OF THE FRONT WING TO CLEAR THE FRONT LANDING GEAR SUPPORT IN THE INTERIOR OF THE SKYRIDER. 3. THE REAR AILEVON SERVO CUTOUT IS FLUSH WITH THE SURFACE OF THE REAR WING. 4. HS-56 SERVOS RECOMMENDED

STEP 8b - INSTALLATION OF THE FRONT AND REAR AILEVON SERVOS HOT GLUE SERVO IN CUTOUT PLACE REAR AILEVON SERVOS WITH MOUNTING FLANGE FLUSH WITH FLAT FUSELAGE SURFACE 1. REFERENCE STEP 8c FOR AILEVON SERVO WIRING SCHEMATIC. 2. INSTALL SERVOS WITH WIRES TOWARDS THE CENTER OF THE SKYRIDER.

STEP 8c - SERVO WIRING DIAGRAM Y-HARNESS FRONT RIGHT AILEVON REAR RIGHT AILEVON CHAN 6 (SPARE) CHAN 6 (SPARE) CHAN 4 (RUDDER) CHAN 3 (THROTTLE) CHAN 2 (ELEVATOR) CHAN 1 (AILERON) ESC RUDDER RECEIVER FRONT LEFT AILEVON REAR LEFT AILEVON Y-HARNESS 1. CONNECT FRONT/LEFT AILEVON SERVO TO THE REAR/RIGHT AILEVON SERVO WITH A Y-HARNESS AND PLUG THE HARNESS INTO ELEVATOR CHANNEL. (ORIENT THE SERVO WITH THE WIRE LEADS FACING TOWARDS THE CENTER OF THE SKYRIDER) 2. CONNECT FRONT/RIGHT AILEVON SERVO TO THE REAR/LEFT AILEVON SERVO WITH A Y-HARNESS AND PLUG THE HARNESS INTO AILERON CHANNEL. (ORIENT THE SERVO WITH THE WIRE LEADS FACING TOWARDS THE CENTER OF THE SKYRIDER) 3. SETUP RADIO PROGRAMMING FOR ELEVON CONTROLS. 4. CORRECT CONTROL THROWS AILERON STICK TO THE RIGHT: FRONT & REAR/LEFT AILEVONS DEFLECT DOWN, FRONT & REAR/RIGHT AILEVONS DEFLECT UP AILERON STICK TO THE LEFT: FRONT & REAR/LEFT AILEVONS DEFLECT UP, FRONT & REAR/RIGHT AILEVONS DEFLECT DOWN ELEVATOR STICK TO THE BACK: REAR AILEVONS DEFLECT UP, FRONT AILEVONS DEFLECT DOWN ELEVATOR STICK TO THE FRONT: REAR AILEVONS DEFLECT DOWN, FRONT AILEVONS DEFLECT UP

STEP 9 - ASSEMBLY OF FUSELAGE TOP AND VERTICAL STABILIZER FUSELAGE TOP (REAR HALF) VERTICAL STABILIZER FUSELAGE TOP (FRONT HALF) EPOXY BOND TOOTHPICK (3 PLACES) (TRIM OFF EXPOSED EXCESS) 1. JOIN THE FRONT AND REAR FUSELAGE TOPS TOGETHER. 2. EPOXY THE VERTICAL STABILIZER TO THE TOP FUSELAGE AS SHOWN. 3. INSTALL 3 TOOTHPICKS TO THE ASSEMBLY AS SHOWN FOR SUPPORT. TRIM OFF EXCESS EXPOSED TOOTHPICKS.

STEP 10 - INSTALLATION OF THE FUSELAGE TOP ASSEMBLY ENSURE VERTICAL STAB IS FLUSH WITH AFT END OF FUSELAGE APPLY EPOXY TO TOP OF FUSELAGE FRAME EPOXY AND BEND FUSELAGE TOP TO FUSELAGE SIDE PROFILE TRIM EXCESS FUSELAGE TOP FOR MOTOR AND PROP CLEARANCE 1. EPOXY BOND UNDERSIDE OF THE FUSELAGE TOP TO THE TOP OF THE FUSELAGE FRAME. 2. EPOXY BOND FUSELAGE SIDES TO FUSELAGE TOP. BEND TOP TO THE CONTOUR OF THE FUSELAGE SIDES AND PIN/TAPE IN PLACE UNTIL CA BOND IS COMPLETE. 3. APPLY EPOXY TO THE FULL LENGTH JOINT OF THE FUSELAGE & REAR WING (WING TOPSIDE ONLY).

STEP 11 - RUDDER SERVO INSTALL SERVO 1. CUTOUT SERVO OPENING IN THE FUSELAGE TOP FLUSH WITH RIGHT SIDE OF THE VERTICAL STABILIZER STARTING AT THE FRONT OF THE VERTICAL STABILIZER. 2. HOT GLUE SERVO IN CUTOUT WITH THE SERVO WIRES FACING FORWARD.

STEP 12 - CONTROL SURFACE INSTALLATION REAR AILEVON (2X) RUDDER FRONT AILEVON (2X) HINGE TAPE 1. APPLY HINGE TAPE FULL LENGTH OF HINGE JOINT ON ALL CONTROL SURFACES. 2. APPLY HINGE TAPE TO BOTH SIDES OF THE HINGE LINE. 3. ENSURE HINGE JOINT IS FLAT WHEN APPLYING HINGE TAPE.

STEP 13 - INSTALLATION OF CONTROL SURFACE CONTROL HORNS CONTROL HORN.10 SERVO CONTROL HORN 1. POSITION CONTROL HORN SO THAT THE CONTROL HORN IS SPACED ABOUT.10" OUTBOARD OF THE SERVO CONTROL ARM AND THAT THE CONNECTING HOLE ON CONTROL HORN IS EVEN WITH THE HINGE LINE. 1. ONCE CONTROL HORN POSITION IS DETERMINED CUT A.06" X.75" SLOT THRU THE CONTROL SURFACE FOR THE CONTROL HORN. 2. EPOXY THE CONTROL HORN IN THE SLOT CUT IN THE CONTROL SURFACE. 3. ALL CONTROL HORN INSTALLATIONS ARE THE SAME AS THE INSTALLATION SHOWN. HINGE LINE CONTROL SURFACE

STEP 14 - INSTALLATION OF CONTROL RODS AND CONTROL SYSTEM SETTINGS.072 CONTROL ROD END "A" THREADED END "B" Z-BEND DUBRO KWIK CLEVIS DUBRO KWIK CLEVIS B A B A REAR AILEVON FRONT WING FRONT AILEVON REAR WING FRONT AILEVON SETUP.072 CONTROL ROD END "A" THREADED END "B" Z-BEND REAR AILEVON SETUP 1. THE FRONT AILEVON IS SET WITH.25" OF 'DOWN' WHEN THE SERVO IS NEUTRAL AND THE SERVO CONTROL ARM IS PERPENDICULAR TO THE SERVO. (SHOWN) 2. THE REAR AILEVON IS SET PARALLEL WITH THE REAR WING WHEN THE SERVO IS NEUTRAL AND THE SERVO CONTROL ARM IS PERPENDICULAR TO THE SERVO. (SHOWN) 3. THE RUDDER IS SET PARALLEL WITH THE VERTICAL STABILIZER WHEN THE SERVO IS NEUTRAL AND THE SERVO CONTROL ARM IS PERPENDICULAR TO THE SERVO.

EPOXY BOND FRONT WINGLETS TO FRONT WING AND REAR WINGLETS TO REAR WING. 2. ASSEMBLE WHEELS BY INSTALLING #8 NYLON WASHER ONTO THE 6-32 SCREW FOLLOWED BY THE MPI WHEEL. NEXT INSTALL ANOTHER #8 NYLON WASHER FOLLOWED BY THE 'WHEEL-SIDE' 6-32 NYLON NUT. TIGHTEN THE NUT SO THERE IS NO SPACE BETWEEN THE WHEEL AND WASHERS, BUT THE WHEEL IS FREE TO SPIN. LOCK THE 'WHEEL-SIDE' NUT IN PLACE WITH THICK CA. INSTALL WHEEL AND SCREW ASSEMBLY INTO THE LANDING GEAR LEG AND SECURE WITH 'LANDING GEAR SIDE' 6-32 NYLON NUT. LOCK THE 'LANDING GEAR SIDE' NUT IN PLACE WITH THICK CA (LOCKTITE OR SIMILAR CAN BE SUBSTITUTED FOR THICK CA).

STEP 16 - HOOD SCOOP, DETACHABLE CANOPY, AND MISC. HOOD SCOOP CA BOND CUT FUSELAGE AS SHOWN FOR INTERIOR ACCESS WASHER (4 PLACES) MAGNET (4 PLACES) 1. CONSTRUCT HOOD SCOPE FROM PLASTIC SPOON. REMOVE HANDLE AND CUT SPOON IN HALF. 2. EPOXY HOOD SCOOP TO FRONT TOP OF THE FUSELAGE AS SHOWN. 3. REMOVE FOAM UNDERNEATH THE HOOD SCOOP TO ALLOW FOR AIR FLOW INTO THE FUSELAGE. 4. USE STEEL WASHERS AND RARE EARTH MAGNETS TO SECURE THE THE DETACHABLE CANOPY TO THE FUSELAGE. EMBED AND GLUE MAGNET TO BOTH SIDES OF THE FUSELAGE AT THE FRONT AND REAR OF THE CANOPY OPENING. EMBED AND GLUE WASHERS OPPOSITE OF THE MAGNETS IN THE CANOPY. CREATE VENTALLATION HOLES ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE AFT FUSELAGE

STEP 17 - EQUIPMENT PLACEMENT MOTOR CG BATTERY ESC RECEIVER 1. INSTALL RECEIVER IN A CONVIENT LOCATION USING DOUBLE SIDED FOAM TAPE TO SECURE IT IN THE FUSELAGE. 2. INSTALL THE ESC JUST BEHIND THE MOTOR UNDER THE HOOD SCOOP. 3. INSTALL THE BATTERY PACK IN A LOCATION TO BALANCE THE SKYRIDER AT THE POINT SHOWN. USE HOOK AND LOOP VELCRO TAPE TO SECURE THE BATTERY IN THE FUSELAGE.
