INSTALLING THE FRONT AIR DAM HARDWARE SUPPLIED 44 3M VHB DOUBLE FACE TAPE 2 BRACKETS 691621-1 2 3M PRIMER 94 6 #8 X ¾ SELF DRILLING SCREWS Step 1) Remove the front splashguard from the front air dam. Then locate the (2) T-25 screw in each wheel well. Remove these screws and install the supplied brackets. Hand tighten until final installation. (See Image #1-2) IMAGE #1 IMAGE #2 Step 2a) Remove the front lower trim piece. (See images #3-4) IMAGE #3 IMAGE #4 Step 2b) Locate and remove the factory 7mm screw located on the bottom of the bumper. Do not discard. This will be re-used in the final installation.
Step 3) Using the tape measurer, measure 17 ¾ down from the corner of the bumper. (See Images #5-7) IMAGE #6 IMAGE #5 IMAGE #7 Step 4) Place the air dam on the front factory bumper and check the fit. The front center section should fit flush inside the opening on the bumper. The top edge of the air dam should parallel the bodyline on the factory bumper. Using a grease pencil draw a line along the top edge of the part for reference during final installation. Step 5) Remove the part from the car using Lacquer Thinner on a clean lint free cloth wipe the paint surface where the tape will attach. Be careful not to remove the grease pencil marks. Using the 3M primer 94 supplied, apply the adhesion promoter to the paint surface where the tape will attach. Step 6) Peel back a small piece of the red plastic backing from the tape making a tail that can be pulled when the air dam is installed. (See Image #8). Place the air dam on the car, positioning it using the grease pencil marks previously made as a reference. Starting with the center section pull the red backing tail and press the air dam to the paint surface to insure good adhesion of the double face tape. IMAGE #8
Step 7) Tighten the brackets and the screws in the wheel wells. Using the supplied (# 8 x ¾ ) self-tapping screws secure the air dam in the wheel wells through the pre-drilled holes in the air dam (2) #8x3/4 self-drilling screws in each wheel well. (See Image #9) IMAGE #9 Step 8) Secure the bottom of the front air dam to the vehicle with (2) #8 x ¾ self-tapping screws supplied through the outer pre-drilled holes. Re-install the 7mm screw, previously removed in step #2, through the center pre-drilled hole. (See Image #10) INSTALLING THE SIDE SKIRTS IMAGE #10 HARDWARE SUPPLIED 10 #8 X ¾ SELF DRILLING SCREWS 4 X-MAS TREE CLIPS 2 BRACKETS 691623-1 12.5 3M VHB DOUBLE FACE TAPE Step 1) Place the side skirts on the vehicle and check the fit. Using a grease pencil draw a line along the top edge of the part for reference during final installation. (See Images #11-12) IMAGE #11 IMAGE #12
Step 2) Remove the part from the car and using lacquer thinner on a clean lint free cloth wipe the paint surface where the tape will attach. Using the 3M Primer 94 adhesion promoter supplied, apply the adhesion promoter to the paint surface where the tape will attach. Step 3) Place the side skirt on the car positioning it using the bottom edge of the door sill as a reference line. Starting with the center, pull the red backing tail and press the side skirt firmly to the paint surface to ensure good adhesion. (See Images #13-14) IMAGE #13 IMAGE #14 Step 5) Using an electric drill with an 1/8 drill bit, drill through the pre-drilled holes into the front fenders. Using the supplied #8 x ¾ self tapping screws, secure the side skirt in the front wheel well through the pre-drilled holes in the side skirt - (2) holes on each side. (See Image #15) IMAGE #15 Step 6) Place the supplied brackets behind the side skirt in the rear wheel well and align with the pre-drilled holes. Secure it to the side skirt with the supplied (2) #8 x ¾ self tapping screws through the two pre-drilled holes. Secure the bracket to the vehicle s inner fender well with (1) #8 x ¾ self tapping screws. (See Images #16-17) IMAGE #16 IMAGE #17
Step 7) Locate the (2) pre-drilled holes on the bottom of the side skirts and drill a ¼ hole into the vehicle. Secure the side skirt to the bottom of the car with (2) X-mas tree clips provided on each side. (See Images #18-19) IMAGE #18 IMAGE #19 INSTALLING ING THE REAR LOWER HARDWARE SUPPLIED 28 3M VHB DOUBLE SIDED TAPE 1 BRACKET 691622-1L- LEFT WHEEL WELL 1 BRACKET 691622-1R RIGHT WHEEL WELL 2 BRACKET 691622-1 (CENTER OF REAR) 2 3M PRIMER 94 2 XMAS TREE FASTENERS ¼ X ¾ I X ¾ HEAD 4 #8 X ¾ SELF DRILLING SCREWS Step 1) Remove the tail lights. (See Images #20-21) IMAGE #20 IMAGE #21
Step 2) Remove the screw on both sides (See Image #22). IMAGE #22 Step 3) Remove lower fasteners on the LH & RH (See Image #23) IMAGE #23 Step 4) Remove the (2) wheel well fasteners on each side LH & RH and 8mm hex head screw above the wheel well fasteners (See Image #24) Step 5) Remove vertical screw under taillight Repeat for left and right sides. Remove 6 torx head screws around light and bumper. Remove taillight and bulbs and secure with tape to the vehicle. Remove screw from under light. IMAGE #24
Step 6) Carefully pull out the bumper from both sides outboard right & left sides (See Image #25) Step 7) Pull out the bumper (See Image #26) IMAGE #25 IMAGE #26 Step 8) Remove lower section from bumper. (See Image #27) Step 9) Snap new body section into the bumper without taking off the adhesive tape. IMAGE #27
Step 10) Using a tape measure, measure down 22 from the top corner edge of the rear bumper. Make a reference mark of this reference point with a grease pencil. (See Images #28-29) IMAGE #28 IMAGE #29 Step 11) Install the rear bumper back onto the vehicle. (See Image #30) IMAGE #30 Step 12) Installing the U-Bracket Re-using the OE fastener. (See Image #31) Note: There is a right and left bracket: 691022-L (Left) & 691022-1R (Right) IMAGE #31
Step 13) Peel back a small piece of the red plastic backing from the tape making a tail that can be pulled when the rear lower is installed. Place the rear lower back on the car, positioning it using the grease pencil marks as a reference. Starting with the either side right or left pull the red plastic tail and press the rear lower to the paint surface to insure adhesion of the double face tape. (See Image #32) IMAGE #32 Step 14) Secure the U-Bracket to the rear lower using the (2) #8 x ¾ screws provided and the OE re-used fastener. (See Image #33) IMAGE #33 Step 15) Place the supplied brackets 691622-2 inside the rear lower. Line up the brackets with the two pre-drilled holes in the rear lower skirt. Secure the brackets to the rear lower with the (2) Xmas tree clips provided. Locate and remove the factory clip that secures the rear bumper to the reinforcement. Reinstall the factory clip through the bracket supplied to the rear reinforcement. (See Image #34) IMAGE #34
