This may vary depending on the condition of the car and the equipment in it. The installation time specified does not include the time spent on programming/coding. The calculation of the total costs for the programming time must be factored into the calculation of retrofitting costs (no invoicing via warranty). Important information These installation instructions are primarily designed for use within the BMW dealership organisation and by authorised BMW service companies. In any event, the target group for these installation instructions is specialist personnel trained on BMW cars with the appropriate specialist knowledge. All work must be completed using the latest BMW repair manuals, circuit diagrams, servicing manuals and work instructions, in a rational order, using the prescribed tools (special tools) and observing current health and safety regulations. In the event of any installation or function problems, restrict the troubleshooting session to about 0.5 hours for mechanical work or hour for electrical work. In order to reduce costs and avoid any additional expense, send a query immediately to the Technical Parts Support via the Aftersales Assistance Portal (ASAP). Specify the following information: - chassis number, - part number of the retrofit kit, - a precise description of the problem, - work steps already carried out. Installation information When routing fibre optic cables, make sure the bending radius is no less than 25 mm. Ensure that the cables and/or lines are not kinked or damaged as you install them in the car. The costs thereby incurred will not be reimbursed by BMW AG. Additional cables/lines that you install must be secured with cable ties. If the specified PIN chambers are occupied, bridges, double crimps or twin-lead terminals must be used. All pictures show LHD cars; proceed accordingly on RHD cars. Ordering instructions On cars without SA 677 Professional Logic7 HiFi system, the left boot trim must be ordered separately (for instructions and part number, see EPC). 5. Installation work Remove the existing aerial amplifier as per ISTA No. 65 20 090. Engage aerial amplifier I in bracket (). Connect the previously disconnected cables to aerial amplifier I. 060 073 V I J B Connect aerial cable B to aerial amplifier I. Wrap the plug connections () with protective strips J and close with adhesive strips (2). Connect aerial cable B to video module E. Tie back any excess length. Connect branch A from wiring harness A to video module E. 5. Installation work Connect video module E using hexagon screws H behind the left-hand luggage trim. H H E 060 079 V A2 Secure branch A2 with the cable shoe to earth support point X3793. Route branch A3 along the vehicle's wiring harness () to the distribution fuse board. A3 X3793 060 080 V Route branch A3 along the vehicle's wiring harness () to the distribution fuse board (2). Connect the disconnected fibre-optic cable () with input (3) from fibre-optic cable C. The bending radius must not be less than 25 mm. Carefully tie back any excess on fibre-optic cable C.
