Parts and Accessories Installation Instructions TV function retrofit kit BMW X5 Series ( 53) These installation instructions are only valid for cars with SA 69 (navigation system) Important information The retrofit kit is for use within the BMW dealership organisation only. Subject to technical modifications. Target group The target group for these installation instructions is specialist personnel trained on BMW cars with the appropriate specialist knowledge. All work must be completed using the latest BMW repair manuals, circuit diagrams, servicing manuals and work instructions in a rational order using the prescribed tools (special tools) and observing current health and safety regulations. Installation information The installation of the aerial is shown on the right-hand side of the bumper, proceed in the same way on the left-hand side of the bumper. Refer to the instructions for use of Sikaflex-. nsure that the cables/lines are not kinked or damaged as you install them in the car. The installed cables are to be secured with cable ties. If the specified PIN chambers are occupied, bridges, double crimps or twin-lead terminals must be used. After the installation work the retrofit TV function must be coded using DISPlus, MoDiC III or GT- via the Retrofit path. Information on operation The TV function is only active when the car is at a standstill. Installation time Approx. -,5 hours, but this may vary depending on the condition of the car and the equipment in it. Pictograms denotes instructions that draw your attention to special features.! To prepare the aerial b a Prepare the aerial as follows: - Knock the arm () flat - Mark dimensions a = 3 mm and b = 4 mm and centrepunch the drilling position () - Drill through the aerial plate at the drilling position () using a 6 mm twist drill bit 53 538 Z G Install the spacer G on the aerial plate using an expanding rivet F. To install the aerial 3 Place the aerial plate on the interior shell (5) of the bumper as shown: - Insert the journal () between the interior shell (5) and the support (3) - Place the arm (4) on the journal () 4 5 53 554 Z Align the aerial plate so that the spacer G lays on the interior shell () with no stress. Mark the holes () on the interior shell (). G 53 574 Z! Do not damage the exterior shell of the bumper. Drill through the interior shell () of the bumper (3) in the marked position using a 6 mm twist drill bit. Clean the gluing area () and spacer bush G. 6. To install the aerial Secure the capacitor () and earth cable M to the support () using a self-tapping screw H. H M 53 557 Z H Install the left aerial plate. Secure the capacitor to the support () using a selftapping screw H. Cars without PDC only Fit the cable tie holders K to the existing holes in the support ().
