Safety instructions DANGER TO LIFE AND RISK OF ACCIDENTS FOR INFANTS AND CHILDREN! Never leave children alone and unsupervised with the packaging material. There is always a risk of suffocation if children play with the packaging material. Children often underestimate risks. Always keep children away from the packaging material. This product is not a toy. This product can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the product in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the product. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision. This product is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of children. Children are not aware of the dangers associated with handling electrical products. Do not use the product if you detect any kind of damage. CAUTION! DANGER OF EXPLOSION! Do not operate the product in potentially explosive environments in which there are inflammable vapours, gases or dusts. Protect the product from moisture and damp. Never immerse the product in water or other liquids! Connect the product to a properly installed mains socket only. The voltages in each case must comply with information given in the section Technical data. Ensure that the electrical socket is easily accessible so that you can pull the plug quickly out of the socket if necessary. Do not carry out any modifications or repairs to the product yourself. The LEDs cannot and must not be replaced. CAUTION! The protective surround to the LEDs cannot be replaced. Dispose of the product if you discover cracks or signs of fracture on the protective surround. Dispose of the product if the product or the mains adapter is damaged. Never connect the product to a power supply socket if the product, power lead or socket is damaged or the product has been dropped. Ensure that the power lead cannot become damaged by sharp edges or hot objects. Unwind all the lead completely before use. Keep easily flammable materials away from the product. Never hang objects above the product or the mains adapter and never cover them. Disconnect the mains adapter when you are not using the product or before you clean it. Do this as well if signs of a fault develop during use or charging, e.g. smoke, burning smell etc., or during a storm. When doing this, pull directly on the mains adapter. Do not pull the cord. Protect the product from extreme heat and cold. The product is only suited for use with the included mains adapter (model no. SD-B0501000D). Please note that the mains adapter continues to draw a small amount of power even if the product is turned off as long as the mains adapter is plugged into a power outlet. To switch the product off completely, unplug the mains adapter from the socket. The illuminants are not replaceable. If the illuminants fail at the end of their lifes, the entire product must be replaced. 8 GB/IE/NI

Safety instructions for batteries / rechargeable batteries DANGER TO LIFE! Keep batteries / rechargeable batteries out of reach of children. If accidentally swallowed seek immediate medical attention. DANGER OF EXPLOSION! Never recharge non-rechargeable batteries. Do not short-circuit batteries / rechargeable batteries and / or open them. Overheating, fire or bursting can be the result. Never throw batteries / rechargeable batteries into fire or water. Do not exert mechanical loads to batteries / rechargeable batteries. Risk of leakage of batteries / rechargeable batteries Avoid extreme environmental conditions and temperatures, which could affect batteries / rechargeable batteries, e.g. radiators / direct sunlight. Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and mucous membranes. In the event of contact with battery acid, thoroughly flush the affected area with plenty of clean water and seek immediate medical attention. WEAR PROTECTIVE GLOVES! Leaked or damaged batteries / rechargeable batteries can cause burns on contact with the skin. Wear suitable protective gloves at all times if such an event occurs. This product has a built-in rechargeable battery which cannot be replaced by the user. The removal or replacement of the rechargeable battery may only be carried out by the manufacturer or their customer service or by a similarly qualified person in order to prevent hazards. When disposing of the product, it should be noted that this product contains a rechargeable battery. Before use Note: Remove all packaging materials from the product. Charging the product Note: You can charge the product from an ordinary domestic mains power outlet. Note: To use the product without an adapter, you must first charge the integral rechargeable battery. It takes approx. 6 8 hours. Note: Fully charge the product before first use. Note: Charge the product at least once a month, if it is to remain unused for an extended period of time. Note: If the product has not been charged for an extended period of time (approx. 2 months), you could find that the integral rechargeable battery has entered a dormant state. Charge and discharge the product a number of times in succession to reactivate the integral rechargeable battery. Note: You can choose to charge the product directly via the mains adaptor 10 or via the charging station. Before charging, switch the product off (press ON / OFF switch 4 ). To charge the product via mains adaptor 10 directly, plug the male connector of the mains adaptor 10 into the female connector (LED work light) 7. To charge the product via the charging station, plug the male connector of the mains adaptor 10 into the female connector (charging station) 9. Then place the product into the charging station to charge the product (see Fig. B). GB/IE/NI 9

Note: The product is fitted with an overcharge protection circuit. Despite this, you should disconnect the LED inspection lamp from the power supply after the charging process is complete. Note: During charging, the charging indicator (LED work light) 3 lights up red. When charging is complete, the charging indicator (LED work light) 3 lights up green. When the charging indicator (LED work light) 3 is green, pull the mains adaptor 10 out of the socket. Disconnect the mains adaptor 10 from the product to prevent the rechargeable battery from discharging. Use CAUTION RISK OF ACCIDENT! Always store and secure the product in such a way that there is no risk of injury from or damage to the product, even during full braking. Note: The product features magnets 6 on the back. Ensure the metallic surface is sufficiently magnetisable to carry the weight of the product, before you use the magnets 6. Using the product without a power connection Fully charge the product as described in the section Charging the product. Press the ON / OFF switch 4 to turn the inspection light 2 on. Press the ON / OFF switch 4 again to turn the torch 1 on and the inspection light 2 will turn off at the same time. Press the ON / OFF switch 4 the third time, the entire product will be switched off. Corded use of the product Use the included mains adaptor 10 for this purpose. Using the respective mains adaptor 10, connect the product to a suitable power supply. Then proceed as described under Using the product without a power connection (starting with step 2). NOTE: The product can only be charged whilst off! Fixing the product The product can be used in 2 ways without having to hold it in your hand: Hold the magnets 6 against a metallic magnetic surface. The product remains in this position. Fold out the hook 5 to suspend the product from a suitable suspension point. The hook 5 can be turned through 360 degree. Mounting the charging station (see Fig. C) Note: You will need an electric drill. CAUTION! RISK OF INJURY! Please read the operating instructions for your drill. CAUTION! Ensure that you do not damage any electricity cables in the wall or ceiling. 10 GB/IE/NI

Mark the two mounting holes at a distance of approx. 35 mm apart. Now drill the holes on the wall (Ø approx. 6 mm; depth approx. 30 mm). Insert the dowels 13 into the drilled holes. If necessary use a hammer to make this easier. Screw up the screws 12 on the dowels. Now hang the charging station to the screws via the mounting holes 11. Use the included drill template intended for marking the drill holes. Maintenance and cleaning The product requires no maintenance. The LEDs cannot be replaced. Switch off and disconnect the product from the power supply before you clean it. Never immerse the product in water or other liquids. Do not use corrosive cleaning agents. Clean the product regularly with a dry, fluff-free cloth. Use a slightly moist cloth to remove any stubborn dirt. Disposal The packaging is made entirely of recyclable materials, which you may dispose of at local recycling facilities. The Green Dot is not valid for Germany. b a Observe the marking of the packaging materials for waste separation, which are marked with abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) with following meaning: 1 7: plastics / 20 22: paper and fibreboard / 80 98: composite materials. The product and packaging materials are recyclable, dispose of it separately for better waste treatment. The Triman logo is valid in France only. Contact your local refuse disposal authority for more details of how to dispose of your worn-out product. To help protect the environment, please dispose of the product properly when it has reached the end of its useful life and not in the household waste. Information on collection points and their opening hours can be obtained from your local authority. Faulty or used batteries / rechargeable batteries must be recycled in accordance with Directive 2006/66/EC and its amendments. Please return the batteries / rechargeable batteries and / or the product to the available collection points. Environmental damage through incorrect disposal of the batteries / rechargeable batteries! Batteries / rechargeable batteries may not be disposed of with the usual domestic waste. They may contain toxic heavy metals and are subject to hazardous waste treatment rules and regulations. The chemical GB/IE/NI 11

symbols for heavy metals are as follows: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead. That is why you should dispose of used batteries / rechargeable batteries at a local collection point. Warranty The product has been manufactured to strict quality guidelines and meticulously examined before delivery. In the event of product defects you have legal rights against the retailer of this product. Your legal rights are not limited in any way by our warranty detailed below. The warranty for this product is 3 years from the date of purchase. Should this product show any fault in materials or manufacture within 3 years from the date of purchase, we will repair or replace it at our choice free of charge to you. The warranty period begins on the date of purchase. Please keep the original sales receipt in a safe location. This document is required as your proof of purchase. This warranty becomes void if the product has been damaged, or used or maintained improperly. The warranty applies to defects in material or manufacture. This warranty does not cover product parts subject to normal wear, thus possibly considered consumables (e.g. batteries) or for damage to fragile parts, e.g. switches, rechargeable batteries or glass parts. 12 GB/IE/NI
