SERIES 700 OVERALL SPECIFICATIONS TUESDAY, MARCH 29, 2005 Doors Doors skins are manufactured of 18 gauge galvanized steel (A60) with a mechanical interlocking edge seam (epoxy filled). The top and bottom end channels are inverted and constructed of 14 gauge steel (A60). Doors have an insulated polystyrene core and are continuously bonded to the door skins. Door faces are smooth and have a beveled edge. Hinge reinforcements are 7 gauge steel mortised for a 4 ½ x 4 ½ standard weight hinge. 161 Lock ring and 86 lock reinforcements are 14 gauge. Doors are not reversible and have a baked on primer coat beige finish meeting ANSI A250.10 standards. Frames Frames are manufactured of 16 gauge galvanized steel (A60). Frames have a standard double rabbited 5 ¾ profile, with ½ returns and an additional 5/16" drywall backbend. The header interlocks with the jamb for a mitered corner connection all four corners are then back welded for a solid structural frame. Hinge reinforcements are 7 gauge and projection welded in 4 places. They are designed for 4 ½ x 4 ½ full mortise standard weight hinges, but can accept heavy duty hinges as well. Strike jambs comes prepared with an ASA strike. Jambs have a baked on primer coat beige finish meeting ANSI A250.10 standards. Subframes Subframes are constructed of 16 gauge galvanized material (A40 min). They are 7' 2" in height, while the width is variable based on matching the building manufacturers girt depth. Subframes have 1 ¾ flanges at both ends and are notched to allow for the back leg of the girt so there is no interference or field notching required. The subjambs replace the need for a framed opening. Subframes are offset to allow for the metal wall panel to tuck behind the frame face, making the door system self flashing. Subframes are offset through the use of four (4) polyethylene block anchors in each jamb. They provide a surface for the c-channel attachment and stiffen the jambs. Attachment L-Clips Attachment L-clips (L angles) are used both at the header and base. Clips are 12 gauge galvanized steel and come pre-punched with hole locations. Clips are 5 ¾ wide and are attached through the subframes and into returns of the frame with self drilling screws. Top clip is attached to the girt with self drilling screws and the bottom clip is fastened to the floor with masonry anchors. Clips are 8" in length and can be adjusted to varying girt heights. Hardware Locking hardware are Ingersoll-Rand brands of Schlage, Von Duprin, and LCN. Standard lock is a Schlage Grade 2 lever lock (AL53PD). Hinges are 4 ½ x 4 ½ full mortise ball bearing hinges with non-removable pins, and a silver powder coat finish. Threshold is a full 5 ¾ wide aluminum piece matching the frame depth. Dual fingered u shaped sweep, concealed in the inverted door bottom channel. Other hardware options are available. Packaging Preassembled doors are factory assembled. Door system is fully enclosed in a double wall corrugated box, and perimeter is filled with foam in place protectors. Door package is then placed on a wood skid. All packages are clearly marked with the PO# or job number (or other) as requested by the customer. Page 2
