Dedicated to save lives Contributing significantly to the passengers safety, aircraft exit signs must meet a number of strict requirements. The Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) defines clear specifications concerning size and position, colors, brightness and visibility of exit indicators. In case of emergency, the reliability of exit signs is an indispensable precondition for the safe and quick evacuation of the aircraft. Whether they are wall or ceiling mounted, rectangular or oval, horizontal or vertical UTC Aerospace Systems Exit Signs are available with prints in many different languages for international or domestic use. Meeting the FAR requirements, all of them show red letters on an aviation white background. Most of the Exit Signs presented in this brochure use stateof-the-art LED technology. They feature a long lifetime of up to 30,000 hours, low power consumption, low maintenance effort, high resistance to shock and vibration and room temperature at touchable parts. Operating the Exit Signs Exit Signs are always operated by battery packs to make them independant from the aircraft's power system. Many of the Exit Signs UTC Aerospace Systems offers feature dual feed options. Connecting them to two different power sources ensures that the signs keep working even if one of the power sources fails.
