LESLIE CLASS DLO(S)-2 CAGE-RETAINED TRIM CONTROL VALVES ANSI 25-300 CLASS Page B
Leslie s Class DLO(S)-2 cage-retained control valves are designed for general purpose control of clean, dirty, viscous or corrosive liquids, as well as low to medium pressure, clean or dirty steam and gas service. The cage-retained seat design eliminates the need or use of any threaded internal parts insuring ease of maintenance and parts replacement even after years in corrosive service. Top entry design also permits easy access to all internal parts for inspection or maintenance without removal of the valve from the DESIGN FEATURES pipeline. The DLO-2 class also features the highest Cv capacity of any comparable single seated valve in the industry providing maximum flows and minimum pressure losses. Two point stem guiding provides rigid plug guiding and makes these valves especially suited for controlling dirty liquids or steam. Through-bolted bonnet on cast steel and stainless steel valves, in lieu of bonnet studs, makes valve servicing easy, even after many years of service in corrosive environments. Body Materials Class DLO(S)-2 control valves are available in several body materials to handle a wide variety of applications. Standard body materials include cast iron, carbon steel (DLOS-2), and 36 stainless steel (DLOS-2). Other materials are available on request. Two Point Stem Guiding The heavy duty stem is guided at the top and bottom of the bonnet by two guide bushings. Unlike single point guiding, this method minimizes trim wear and seat leakage caused by plug deflection and vibration. Stem guiding also eliminates any possibility of pumping of fluid as can happen with post guided globe valves by eliminating the bushing cavity where media can become trapped then pumped through the packing. Tight Shut-Off Seat material choices include 36 stainless steel seats with Stellite* alloy hardfacing providing ANSI Class IV or V shut-off, 36 stainless steel optional. An optional 36 stainless steel seat with a PTFE insert provides ANSI Class VI bubble-tight shut-off and Class IV metal-tometal back-up. End Connections DLO-2 Series valves are available in ANSI 25# 250#, and (DLOS-2) series in 50# and 300# class body ratings. Choice of standard end connections include threaded, socket weld, butt weld and raised face flanged. DIN flange end connections optional. * STELLITE is a registered trademark of Stoody Deloro Stellite, Inc. Page B2
Cage-Retained Trim Leslie Class DLO-2 valves feature no internal threaded parts making them ideally suited for handling corrosive fluids and insuring ease of parts removal even after years of service. The non-threaded seat ring is rigidly clamped into the valve body by the bonnet and the seat retaining cage. Reduced Trim Options Class DLO-2 Series control valves offer up to five different trim sizes and flow capacities for a given body size. Reduced trim options provide controllable Cv s from.02 to 57. For metering applications, Microtaper* trim provides Cv s as low as.0. Multiple trim selections provide optimized valve sizing, allow for future capacity increases, control of body velocities and easy correction of oversized valve problems. One Piece Stem/Plug One piece plug and stem eliminates any possibility of separation due to vibration and ensures correct plug/stem alignment at assembly for accurate seating and tight shut-off. Stem Wrench Flats Wrench flats on the stem provide convenient means for holding the valve stem during disassembly without risk of damaging the 8 micro-inch sealing surface. Bolted Yoke Conventional valves with the lock-nut actuator mounting design are easily ruined and scrapped due to corrosion. Leslie valves use a 4-bolt actuator mounting design which guarantees ease of disassembly no matter how corrosive the environment. PACKING CONFIGURATIONS LIVE-LOADED PTFE - V-RING (PRESSURE) Live-loaded PTFE V-ring packing provides the most maintenance free stem seal. The V-ring packing is both pressure energized and live-loaded by a 36 Stainless Steel spring to automatically compensate for packing wear. Maximum service temperature is 460 F (238 C). V-rings can be inverted for vacuum service. PTFE/GRAPHITE Split rings allow packing replacement without removal of actuator. Graphite impregnated PTFE provides 500 F (260 C) service temperature, better memory and sealing than pure PTFE rings, lowered stem hysteresis, and is ideal for fluids that contain suspended particles. DOUBLE-PTFE WITH BLEED, PURGE Two sets of packing rings separated by a 36 stainless steel lantern ring can provide zero stem leakage and prevent fugitive emissions. Bonnets are /4" NPT drilled/tapped for connection of lubricators, water seals, bleed-off or positive inert gas purge. Maximum temperature 500 F (260 C). Leslie actuators feature long strokes, constant effective diaphragm area for linear response and high operating pressures (to 60 psi) to minimize actuation costs. Leslie actuators also feature a 4-bolt yoke mounting method (not bonnet lock-nut) to insure ease of disassembly, even after years in corrosive service. ACTUATORS As standard options, a variety of accessories can be yoke mounted including: Positioners, Pneumatic/Electro-Pneumatic I/P Transducers Proximity or Limit Switches Position Transmitters Solenoid Valves Integral Filter/Regulators A manual override hand operating device (HOD) is also available for manual valve operation or use as a valve travel limit stop.
