WHO WE ARE Key Wholesalers Pty Ltd t/a Solar Bollard Lighting was first registered and operational on the 22 nd of October 2003 as a subsidiary trading company of Key Logic Pty Ltd. Key Logic Pty Ltd is the owner of all IP for the group with Key Wholesalers t/a SBL carrying out all R&D, commercialisation and manufacturing of our technologies here in Australia. Our first Taiwanese manufactured Series 1 solar bollard light was released in January 2006 with a 2.5watt solar module and deep cycle gel battery running our electronic circuit design consistently now for 12 years. Thus proving our PCB electronics design reliability with only battery changes due to short cycle life's in gel/agm batteries and polishing the PC Dome Top throughout this period due to the lower grade polymer used in the Series 1. We have been manufacturing in Australia the SBL Series model since July 2012 with many substantial upgrades throughout this models life and from 2018 the SBL2 Series that also has 10 years minimum expected life span of all components with minimal maintenance required and a 7 year Australian manufacturer warranty. Our current SBL Series products have been exported to over 32 countries to date, and we tested the pre-launch models in various climates to ensure we had the right initial mix of componentry for performance required for individual locations and climate types to achieve operational longevity.
OUR CURRENT MODEL SERIES Our SBL Series model was our first time to use LiFePo4 cells in a 3.2VDC 10Ah configuration. We changed our polycarbonate materials to higher grades so the UV effects (yellowing) would not start to occur until 10-12 years had passed, and also why we guarantee our product for a minimum expected operational life of 10 years. The SBL Series will continue to be sold as the lower cost variant of our model range Our new SBL2 Series available from January 2018, now uses a 3.2VDC 17Ah LiFePo4 cell which means an additional 70% autonomy over the current SBL Series in the same power variant comparison. Our New SBL2 Series has been redesigned to be submersible, ideal for lighting locations where cyclones/hurricanes/typhoons, tsunamis, tidal surges and generalised flooding is prominent. Our new SBL2 Series will also offer symmetrical and asymmetrical light disbursement Our new SBL2 Series now uses as standard 4300K +/- and 3000K LED chips bringing it in line with new global lighting standards. 5200K and Amber will still be available as special orders.

SBL2 PRODUCT COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS Bird and Wildlife Friendly: Other Competitors: mostly have flat solar modules mounted on top of the bollard with exposed edge sections. Having birds rest or nest on top of a solar bollard reduces the amount of irradiation into the solar module thus reducing recharge capabilities and imminent failure. OUR SOLAR BOLLARDS: top dome design ensures birds cannot easily use the solar bollard as a resting point as there are no flat surfaces or edges for them to grip on to. This also eliminates the need for bird spikes. Daily Expected Runtime: Other Competitors: in general state runtimes of 6-10 hours daily with 3-4 rainy days autonomy with a fully recharged battery. There are very few equatorial locations only that have 10 hour mid-winter nightly runtimes OUR SOLAR BOLLARDS: are designed to run for up to 21 hours per night with between 61 hours up to 382.5 hours autonomy based upon our 6 model variants in suitable locations. Expected Operational Life: Other Competitors: up to 5 years possibly expected OUR SOLAR BOLLARDS: minimum >10 years. Warranty Offered: Other Competitors: in general 1-3 years if they honor it. OUR SOLAR BOLLARDS: 7 years warranty due to workmanship including battery if installed in suitable location per model choice. Solar Module Protection: Other Competitors: modules exposed to hair line fractures via encapsulating their solar modules. Direct impact on the solar module will fracture the cell making it fail or shatter. Yellowing will quickly reducing ability to recharge. OUR SOLAR BOLLARD: was designed that no direct impact is possible directly to the solar module due to distance between the specially formulated polymer PC dome and a shock absorbing adhesive attaching the module to the internal reflector. Battery Maintenance: Other Competitors: every 2-3 years change over. AGM/GEL batteries will fail rapidly over +30 o C or below 0 o C OUR SOLAR BOLLARDS: never, as Power Cell will outlast other components with expected up to 15 year cycle life when installed in correct location, and our units operational life 10 years plus. UV Effects and Strength Reduction: Other Competitors: standard off the shelf polycarbonates or acrylics with yellowing effects rapidly decreasing irradiation input causing unit recharge failure within 3-5 years and causing casing to become brittle and breakable. OUR SOLAR BOLLARDS: uses SLX Lexan polycarbonate withstanding serious UV effects with only minimal yellowing starting at approximately 10 years on the dome with an ambient temperature range capability of -30 o C to +80 o C. Life expectancy can be increased by polishing the top dome with Meguires PLASTX annually and finally polished with Vuplex.
