Feature D series of pneumatic rack & pinion actuator is designed on the basis of C series pneumatic actuator, displacing the complicated electronic control by simple mechanical action.it specially meets the demands of high safety factor and working conditions like petroleum, gas and chemical liquid transportation. It provides the operation of 0-45 - 90. The mid-travel position adjustment is realized by an external mechanical breaking which is driven by the movement of two auxiliary pistons. This mid-travel position is adjustable, for example, 90 actuators provide mid-travel position of 5, 20, 30, 50, 75, etc. General Data Double acting: From 20Nm@5bar to 1923Nm@5bar Torque Range Spring return: From 8.5Nm@5bar to 827Nm@5bar Dry or lubricated air, or the non-corrosive gases. Operation Type & Marker Pneumatic Actuator Air supply connection is designed in accordance with NAMUR standard for easy installation of solenoid valves. The Namur driven pinion and Namur top mounting connection permit direct installation of accessories such as limit switch box and positioner. The design of the bottom mounting connection in accordance with ISO5211 and DIN3337 standards, permits direct installation of manual override or mounting brackets. Selection of Double Acting Actuators Suggested safety factor on normal working conditions is 20%-30%. Example: Torque needed by valve=100n.m Safety factor (1+30%)=130N.m Air Supply=5Bar Minimum model 160DA is selected according to the torque table. Selection of Spring Return Actuators Suggested safety factor on normal working conditions is 30%-50%. Example: Torque needed by valve=80n.m Safety factor (1+30%)=104N.m Air Supply=5Bar Check the torque table of spring return actuators', the output torque of 435SR is: Air stroke 0 =266.9N.m Air stroke 90 =180.6N.m Spring stroke 90 =257.9N.m Spring stroke 90 =171.6N.m All the output torque is larger than needed. Attention: During the restoration, the spring return actuators' output torque will not be affected by the inputing air from the port B. On the contrary, it will help the restoration of springs. During selecting the spring return actuators, if we know the torque needed for the valve opening, operating and closing, we can select more reasonable and economical actuators. Example Max. torque needed by the butterfly valve=80n.m Torque needed to open valve (operate)104x30%=24n.m Air Supply=5Bar Butterfly valve 255SR K11 type is selected.
