Wilshire/La Brea Station Center Opening Benefits Why the center opening? Safety: it s the safest method for both the public and the workers to complete the work Traffic: it creates a static traffic pattern, rather than a variety of sign and cone closures that would change daily Noise: it allows for more robust noise mitigation and a better contained work zone than sign and cone closures, also allows the work to be scheduled primarily during daytime hours than with traffic restrictions for sign and cone closures The project is working with the local community and stakeholders near Wilshire/La Brea, detailed presentation on the center opening is online at metro.net/purple 27
