AgriWheel Single Gate Kit Low Voltage & Solar Installation & Operating Instructions

Thank you for purchasing you AgriWheel system. Please remove the lids from both the machine and control box and remove all the loose contents which have been stored in there for transit only. Please check you have all the following parts to make up the basic system. There may be additional parts which relate to your own personal order. List of parts AgriWheel Machine With Lid Control Box E-Lock with key(s) 1 x Safety Beams 2 x Remote Control Key-Fobs Flexible Conduit Kit Instruction Manual Once you have checked you have all the parts required, please find below a list of tools required to install a basic AgriWheel system. List of Tools Required 4mm Allen Key Two 17mm Spanners 10.2mm Drill Two 10mm Spanners Length of String (longer than gate) Screwdriver & Screws 16mm Drill or Cone cutter Small Philips Screwdriver Small Flat End Screwdriver Wire Strippers Voltmeter

Mounting Your AgriWheel 175mm 75mm Remove the 2 M10 x 100 bolts and plate from the suspension arms. Drill 2 x 10mm clearance holes as per diagram, on the bottom of the upright on the latch end of the gate. Locate the bolts through the plate, and through the drilled holes, and re-mount the machine assembly and tighten the assembly together making sure the plate/bracket remain vertical. Setting the Tracking of Your AgriWheel Tie a length of string, onto the hinge pin and hook the string under the hinge end of the gate and pull it the length of the gate and under the wheel. Your Agriwheel has come with the locking bolts loose, angle the machine so the string runs through the centre line of the machine, and emerges through the centre of the wheel at 90 degrees, tighten the 2 M10 x 20 bolts into the pivot block, and the M6 locking nuts & bolts. Correct alignment reduces tyre wear and amp draw (battery life) as well as improves the speed & performance of the gate. Page 3

Fitting the E-Lock Bolt the E-lock to the gate at the desired height making sure there is enough clearance for it not to foul on the keep when the gate is closing. Recommended height is about 300mm (1ft) above the Agriwheel lid Lock the keep into the lock and push it tight to the post. Align the keep centrally to the lock so there is equal clearance all round. Mark the position of the keep on the post to enable you to secure it in place. YOU NEED TO WIRE IN THE LOCK BOARD Lock Board Wiring Chart *Place a dab of petroleum jelly on the terminal connections to prevent corrosion WHITE wire to Control Board Flash Lamp + terminal BLACK Wire to Battery Negative (-) Terminal Red Wire to Battery Positive (+) Terminal BLACK Wire From Lock RED Wire From Lock Page 4

Beginning The Wiring To begin the wiring you will need one length of 2-core 1.5mm cable (you will need to measure from the E-Lock, down and along the gate and into the control box) and one length of 2-core 2.5mm cable ( measured from the machine to the control box) do not leave the cable shortalways place the machine on the lowest point of the drive surface, to make sure the cable doesn t pull tight when the gate is working. Place both cables through the 100mm length of flexible conduit supplied. Then place the 2-core x 2.5mm cable through the 400mm length, and the 2-core x 1.5mm through the 1200mm length & clip together as per diagram above using the T-clip supplied. The 2.5mm cable must then pass through the back of the machine and clip the 400mm conduit into the end piece installed. We would reccomed a small junction box to join the E-Lock cable to your cable, or alternatively feed your cable into the back of the lock and connect it direct to the internal connection block The latch should then be wired up as per diagram on previous page. The polarity is not important. However the motor should be connected in the machine using connector blocks. When first powering the gate the gate should open, if it dosent swap the polarity of the motor cables WHITE wire to Control Board Flash Lamp + terminal The cable should then be run the length of the gate, to the control box, allowing for the gate to open & close without stretching or trapping the cable. The flexible conduit & clips are available separately. The flexible conduit also fits inside 20mm conduit readily available at most diy outlets. Page 5

The Control Box Your Control Box needs to be mounted securely near the hinge post. The wiring from the gate needs to be slack enough to allow the wiring not to be stretched when the gate is closed, but being careful the wiring doesn t get trapped during the operation of the gate. Where possible, enter the box with the cable, preferably from the underneath. This avoids any water/snow laying on the top seeping in. If required, flexible conduit & fixings can be purchased separately from our website, or from most DIY outlets. The contents & layout of your box will vary depending on your particular order. You will need to mount the box with good strong fixings, bearing in mind the weight of the box once the battery (s) are all replaced. At this point, before you mount the box you need to plan ahead. The beams need to be mounted approx 550mm from the ground. You will have to run a cable underground for the beam on the other post, and you may have cables to lay to an intercom or digital keypad. Now is the time to plan where all these cables are going to run up the post and into the box. Exit Keypad Re-Open Beams Intercom Page 6

Charging the System There are two ways you can charge the system, Solar or Mains, however by this point you will already have decided how you are going to charge the system, both methods are connected into the system in the same way. Charging with Solar You will have to decide the best site for your solar panel, it needs to be facing due south, and ideally not to be in the shadow of any trees or buildings. (If your not sure, it is an idea to go out and stand there 3 or 4 times in a day to assess your site. Once you have decided a position you will have to mount onto a post, some people mount it low & fenced in (as pictured), and some people prefer to put it out of peoples reach. (You will need to fabricate your own support. Charging with Mains Your AgriWheel will come with an AC-DC transformer which must be connected as shown below. This must simply be connected straight into the control board, You may need to extend the cable with a suitable connector. WARNING! Although at this point you are dealing with DC Low Voltage current, if any changes to the mains supply are required we recommend you contact a qualified electrician. Before you connect either the transformer or solar panel up, you must connect up at the control board end first, this avoid any live voltage coming through the cable when you are making the connections. With the transformer connect into terminals SOLAR + -, OBSERVE CORRECT POLARITY INCORRECT CONNECTION WILL CAUSE SEVERE DAMAGE Once mounted, you need to connect the panel, with the use of a simple voltmeter, you will need to determine which is the positive and negative terminals (place your meter on the connector strips arrowed right). Once you have established this, connect the cables by pushing in the connector button and inserting the cable securely.

Cable connections Before you begin to connect & set up the machine, you will need to install a mechanical stop to prevent the gate travelling back too far. As pictured left, a slab and gravel run helps to prevent slip in wet conditions FULL CONTROL BOARD INSTRUCTIONS ON LATER PAGES Once the above connections are made follow the instructions on the following pages to set up your control board Page 7

External Antenna Exit Wand Transformer AC Only DO NOT USE Solar panel or DC Transformer DC12V Motor Push button Flash lamp & DC12v Power supply for solar function of photocells DC12V Battery Photocell (NO Signal) Connect to C & NC on photocell 1.) The control board uses a built in current feedback as limits, when it contacts stop block, it will stop working automatically. 2.) When the gates are closing if they run into obstacle they will stop and auto reverse.

Connect gate motor to MOTOR Terminal If the directions of motor running is reversed, Exchange two wires on motor terminals. Gate should open on first command Transformer can be used to supply power if you don't use solar panel and battery. Output voltage of transformer is AC12v rated power must be 80-200W. AC12V terminals are for transformer only AC12V WARNING CONNECT DC TRANSFORMER TO SOLAR PANEL INPUT The control board has built-in solar regulator, once the batteries are fully charged, it will stop charging automatically. Output Voltage and power of Solar panel must be 18v 10w to 18v 100w Pay close attention to POSITIVE(+) and NEGATIVE(-) Terminals. If the wires are connected incorrectly the control board will be damaged Connecting the DC12v 4ah or 7ah Battery Pay close attention to POSITIVE(+) and NEGATIVE(-) Terminals. If the wires are connected incorrectly the control board will be damaged The control board will be forced to enter into sleeping mode when battery is low, during the sleeping mode, the control system will stop working until the battery has recovered

When the gate reaches the fully closed position allow 3 extra seconds then press set button. The gate will stop working and a beep will be heard Step2. Now open/close time learning is successful. Press remote button to operate. The gate will know which position to soft stop and stop working. If the open/close time learning is not successful please repeat the above steps

Motor stall force (while gate is running quickly) Turn it clockwise to increase stall force, turn it counter clockwise to decrease stall force. The stall force must be adjusted to overcome the weight and size of the gate The stall force must be adjusted to have auto stop and reverse while gate is closing and runs into obstacle Motor Soft stop force (while gate is running slowly) Turn it clockwise to increase soft stop force, turn it counter clockwise to decrease soft stop force. The soft stop force must be adjusted to overcome the weight and size of the gate The soft stop force must be adjusted to have auto stop when gate runs into obstacle or ground stop block AUTO CLOSE TIME Turn it counter clockwise all the way to OFF will turn autoclose function off. Turn it clockwise turns autoclose function on auto close time is adjustable from 0 to 240secs Photocell is a safety device for protection against entrapment. When there is an obstacle during closing (photo beam is broken), the gate (s) will stop and reverse in the slow speed mode until fully open or hits obstacle. After the photo beam is clear the gate (s) will close automatically. The output signal is normally closed circuit PB1 and COM terminals are for push button, with each press the gate will enter into open stop close cycle. PB2 and COM are for exit wand the gate will open and auto close (if auto close is not enabled the gate will stay open)

Keypads & Push Buttons Opening your gate with push buttons It is recommended to have auto close function turned on so your gate closes after a preset time (30secs for example) WIRELESS PUSH BUTTONS You can use the wireless push button REF-WPB available from www.solargatesdirect.com This functions like a remote control would. Simply learn it into the control board as you would a remote control. Channel 1 operates the gate fully same as PB1 input channel 2 operates the Pedestrian mode either 4 or 9 seconds opening WIRED PUSH BUTTONS Wire the push button into terminals PB1 the button will have the same function as remote control PB2 This input only tells the gate to open (then auto close if turned on) this is the recommended input for push buttons You can control the functioning times of day the push buttons will work by using a Latching timer, example disable the buttons at night by wiring them through a timer. Timer REF-TM619 Latching Timer available from www.solargatesdirect.com WIRED PUSH BUTTONS WITH LATCHING TIMER To wire a timer to isolate the operation times of push buttons or other entry/exit devices follow this simple diagram.
