When closing the unit sections, ensure they click into place Make sure to open and close the units gently, and take care that no dust or other foreign objects enter the area when opening the guides DO NOT insert worn, torn, folded, wet, or damaged bills into the Bulk Note Feeder, as this action may cause a bill jam inside the unit Shuffle new bills well before inserting them, otherwise they can stick to one another and also cause a bill jam Do not expose the unit to water. The unit contains several precision electronic devices which can be damaged if water or any liquid is sprayed or spilled into the unit Do not install the unit into a dusty environment. Dust may affect the Sensor's performance Do not allow inventory stock to endure high temperature, high humidity, or a dust filled environment If the Bill Validator is dirty due to dust, foreign objects, or other debris adhering to its bill path, bill acceptance rate will be degraded. 26 3
PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING To ensure proper operation of a BNF-2000 Bill Validator perform the following procedures: Preventive Maintenance: Perform a visual inspection of the unit If the 'O' Rings are cracked, replace them If you can see timing marks through the belts, or if they have frayed edges, replace them If a lens is altered in any way (scratched, clouded, bent, etc.) it must be replaced. NOTE: It is important to keep the bill path, rollers, and belts clean. The sensor lenses are transparent surfaces and are made of a polymer material. Handle them with care. WARNING: Do not use alcohol, thinner or citrus based products for cleaning any surfaces. Cleaning: Be sure to clean the Validator at least once a month To clean the lenses, use a soft lint-free cloth and mild non-abrasive detergent such as liquid dish soap mixed with water Use a soft cloth to wipe dust from the magnetic head, optical sensors, and all rollers and belts Use compressed air to blow loose debris out from any inaccessible areas. Cash Box Preventive Maintenance: Periodic maintenance on the Cash Boxes is also recommended. Use compressed air to blow out the paper fibers and other debris that can build up in them over time Check the belts and all moving parts for wear and proper positioning. If the unit does not operate properly it can cause bills to jam.
