Performance Test STUDY In Roth, October/November 2001 Page 1

Study Design: randomized, placebo-controlled cross-over double-blind study 2 groups, A and B, each with 10 test subjects, 3 times a day 1 serving of Activize OXYPLUS or a placebo (low-calorie refreshing drink) A: 7 days verum, 7 days placebo B: 7 days placebo, 7 days verum Performance test day 1 (INI1 or 2), 7 (V-1 or P-1) and 14 (P-2 or V-2) Performance diagnostics: treadmill with spiroergometry and lactate stipulation Page 2

Page 3

Statistical Analysis: Methods: t-test in pairs Wilcoxon in pairs Test for normal distribution by means of F-Test Page 4

ABBREVIATIONS: INI-1 Initial test group 1 (7 days verum / 7 days placebo) INI-2 Initial test group 2 (7 days placebo / 7 days verum) P-1 or P-2 Test after 7 or 14 days in group 1 or 2, whereby the placebo was taken for the last 7 days V-1 or V-2 Test after 7 or 14 days in group 1 or 2, whereby the verum was taken for the last 7 days. VP-1 Test of groups 1 and 2 after 14 days Page 5

1. The Respiratory Quotient! RQ = CO 2 produced/ O 2 consumed Page 6

SPEED AT RQ=1 h / m k 18 16 14 12 10,3 12,3 10,7 11,4 11,5 9,9 11,4 13,0 ** ** 10 8 INI-all VP-all INI-2 P-2 V-2 INI-1 V-1 P-1 TEST Page 7

Results 1 (Responders and Nonresponders):! As in the first study, there were approx. 25% nonresponders and 75 % responders! The running speed at RQ=1 significantly increased after taking Activize OXYPLUS (16% for all; 24 % for group 1)! The effects were less noticeable after 7 days and developed fully after 14 days (although not taken after the 7th day) Page 8

SPEED AT RQ=1 RESPONDERS ONLY h / m k 16 14 12 10,2 14,1 10,3 11,5 13,0 10,2 12,1 14,9 18 *** *** 10 8 INI-all VP-all INI-2 P-2 V-2 INI-1 V-1 P-1 TEST Page 9

Results 1 (Responders): The running speed at RQ=1 increased significantly after taking Activize OXYPLUS (28% for all; 32% for group 1!!!!!) Page 10

2. The maximum oxygen intake (VO 2 max )! Fundamental measure of aerobic capacity and the capacity of the long-term energy system! Influenced by type of exercise, person`s heredity, level of fitness, age, sex and body composition! Improvements of aerobic capacity with training generally ranging between 6% and 20% Page 11

G K g k / n i Om / 2 l m ml O 2 /m in /kg KG 70 60 50 40 VO 2 max 53,0 55,1 55,8 * * INI-1 V-1 VP-1 TEST Page 12

VO 2 max RESPONDERS ONLY g k / n i Om / 2 l m 70 G 53,6 56,0 58,6 54,3 56,7 59,0 53,3 55,2 57,6 ml O 2 /m in /kg KG K 60 50 40 * * INI-all V-1 VP-all INI-1 V-1 P-1 INI-2 P-2 V-2 TEST * Page 13

Results 2 (Responders and Nonresponders):! The maximum intake of oxygen as an important criterium for endurance capacity was significantly increased (5% for all; 8 % to 10 % for the responder groups) Page 14

Conclusion 1: Activize OXYPLUS improves utilization of the oxygen breathed in, as shown in the statistically significant average increase of 25% in the running speed at RQ=1. Page 15

Conclusion 2: The volume of oxygen in the test subjects as an important criterium of their ability to concentrate significantly increased (on average by approx. 10 %). This can be explained by a higher level of oxygen in the blood through additional bonding capacity due to the PTC and, perhaps, due to an improved supply to the capillaries and intake of O 2 into the cells. Page 16

Conclusion 3: The effect of AOP was not felt immediately, but required period of adaptation. Even better results are to be expected when taking Activize OXYPLUS over a longer period of time. This should be investigated in a long-term study. Page 17

In spite of science, it remains true to say, Effectiveness is the only measure of truth! Page 18
