Arosa Sunny, even without sunshine The Arosa sun takes a break from time to time but don t let it drag you down: Even in rainy weather Arosa offers diverse possibilities. Go on a discovery tour: A short walk, a visit of the library or some shots off the tees of the sheltered Driving Range are just a few proposals of our bad weather program. All-Inclusive also when it rains: As of one overnight stay in Arosa, you receive the Arosa Card with which you can experience various activities free of charge and as often as you wish. A ride to the Weisshorn or Hörnli peak is always worth the time. An option such as a visit of the Local History Museum Arosa perfectly qualifies as a great bad weather program. A visit of the fire brigade or the police station makes every child s heart beat faster or «just» painting, crafting, hiding, catching, discovering, listening and much more. A diversified and professional day care for your children from Tuesday to Friday from 10 am to 5 pm at the JUNIOR Club (above the parking garage Innerarosa). In the mornings the minimum age is 3 years and in the afternoons the minimum age is 6 years. Insurance is the participants own responsibility. Sparkling eyes and happy faces guaranteed! Various artists perform on stage and create one musical highlight after another. The Kids Land Open Air makes sure that the program includes a lot of movement in order to help kids stay healthy. Besides the performances on stage there will be much more entertainment such as face painting, clowns, adventure course, crafting tent, bouncy castle and various games. 5
2 Train and bus Do not get wet on your journey. The local bus and the Rhaetian Railway will help you to stay dry. With the Arosa Card the use of the Arosa bus and the Rhaetian Railyway between Lüen-Castiel and Arosa are free of charge during your entire stay. 2.1 Arosa bus Please consult the bus timetable to find the exact schedule. The timetable is available at the municipality of Arosa or the Arosa Tourism Office. 2.2 Rhaetian Railway Enjoy an exciting train ride with the Rhaetian Railway. From Chur, the capital of canton of Grisons, the train weaves its way along the sunny side of the Schanfigg valley. It passes steep rocks, lush forests and crosses the wild Plessur river on the elegant viaduct of Langwies. After a beautiful one hour ride the train finally arrives at its final destination Arosa. The following train rides are also an option: Glacier Express: The slowest express train in the world. The train rides all the way up to the clouds, through intact mountain sceneries, across wild mountain rivers and along jagged rocks. Bernina Express: From the glaciers to the palm trees. 3 Arosa Cable Cars 3.1 Gipfel Z`Morga (breakfast on the peak) Every Sunday from 18 June to 22 October 2017 Price: CHF 28.00 adults / CHF 18.00 teenagers (as of 13 years) / CHF 13.00 children (up to 12 years) / CHF 1.00 per year of age for children until 5 years. The first uphill ride starts at 9 am, the buffet opens at 9.20 am. The gondola ride is free of charge with the Arosa Card. Takes place in every weather condition. Every Wednesday from 28 June to 18 October 2017 Meeting point at 3 pm at the ticket office of the Arosa Weisshorn middle station The tour lasts about one hour and takes place in every weather condition. No registration necessary. Suitable for everyone as of the age of 6. 7
4 Indoor Sport 4.1 Golf Driving Range Every Sunday to Thursday from 9 am to 5 pm you can hit your golf balls on the driving range. Please show your Arosa Card at the Golf Club office. Children/teenagers below the age of 18 need to be accompanied by an adult. Tokens of CHF 5.00 for 30 balls can be purchased at the office. 5 Cultural Offers 5.1 Visit of the Arosa Mountain Chapel Visit the over 500-year old Arosa mountain chapel with its historic pipe organ. Ruth Licht, photographer and curator, knows many interesting facts about the landmark of Innerarosa. A tour takes place every Friday at 2.30 pm. Meeting point is right at the mountain chapel. The tour is free of charge and registration is not necessary. 5.2 Concerts in the Arosa Mountain Chapel Enjoy traditional concerts of different organ players at the historic pipe organ and/or guest musicians every Tuesday as of 5 pm. Tickets can be pre-purchased at the Arosa Tourism Office or as of 4.30 pm at the mountain chapel. The entrance fee is CHF 20.00 for adults or CHF 15.00 for teenagers, apprentices, students and members of the Arosa Culture. Duration ca. 45 minutes. 5.3 Local History Museum of Schanfigg Eggahuus Opening hours: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 2.30 pm - 4.30 pm The entrance to the local history museum of Schanfigg is free of charge with the Arosa Card. Without the Arosa Card the entrance fee is CHF 3.00 per person. In addition many guest speakers talk about the history of Arosa. More detailed information can be found in the program of the Culture Circle or in the event calendar as well as under arosa.ch. The entrance fee (incl. coffee and cake) is CHF 20.00 for adults or CHF 15.00 for teenagers, apprentices, students and members of the Arosa Culture. Tickets can be bought on site or pre-sale at the Arosa Tourism Office. 5.5 A tour through the power plant Lüen Arosa Energy invites everyone who is interested in energy to have a look behind the scenes of the power supply of the Schanfigg valley. The tour through the power plant shows details about the old and the new technic on hydropower utilization. In order to produce Alpine cheese and other high quality products on site, the cheese making factory was extensively renovated from autumn 2008 to spring 2009. Since 2009 the factory is operating all year round. A big window in the new shop allows a glance into the modern cheese factory. 5.7 Library Our library contains books for children and adolescents, adult literature, DVD offers, audio books and numerous magazines. The library is located in the secondary school building at the Schulhausstrasse next to the Arosa Energy building at the bus stop «Rathaus».
