Inspect kit components (Refer to kit contents and hardware bag contents). VEHICLE PREPARATION Care must be taken when installing this accessory to ensure damage does not occur to the vehicle. The installation o f this accessory should follow approved guidelines to ensure a quality installation. These guidelines can be found in the "Accessory Installation Practices" document. This document covers such items as: Vehicle Protection (use of covers and blankets, cleaning chemicals, etc.). Safety (eye protection, re-checking torque procedure, etc.). Vehicle Disassembly/Reassembly (panel removal, part storage, etc.). Electrical Component Disassembly/Reassembly (battery disconnection, connector removal, etc.). Fig. 2a Fig. 2b REMOVE THE DRIVER'S SIDE SCUFF PLATE: 1. Disengage the (10) claws and remove the LH scuff plate. (Fig. 2b) REMOVE THE DRIVER'S SIDE KICK PANEL: 1. Remove the plastic nut, disengage the (1) clip and remove the LH kick panel. (Fig. 2c) Fig. 2c Screw REMOVE THE LOWER INSTRUMENT FINISH PANEL (LH): 1. Pry off the far right blank knock out cover using the slot at the bottom of the knock out and remove the screw located behind. Use protective tape to avoid damage to the finish panel when prying. (Fig. 2d) Fig. 2d Page 2 of 12

PREPARING FOR INSTALLATION REMOVE THE LOWER INSTRUMENT FINISH PANEL (LH); cont: 1. Disengage the (8) clips, and remove the lower instrument finish panel. Then disconnect any electrical connectors. Using needle-nose pliers, disengage harness clip and remove clip from panel. Remove panel from vehicle and set the panel aside where it will not be damaged. (Fig. 3a) Fig. 3a REMOVE THE LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER: 1. Remove the (2) philips screws securing the steering column cover. Then disengage the claws and remove the lower half of the steering column cover. (Fig. 3b) Fig. 3b T-TAP INSTALLATION When installing female T-Tap connectors, be sure the wire is located inside the wire channel of the female T-Tap connector before closing the connector over the wire with pliers. When possible, install T-Taps at least 1" away from connector. Step A Step B Step C T-Tap Wire from main keyless harness IMPORTANT! After installation, inspect and ensure that Keyless System Harnesses are clear of all HOT, SHARP or MOVING objects. IMPORTANT! Care MUST be exercised when using the BLACK T-Taps. To avoid damage and broken wires, please note: Ensure there is NO tension on the T-Tap connection when securing the harness. The wire should be slack. Excessive manipulation and/or stress on the wire connection could lead to wire breakage. Center the wire in the metal insert, NOT the plastic side of the T-Tap. Misalignment of the wire against the metal insert could lead to cutting the wire. It is recommended to close close the T-Tap with your fingers (Step A above). After the T-Tap has been closed with your fingers, applying light pressure with a set of pliers will complete the connection. Page 3 of 12
