What is World Smart Energy Week? World Smart Energy Week is the world s leading comprehensive B-to-B trade show for smart and renewable energy held twice a year in Japan. (March in Tokyo and September in Osaka) The show aims to provide a platform for professionals from across Japan, Asia, and the world to negotiate and network for the future of smart and renewable energy business. Since the launch of FC EXPO 14 years ago, the number of exhibitors and visitors has been increasing year after year. World Smart Energy Week consists of 8 exhibitions and world-class conference sessions filling up Tokyo Big Sight the largest exhibition centre of the country. The show ranges from power generation, storage, saving, transmission to distribution technologies. 4

Technical Conference Number of Sessions: 221 Number of Attendees: 16,078 During the show period, keynote and technical conference sessions were held in parallel to the exhibitions at the Conference Tower of Tokyo Big Sight. World renowned industry leaders from the energy sectors gathered to share the outlook of the industry, the latest technology, market trends and various strategies for business and national and international energy policies. A Special Keynote Session, 7 Keynote Sessions, and 213 Technical Sessions and Exhibitors Product/Technology Seminars, totally 221 sessions were held throughout the show period. Events Opening Ribbon-cutting Ceremony Date/Time: Feb. 28, 2018 (9:30-10:00) Venue: Outside East Hall 2 Entrance, Tokyo Big Sight A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the opening of World Smart Energy Week 2018. 55 dignitaries including ambassadors and energy industry leaders from Japan and overseas participated in the event. The ceremony marked the beginning of a successful event and illustrated the dedication of industry experts towards the show. See all the opening ribbon-cutting dignitaries >>> CLICK HERE Executive Party Date/Time: March 1, 2018 12:00- Venue: Reception Hall, Conference Tower, Tokyo Big Sight A reception was held on the first day during the lunch hours to facilitate networking among executives of the industry such as the policy makers, executives from exhibiting firms and organisations, speakers from keynotes and other conference sessions, politicians, etc. A total of 765 executives attended the event. 8
Events Fuel-Cell Hybrid Test Ride Event Dates/Time: Feb. 28 Mar 2, 2018 (10:00-18:00) Venue: Hall 4, Tokyo Big Sight HySUT (The Association of Hydrogen Supply and Utilization Technology) was holding a fuel-cell hybrid bus or FCHV-BUS test ride event at FC EXPO 2018. During the 3 day show, the FCHV-BUS operated on two routes: Tokyo Big Sight-Iwatani Hydrogen Station and Tokyo Big Sight-Shinsuna Hydrogen Station. Details of Upcoming Editions BATTERY JAPAN to expand by 25% in 2019. BATTERY JAPAN will continue to grow as Japan s largest battery show. Whilst in the middle of EV boom, countries such as UK, the Netherlands, France, Germany, India, and China are working to ban internal combustion engines. As a result, needs for batteries are on the rise and the show expects to have more visitors from around the world to find the best rechargeable battery technologies. BATTERY JAPAN is expected to expand by 25% by adding more exhibitors. More AI products at INT L SMART GRID EXPO 2019 Every year, a wide variety of technologies/products that are fundamental to building Smart Grid or Smart Community has been exhibited. However, from next year s show, it is predicted that artificial intelligence (AI) will be playing a bigger role in the energy-saving industry. With the expansion of HEMS(Home Energy Management System, technologies such as AI energy saving services, air conditioners with AI remote control, and home energy storage, etc. are expected to be exhibited at the show, attracting more exhibitors and visitors. More than 400 new exhibitors are expected next year With the growing potential of EV and AI, the show expects to have more than 400 new exhibitors at World Smart Energy Week 2019. The show will continue to serve as Japan s largest comprehensive energy show by contributing to further developments of smart and renewable energy business. World Smart Energy Week 2019 will be held from Feb. 27 Mar. 1, 2019 at Tokyo Big Sight, Japan.
