For a common understanding, please note the following warnings and act accordingly when operating and/or servicing these pumps. DANGER Indicates an imminently hazardous situation which, it not avoided, will result in death or serious injury. WARNING CAUTION Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in death or serious injury. Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, may result in minor or moderate injury. WARNING inch Minimum Clearance On All Sides STOP The action is not allowed. if not avoided, will result in unknowable trouble. Check if any part of the pump has been damaged during shipment Do not dispose of solid or material from suction inlet directly otherwise damage to the pump will occur Model RVVDRT is suitable for vacuum applications down to an ultimate pressure of 50 hpa Model RVDRT is suitable for maximum over-pressure service to 000 hpa (000 hpa abd.) When installed outdoors, please check for and remove any obstruction around the suction inlet and install shelter to avoid motor damage or electric shock due to water. Distance of at least 00mm (inches) shall be maintained between the pump motor fan and any other surface to avoid overheating of the motor. STOP Important!! Maintenance Always make sure power to the pump is disconnected. Power Supply Make sure the voltage and frequency of the power supply meets local code and the electrical data marked on the pump nameplate, otherwise injury or damage to the motor can occur. Allowable voltage variation is +/-5% of the nameplate value and frequency variance is +/-%. The pump motor is not suitable for operation with VFD (variable frequency drives).
Operation Avoid starting/stopping cycling the pump on and off too many times within a short period of time, otherwise overheating of the motor and pump can occur CAUTION Connect Earth Ground Insure your wiring is according to local electrical standards and the instructions within the conduit box and insure earth lines are connected to prevent electrical injury and possible death. DANGER 00% Oil-Free Under no condition should oil be added to the pump. STOP Application of Pump The All-Star oil-free vacuum pump is rated for handling only clean, filtered air and is not suitable for use with corrosive, explosive or contaminated air supplies. DANGER High Temperature The surfaces of the pump and motor reach high temperatures and should not be touched under any circumstances. If service work is necessary, the pump should be allowed to cool before any work is performed. Operating Conditions Ambient: Deg F to 3 Deg F Altitude: 600 feet Relative Humidity: 80% WARNING STOP Direction of Rotation Insure the pump is rotating in the correct direction (direction arrows are placed on the surfaces of the pump) by jogging it before operating it continuously If the rotation is incorrect for 3-phase pumps, just switch any two leads to change the rotation direction. STOP Operating Environment The inlet and outlet filter must be cleaned at regular intervals, depending on the amount of dust in the environment. Blow out the air filter cartridges with a compressed air gun from the inside outward. The pump housing should be cleaned regularly to prevent overheating due to the accumulation of dust.
Bearings Check 3500Hrs Change 5000 Hrs Vanes Check 3000 Hrs Bearing The bearings, carbon vanes and the filter cotton require periodic inspection and replacement. Inspect at regular intervals to insure a long, trouble-free service life. The bearings are sealed for life and do not require lubrication, only replacement. Air Filter In environments with nor mal amounts of dust, the air filter needs to be change every 5000 hours. Dusty environments require changing more frequently. The pump front cover needs to be removed to access the filters. Rotary Vanes The carbon rotary vanes have a design life of 0,000 hours. They should be inspected for wear ever y 3000 hours and replaced when the minimum width reaches the values in the table below. Pump Model Number Minimum Width of Carbon Br ush RVVRT 0 RVDRT 0 mm RVVRT 08 RVDRT 08 3mm RVVRT 0 RVDRT 0 7mm RVVRT 6 RVDRT 6 7mm RVVRT 5 RVDRT 5 33mm RVVRT 0 RVDRT 0 33mm RVVRT 3060 RVDRT 3060 RVVRT 3080 RVDRT 3080 RVVRT 300 RVDRT 300 RVVRT 30 RVDRT 30 mm 6mm 6mm 3mm Overload Valve When the All-Star rotar y vane pump is used as a as compressors (RVDRT Models), a pre-set overload valve is included as standard and it is set for maximum pressure. This valve setting should never be changed or altered. Optional Accessories Optional Accessories Depending on your application, accessories are recommended. Contact your local supplier or All-Star Products for more information and pricing and availability of these accessories. AIR FILTERS Additional air filters should be installed when operating the pump in a dirty/dusty environment. VACUUM or PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE NON-RETURN VALVE A non-return valve protects against reverse air flow if the pump is turned off while under vacuum. This valve is also recommended where piping distances exceed 5 meters in length.

Conveying air with high moisture may cause a shorter service life for the pump. Moisture should be avoided, if not avoidable, inspect the pumps parts regularly to prevent damage to the pump or injury due to corrosion.. Bearing, carbon vane and filter cotton are consumptive parts with a limited life which is different for each application. Please inspect and replace as necessary. 3. The inlet and outlet filter must be cleaned at regular intervals, depending upon the amount of dust in the environment. The filters should be blown out with compressed air gun from the inside outwards.. If the filter cartridge is too dirty to be cleaned, then it should be replaced. 5. RVDRT and RVVRT rotary vane at 00% oil-free and should never be lubricated with oil or grease. 6. The radial fan, hood and motor should be inspected regularly for dirt. Soiling of the pump surface prevents cool air intake and can lead to overheating of the vacuum pumps. 7. The bearings used in the All-Star rotary vane pumps are sealed and do not require lubrication.
